Beautylish has some really great posts to check out, but this one really caught my eye. It’s a DIY tutorial on how to make tinted lip balm inside of a locket! It’s such a cute, fun and stylish way to keep lip balm on hand! Definitely a tutorial worth checking out.

Sunshine Picnics – Amy Antoinette

So, I recently watched Safe Haven (which was really awesome!) and this outfit on Amy Antoinette really reminded me of Julianne Hough in the film. I don’t really know why, but I think Amy really kind of looks like JH in general and the style, the water, it all just FITS for some reason! Anyway, since I’m currently obsessed with all things “lakeside/beachside romance” themed, I had to share this one and what a lovely fun post – do check it out!

Routines Cheat Sheet – Beauty Mouth Caroline Hirons

I’m sure I’m not the only beauty addict out there obsessed with Caroline Hirons from Beauty Mouth and with good reason! This woman is an absolute skin genius and she really knows her stuff. This recent post on what your skincare routine should look like (both AM & PM) really opened my eyes. As fleshed out as I would consider my own routine, even I was missing some steps! I definitely recommend this as one to check out – it was really eye-opening!

What Can Numerology Tell You About Your Life Purpose? – GalaDarling

This is technically from last week, but seeing as I had a bit of a fascination with the concept for the entire weekend, I wanted to share it with you all so, you too, can become obsessed as well! The idea is that we each have a number (determined by our birthday + adding/ subtracting numbers) and the number determines our life purpose and some of our character. Based on what? I have no idea. The point is that it’s a lot like astrology and though it has no real grounds in reality (in my opinion), it’s a lot of fun to read up on your number…a bit like playing MASH actually!

I really love Dolly Dowsie! Her beauty and lifestyle blog is really a fun read for me personally. If you enjoy beauty and life posts, definitely check it out! Before And After Fat Loss Pics Tumblr

I am pretty obsessed with this Before & After Fat Loss Pics Tumblr Blog because they upload so many before and afters daily and this one in particular I found to be really inspiring. This girl went from weighing 200+ lbs to weighing 162 lbs and she looks AMAZING! It’s funny how much we focus on the scale when people can build muscle and look this incredible. Anyway, there are not really any text posts on this blog; just simply before and after pics with the occasional little blurb about how the person lost the weight, what their starting and ending weights were, etc. I find it really motivating to see these men and women change their bodies and lives for the better!

The Best Juice for Healthy Skin – Shape Magazine

I am pretty obsessed with healthy smoothies and juice for beauty (and body) purposes. Not only because I really enjoy eating healthy and feeling my best, but also because juices and smoothies, in particular, can have a really positive effect on the skin. I have seen my skin look brighter, clearer, and more youthful when I drink juices and smoothies than ever before. This post by Shape Magazine has a bunch of healthy juices for a variety of health purposes, including your skin.

I recently picked the RMS Beauty Un-Cover Up Cream Foundation + Concealer in shade 11 at Beauty Habit and I am loving this!

One thing I really love about it is that, for being totally natural and organic, it has fantastic coverage, finish and it actually benefits the skin while you’re wearing it.

First off, if you’re unfamiliar with the RMS Beauty brand, it is a totally organic and natural beauty brand that offers pretty synergistic products. Some are simply skincare types while others are makeup products infused with skincare benefits. They mainly utilize the brilliance of organic coconut oil to offer tinted balms, concealer + foundation, lip and cheek tints, and cream eye shadows.

RMS Un-Cover Up Impressive Ingredients List:
*Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, *Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, *Cera Alba (Beeswax), *Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, *Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Tocopherol(non-GMO), *Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) Extract, and may contain: [+/- Titanium Dioxide CI 77891, Iron Oxides CI 77492, CI 77491, CI 77499].

The Un-Cover Up is a product I have been wanting to try for ages, but it is a little price for a small pot of it ( $36 ) so I wanted to wait for a special occasion and I finally got it for my birthday!

I was really skeptical when I first received this in the mail because #1 I had never actually tried a cream foundation before and I was worried it might break me out and #2 It was pretty expensive and while my expectations were high due to the hype surrounding this product, so were my doubts.

I am so thrilled this actually turned out to be a fantastic base product and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants natural looking, but decent coverage in a foundation that will benefit your skin over time and has minimal ingredients.

