Guess What? Your Computer Is Aging You

Guess what ? Your computer is aging you. Yep. The blue light is counteracting all of your skincare efforts. So pissed right now! Click through for my rant + how to fight back!

Guess What? Your Computer Is Aging You.

Guess what, guys? The blue light from your computer is aging you. Yeah, no. I’m not kidding. The Chalkboard Magazine ( one of my faves ) just dropped this bomb on us and I’m sorry, but I’m gonna get real with you guys for a second when I say, what the actual FUCK? Seriously. I mean, I can deal with a WHOLE LOT of sh*t-storm, but this? Isn’t my beauty routine LONG ENOUGH?!?

Your Computer Is Aging You.

Is it wrong of me to feel like I just freaking can’t even anymore?

I’m just going to hope that this all gets debunked soon because as much as I love skincare, I am going to FLIP OUT if I have one more person tell me my skincare needs YET ANOTHER step. Just STOP.

Your Computer Is Aging You.

It’s like first you got me on moisturizer, cleanser, face oils, face masks, sun protection, and I’m finally a toner convert. And as much as I love all of it, I can’t help but feel like, WTF MORE DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!

Your Computer Is Aging You.

I mean, I’ve done shit I never said I would do in the name of beauty.

I’ve sat here and misted my face. I’ve put raw honey on my face. I’ve drank beauty dust elixirs that taste like death at the hopes of plumper, softer, clearer skin. I’ve smelled up my apartment with essential oils and downed the metaphorical kool-aid, quite happily I might add, but this?

Your Computer Is Aging You.

Quit frankly, the fact that the blue light from my computer and iphone is aging me and cancelling out all of my skin efforts just pisses me the F off.

Apparently, MAKE Beauty makes a blue light protecting primer, but antioxidant serums might suffice to protect you from the LED tech light induced sun damage.

Your Computer Is Aging You.

Who even knows anymore? They’ll probably just come out with some other life-threatening (or beauty threatening) thing to scary the crap out of us with tomorrow. I’m not doing it! If I have to add one more product to my routine, I’m gonna lose it. I’m just saying.

If you want to get your protection, you can try one of these antioxidant serums shown, otherwise keep living your life and blast the finger to anyone who tries to pressure you into conforming. Or, you know, just say no 😛

P.S. This post is – mostly – just a joke. I love my antioxidant serums, but seriously, I’m not adding anymore steps to my routine. You can’t make me! LOL.

BTW, I’m sorry I haven’t been reading you as much as usual. I’ve kinda been keeping my routine to something simple and fell off the beauty band wagon

Helene! You’ll always be beautiful in my eyes – glasses or not! I already wear glasses thanks to too many computer games haha. and I’m glad you’re just gonna keep on living because it’s pretty ridiculous! And no worries! Everyone gets busy with life and all that jazz! Missed you and glad you’re back to visit, though 🙂 Hope you’ll drop by in October. I have a lot of exciting things planned 😉 sending you my love for fall!

I mean it probably is but in the same way being out in the sun on a nice day would. Beauty product sellers are going to find every new reason they can for you to buy stuff, but yeah I won’t be adding anything extra because of it either <3

good point, Izzy! I just can’t stand the idea of adding another step to my already extensive skin routine. that said, it might have validity to it, but I really don’t care lol. I totally agree that beauty product sellers are looking for any old reason to sell more stuff to us, but definitely not interested. I’ll use my antioxidant serums, but not for this reason and not as an added step. It’s just too much. thanks so much for stopping by!

Well, I definitely think my eyesight has downgraded like no other with all the school I’ve forced myself through, so this really should come as no surprise to me, but…SIGH. Maybe if I keep my laptop and phone super far away from me when I sleep…?

I know that the computer and phone was affecting my eyes but I never thought my skin! Interesting, but I don’t think I’ll add anything else to my routine!

I’d never heard of this! It just seems like we can’t win with all the things that negatively affect our skin…haha. I’m just going to keep up with my normal skincare routine and hope that works!