The finish of this is very smooth on the skin and surprisingly hydrating. It seems like it would be oily on the skin, but it actually only looks dewy if you apply a few layers. If you apply a thin layer, it dries down to a soft focus, almost matte finish. I think this would be awesome for any skin type and it won’t clog pores or irritate skin at all. It can be used with or without a separate concealer – I’ve used it alone and with another concealer without any trouble and both looked really nice.

Overall, I really love this product!

It’s great for days when I really don’t want to wear makeup, but still want to look put together.

I love that it is capable of full coverage, but will let my skin breathe and I love that it has minimal ingredients. Lastly, I really love that it has a base of coconut oil which hydrates and conditions the skin while I wear it. If you want a makeup base product that is organic, has minimal ingredients, and will benefit rather than harm your skin in the long run, it’s absolutely worth a try. My only major complaint for this product is that the shade options are minimal and they don’t have any options for darker skin tones so it’s not really suitable for women of color or who have dark tans. I really hope they come out with more shades so everyone can give this a go because it’s fantastic!

This week seems to have flown by! I didn’t realize that yesterday was Thursday already so realizing that today would be Friday really made my day haha. Last night I got the most amazing body massage from my friend, Rachel, who is a massage therapist. She is super skilled and I feel really lucky to have her around! Gabifresh X Swimsuits For All – Gabifresh

I follow a number of style blogs and this one, Gabifresh, has really lovely tips and advice for fuller figured women. One thing I really love about the blog is that her posts are always fun to read and feature really pretty clothing. I know a lot of full figured women have trouble finding nice clothing that’s still really fashionable and this is a great blog to inspire the fashionista in us all. She now offers her own line of swimwear (as shown above) and I think the suits are really beautiful pieces. I’m not a fan of the idea that women should have to be a certain size to wear a swimsuit or look and feel beautiful. Body shaming, to me, is at the very bottom of the barrel and I love that this blog promotes self confidence, letting your beauty (in and out) shine, and feeling good about yourself overall. It really inspires me!

Skittle Patterns with Color Club – Megan Box Nails

I’ve featured Megan Box Nails before on here and I can’t help but do it again! She has some really fabulous nail ideas and looks to inspire the nail noob in me and I love all the bright fun looks she’s been doing lately, especially this one with all the fun colors and designs on it. It’s perfect for Spring and Summer!

Ways to Wear Black Lipstick – Cherie La Mode

I actually only just discovered this blog, Cherie La Mode, and I love it! This post, in particular, features some really love ideas for ways to wear black lipstick. I think it’s pretty inspiring as I love the idea of wearing really intense, vampy colors like black and purple, but I have no idea how to style them. Her post shows a few different ways to wear this color and I will definitely be trying them out!

Oriental Bomber Jacket Curly Hair – Kumbear XO

This lifestyle and fashion blog, Kumbear XO, is really cute and fun! It features a lot of high fashion posts as well as OOTDs, like this one where she sports this incredible bomber jacket! Although it’s really too hot to rock one of these, at the moment, here in Cali, I love a fashionable jacket! She wore this so well and I love her beautiful curly hair!

Glamour Beauty always offers the best beauty tips, how to’s, and the scoop on new products and things. This post on the best highlighters for your skin tone was one I really enjoyed and found helpful!

I really love this style blog, Girl with Curves, because she is so beautiful and her outfits are really pretty and stylish as well. I’m vaguely obsessed with her hair as well, but that’s neither here nor there. The point is she has some really lovely fashion posts on what she wears every day which I find fun to browse through!

JCD Fitness is ran by one of the most competent and helpful fitness experts I’ve ever come across. He writes really easy to understand articles about health and fitness, especially for weight loss and building muscle. I think a lot of fitness blogs can be really difficult to understand with a lot of “market speak, but this one is really helpful. I really enjoyed this recent post on How to Build Muscle for Women - it was super enlightening and very helpful!

Today’s post is focused on how to get you the best skin possible without using products. I definitely think products can help skin out, but getting nice dewy and healthy skin, in my opinion, is easiest to create when following a healthy diet, utilizing a few beauty tips and DIY recipes. You’ll be surprised at how effective some of these really are. so without further delay, here are some tips on how to get flawless skin naturally.

EAT HYDRATING FOODS FOR GLOWING SKIN

Achieving glowing skin can seem impossible at times, and yes you can always fake it with makeup, but to get authentically glowing skin, I highly recommend a diet high in fruits and veggies, especially berries. They have very high concentrations of antioxidants, help keep your body hydrated (which in turn, hydrates your skin), and they are high in vitamins and nutrients essential to repairing and maintaining healthy skin. Aside from berries, there are a ton of hydrating foods you can consume to up the hydration of your cells and therefore your skin. Check out a list I’ve made of these foods – here.

DIY TONERS TO CALM REDNESS & INFLAMMATION

I used to think I needed some kind of magical product to fix my skin, but after much experimentation, I find that a nice DIY recipe works just as well, if not better, and I am left with a lot more cash in my pocket at the end of it all. One thing that I definitely deal with a lot, especially in the Summer time, is redness. The most effective treatment for this, by far, are toners and you can make a number of them with ingredients you already have in your kitchen. Check out the DIY toner recipes – here.

SUPPLEMENT FOR GREAT SKIN

Although we can do everything right, including eat well, sometimes I think it’s still pretty difficult to get all the nutrients our skin and body need to function at optimal levels. Because of this, I think supplements can be very beneficial to our systems, especially in resolving skin problems such as acne, dry skin, redness, and other issues. TONS of Naruko Skincare Samples: Speed Reviews

If you’ve been following this blog for awhile, you’ll know I’m a huge fan of Naruko skincare. Their favorite products are the night jellies that they offer, but they also have various lines of skincare for different skin types, issues and concerns and I was lucky this past winter/ spring season to be able to test out a few of them for a few months.

Here’s a look at everything I received for review. Naruko has been super generous to me and I couldn’t be more grateful to have the opportunity to try more of their products because they are a brand that I would purchase from no matter what. If you’re unfamiliar with this brand, Naruko is a Taiwanese beauty brand that mainly offer a variety of skincare products for all your skin concerns including acne, dry skin, discoloration or pigmentation, and more. The brand is known for selling products that are naturally effective and include a variety of all natural ingredients combined with some scientific research to ensure the best results for your skin.

Rose & Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Hydrating Cream

The first item I tested out was their Rose & Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Hydrating Cream. It comes in an air tight plastic container which dispenses the perfect amount of cream out of a hole in it’s center when you press down on the top. It’s really sanitary and effective way to keep your cream clean as well as keep it from oxidation which will make ingredients less effective over time so I really like the packaging for it’s practical function. Aside from the packaging, this is a great cream for those with dry skin or combination skin who are dry in the winter or spring seasons. I got really super dry skin this past winter and this was a really nice cream to keep my skin from dehydration.

Rose & Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Hydrating Mask

I absolutely love sheet masks! They are super easy to use, effective and very mess-free. They come in rectangle envelopes with face shaped cotton masks that are pre-soaked in the mask ingredients so you literally just pull them out, place them on your face and relax for 10-15. A lot of them don’t even need to be rinsed off, though you can if you’d prefer to. This one is super hydrating and softening.

Rose & Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Foaming Wash

This face wash was hit and miss for me. On the one hand, I really enjoyed the gratifying peeling that happened when I used it. It basically lathers up really nicely and when you massage it onto your skin, it starts to peel the dead skin off your face to reveal brighter skin beneath and you can literally see the skin coming off in little pieces. It’s not painful and there’s very little to no abrasion going on so it’s done more chemically than anything. It doesn’t feel like a face scrub much at all so, if you’re not into scrubs, this doesn’t feel like that. Instead, it just massages dead skin off your face and reveals new skin after. I really liked the peeling bit of this face wash, but as for treating dryness, it was not nearly as much hydration as I wanted and needed in a winter cleanser. I actually think face balms work much better for me than this, which I found to be brightening, but still a bit drying. It may work better for others, but for me, it didn’t hydrate enough. This might be great for those who battle oily skin, but also have dryness.

Tea Tree Oil Out Peeling Gel

This is another peeling type product that’s super fun to use. It does feel more like a scrub as it has tiny little beads in the formula, but they aren’t rough at all to use. To use this, you apply a small amount to skin and massage it around your face gently (avoiding eye area) for a minute or so. You will see small pieces of skin come off in the same way as the face wash and you need to rinse after using this to get all the little pieces completely off. I liked this better than the face wash, but it still didn’t hydrate my skin enough. I really just enough the scent of the Naruko tea tree products, to be honest. This is a great one for acne prone skin types.

Rose & Snow Fungus Classic Hydrating Night Eye Gelly

This hydrating night eye jelly is perfect for under the eyes. It’s super thick and goopy feeling, but it will soak in completely within an hour so that does go away eventually. It really does hydrate the eye area and protect it nicely. It didn’t cause breakouts on my skin at all so that’s a great bonus for those who have dry under eyes, but experience eye sensitivity and acne, because it’s very hydrating without being heavy or causing irritation.

Rose & Snow Fungus Classic Hydrating Night Gelly

Although this hasn’t taken the place of my favorite night jelly, it’s still a really lovely Night Jelly and it’s especially beneficial for dry skin types or those currently experiencing dryness. It has a really lovely, yet subtle rose scent and feels hydrating, but light on the skin.

AMPM Super Triple HA Skin Hydrator Seru

AMPM Super Triple HA Skin Hydrator

This very hydrating, yet light serum has a high concentration of B vitamins and hyaluronic acid to help hydrate, plump, and soothe skin. I really like how light this serum is, despite the fact that it’s very moisturizing. I think this is perfect for combination and oily skin types who have trouble finding serums that both hydrate the skin and are not super heavy. This is a great one for those who have trouble with heavier moisturizers, but still want a hydrating serum to use.

Facial White Illuminating Cotton Pads

The last item I received is this box of texturized cotton pads that are unique to Naruko. They are dual sided with one side being very smooth and one side being cross-hatched for gently buffing the skin. These are fantastic to use with facial toners or to remove makeup because the cross-hatched side really buffs the skin clean and gently exfoliates while the smooth side polishes and smooths the surface. I really saw a huge difference in my skin with using these alongside a toner and I definitely think they’re worth the little extra cost.

Overall, these products from Naruko, unsurprisingly, were really awesome. They all work really well at hydrating the skin and putting some life into otherwise dry skin cells. I definitely had an issue with dryness this past season and these products all helped a lot. I don’t think there was anything I really loved out of this bunch, but they’re all pretty solid as good skincare choices in my book. I don’t think I’d use them in the Summer time really as my skin can’t really handle it and prefers oils to lotions. I know that sounds weird and backward, but that’s how my skin is. If I had to pick favorites, I would choose the Night Eye Jelly, the Tea Tree Peeling Gel and the Cotton Pads, but these are all worth a look if hydration is what you need so definitely give them a look!

I really love how cute and fun AdoraBeauty is! It’s a mostly beauty blog with some occasional style and fashion posts, but I really enjoy the posts because they’re usually really fun and simple and her blog looks so full of whimsy – it’s just an enjoyable place to visit! Aside from that, her reviews are awesome and she often features cool new products like this one, the Lily Brush, which is meant to help clear older clothing from those little fabric pieces that gather on them after so many washes. It looks seriously promising so do check it out!

If you’ve been reading my Blogger Link Love posts for awhile, you might have seen My Lucite Dreams mentioned before and it’s because her blog has such awesome review posts! She features some lovely products and a lot of them are ones I wouldn’t normally seek out, but find they are of interest when I read her reviews. These lashes she reviewed recently look super natural for everyday wear and I’m not really a falsies wearing kind of girl, but these look like a good starting point for transitioning into wearing them more!

One of my best blogger buddies, D is an amazing blogger and she does a variety of posts on beauty, mommy life, and some fantastic blogging tutorials that are extremely helpful if you’re new to the blogging world. NEW IN: PIERRE BALMAIN – Scent of Obsession

I recently discovered this incredible lifestyle fashion blog, Scent of Obsession, and I am hooked! She has lovely posts with great photos, featuring loads of items you’ll want to get your hands on. I love this post on new items from Pierre Balmain. I never felt into fashion or style before, but now I’ve discovered some cool fashion blogs, I find myself more and more fascinated by designer. This blog is one of those that’s just great to follow for an all around lifestyle interest in food, fashion, travel, and beauty.

KIKO Summer 2013 – British Beauty Blogger

I always have to share posts from British Beauty Blogger, especially when she shares things like this new Summer Collection from KIKO Makeup! They seem to be making a splash lately in the beauty world, though I hadn’t heard of them until I saw them on AModelRecommends & BBB, but apparently they are an Italian beauty brand that’s very affordable and the quality looks top notch!

The Deal on Dead Lifting & Getting Bulky – My Itsy Bitsy Bikini

I discovered this blog just the other day, but this post has been converted! Although it’s called My Itsy Bitsy Bikini, it focuses on one woman’s experiences with weight lifting, strength training and being a bikini/figure competitor. This post, in particular, really resonated with me because it discusses common misconceptions women have about weight lifting and “getting bulky,” which by the way, doesn’t happen without steroids, and also her own experiences getting over a dependency on the scale. I can really relate to it because it’s difficult to see when you look better, but your weight goes up or down or doesn’t even move. Often it’s that the scale doesn’t tell the whole story, if at all, and I think a lot of people will be able to relate to this post, especially if you’re trying to get in shape, build muscle, lose weight, etc. It’s definitely worth a look.

{WANDERLUST} Visiting New Orleans – Nicolette Mason

I recently discovered Nicolette Mason, but I don’t remember how. I only recall now that I love this blog and am officially a fan, especially this post she did on her visit to New Orleans! I’ve been wanting to visit New Orleans for ages now and her guide to the city is really well thought out and put together as well as simple, fun and creative. I definitely will keep this post in mind for when I decide to visit! A Marie Claire contributor, she features a variety of fashion, lifestyle and travel posts which are all worth a read!

Skulls & Bones – Krystel Couture

I really enjoyed this style post from Krystel Couture! I’m a big fan of skulls and I LOVE her hair! I’m just going to have to gush for a moment and say her hair is AMAZING. It looks so lovely and bright and, honestly, perfect for Spring & Summer, in my opinion. She reminds me a lot of Hayley Williams from Paramore, actually, only British. This is a great UK Style & Beauty blog so definitely give it a look!

Loopy Bow Nail Art Tutorial – Islaay

I really love Islaay’s blog! She always features great fashion, beauty and nail posts and this tutorial is so cute! It also seems really simple – something I might actually be able to achieve! – so thank you Islaay for helping me improve my lackluster nail painting abilities. Definitely give her post a look if you want to do this tutorial and check out others because they’re all pretty awesome!

I hope you’ve all had a lovely week and look forward to an exciting and fulfilling weekend

My week was awesome and zoomed by mostly, but yesterday I had some weird 24 hour flu or food poisoning; I’m not sure which. All I know is it was seriously awful and I couldn’t eat or do anything really. Thank God I feel much better today!! I plan on relaxing at home, finishing Spring Cleaning, whitening my teeth ( thanks for the idea Taylor @MyLuciteDreams! ) and I’ll be trying out some DIY recipes to naturally lighten my hair and condition it. If you don’t know who Caroline Hirons is, you MUST check out her amazing blog, Beauty Mouth! She is a brilliant, no nonsense gal who works as a facialist and gives incredible advice on how to treat skin with the right products and help you get your skin looking it’s best. I’ve been a huge fan since before I ever began blogging – I even did a post on her facial massage techniques which you can see here. She was recently on Pixiwoo’s Body Talk and recommended some amazing beauty products. Check it out – here!

If you don’t follow XOJane & you’re a woman, you MUST! They post on a ton of relevant topics and nearly every writer has a charisma and flair about their pieces which are often hilarious, engaging and easy to relate to. I highly recommend this site as one to follow if you’re into off beat female ish humor and this article in particular is pretty relevant to us bloggers and freelances so do check it out! – here.

Hello Again – Atlantic-Pacific

I’m really loving bright colors and neon this Spring and Blair from Atlantic-Pacific is really brilliant at all things style and fashion related. She’s always posting up really interesting outfit picks for the day which I find really inspiring, especially because she does things that are chic, but also wearable. I think runway fashion is interesting, but mostly I just think of how fucking weird you’d look if you wore that on the streets. This girl knows how to style pieces that look like they could go on runway, but won’t make you look like an insane socialite cat lady if you wear it in the streets. Just saying.

April Favourites – Urban Umbrella

I really enjoyed this April Favourites post from Urban Umbrella! She does frequent fashion posts and occasional beauty ones, but this one has tons of great picks that I’ll be looking into for Spring/Summer so do check it out!

Top 10 Tips for Eating Clean from @shrinkingjeans

The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans is a great “weight loss” and health blog, but I really love the invaluable tips they offer like these ones for how to eat clean! I am not a huge fan of “weight loss” blogs, but this one is more of a get healthy and fit kind and its very easy to relate to because it’s written by normal women instead of fashion or fitness models which, in my opinion, can feel very patronizing at times. This one is not. Definitely check them out!

I found this blog, The Fitted Frame, recently from an IFB roundup post and found it really intriguing and relevant for us women. In it, she discusses the affect that media images, especially where the fashion industry is concerned, have on us and our body image. She also talks about this recent campaign from Star Models which they’ve done in an attempt to discourage women from starving themselves to meet unrealistic standards.

Sarah Brown of Pai Skincare – 5 Desert Island Beauty Essentials

I really enjoyed this series of posts that the Beauty Shortlist has recently come out with! They’ve done a number of posts featuring prominent women in beauty where they’ve asked them to name their top beauty picks. My favorite is this one that features Sarah Brown of Pai Skincare’s Top Desert Island Beauty Essentials!

Happy Blogger Link Love Friday!

This week just flew by. I can’t believe I’m nearly through my 4th week of weight training. Everything is sore from my back to my calves, literally, but it’s a really accomplished feeling for me as I have gained a bit of strength since we started and I certainly feel stronger and even a bit leaner. It’s been difficult to not to cardio, but that will happen soon enough and I’ve been doing a 4 mile walk on weekends to try and get a bit in.

She has great beauty and fashion posts, frequent giveaways and this week’s post features some awesome beauty bargains from Amazon so definitely worth a look!

NEW Illamasqua Paranormal lipsticks – British Beauty Blogger

If you aren’t already, you definitely have to follow the amazing British Beauty Blogger! Not only is she a veteran in the beauty industry, but she’s always the first to know when it comes to new beauty trends and products that are not even out yet. This week’s post features new lip colors from Illamasqua which I’ve been obsessing over! She’s a great adviser in blogging tips and etiquette for new bloggers and she’s just a fun read overall.

Embracing Pain: Life’s Gifts Often Come Wrapped in Sandpaper – Tiny Buddha

I’ve been trying to feature the odd post in these links which isn’t about beauty and this week, it’s a post from Tiny Buddha about spirituality or whichever. I don’t know why, but I really enjoyed this article which discusses how suffering and hard times in life can often bring about great things. It has kind of stuck with me all week so definitely check it out!

Battle of the Hair Oils – Friday is Forever

This awesome post by Friday is Forever features some nice hair oils! I love a good hair oil, especially in Summer when I’m much more likely to need extra nourishment due to the sun, heat and time spent in pools or at the beach. There are some lovely hair oils featured that I’ll definitely be looking into! Friday is Forever is a fantastic beauty and fashion blog for those interested in that sort of thing- which I am!

Beauty Haulin’ – Diary Delights

Diary Delights is a lovely beauty and lifestyle blog which features all sorts of posts like this one where Phoebe, the lovely blogger behind it all, shows us her latest beauty purchases. I don’t know why, but I love haul posts! She’s done tons of other types of posts, but hauls are fun to read and see what everyone’s gotten. It’s my way of being nosy on the internet, if you will. Definitely check out this blog if you’re into beauty and the like!

Get App-y: We Try Inglot’s Virtual Makeover App – Beautylish.com

This last one is from Beautylish, an awesome beauty site! They’ve done a feature on a new smartphone app from Inglot where you can digitally apply Inglot cosmetics to a photo of yourself. I guess it’s meant to help you decide if you would like to purchase that specific product, but I personally find “makeover” type digital tools for makeup, hair, etc. to be a lot of fun and thought you all might want a look!
