A few months ago, I was beyond excited to win these in a giveaway. I mean, I’m pretty sure all green beauty enthusiasts have been coveting these skincare gems even if it’s just on their wish list. I certainly was so it really was a stroke of luck to win them in a contest; I couldn’t be more grateful.
As luck would also have it, these skincare products are completely worth the hype! They’re so uniquely made and packaged that I totally understand their luxury price point. It’s obvious that much thought has gone into the creation of each of them.
Beautiful Eco Chic MAHALO Skincare Review
The first thing you should know about these MAHALO Skincare products is that they are made with a tremendous amount of thought and attention to detail. I haven’t seen products this unique and downright beautiful since I first tried May Lindstrom Skincare. This level of skincare is absolute luxury and feels much more like a beauty ritual than a skincare routine. You’ll feel beautiful just using these and they work incredibly well.
The MAHALO Skincare Story
The dynamic husband-wife duo, Maryna and Mark Kracht, were inspired by their exotic home in Kauai, Hawaii, and have created their skincare line all on their own and make each item by hand. With the help of a very successful crowdfunding campaign in December 2014, they were able to create enough products to launch their line of precious beauty products. With a noticeable care for where their ingredients come from and where they’re made, they have worked to create a line filled with organic ingredients that are local, wild-harvested, and grown here in America. Their beeswax comes from their own honeybee hive. Red alaea clay and various plant ingredients all come from Hawaiian farmers and cultivators. Their stunning, stand-out, packaging is made from eco-friendly bamboo and includes beautiful laser-engraving. The philosophy behind MAHALO, which is a Hawaiian expression for “gratitude, esteem and respect,” is that with these beautiful skincare products, you will have a little piece of paradise always at arm’s length and a more mindful beauty experience.
Here’s what I received as part of the giveaway and I even got a lovely note from the MAHALO team of a thin strip of bamboo! I thought it was such a cool and eco-conscious way to send a nice note along with the products so I just had to share it. On top of that, the Pele Mask came with a handy bamboo spoon for scooping product into a bowl and mixing with a little water or honey, similar to how you would use May Lindstrom’s Problem Solver Mask.
The bamboo wood packaging of these products is unique, beautiful, and surprisingly lightweight. The branding and product names are laser-engraved directly onto the packaging so there’s very little waste to worry about. On top of that, the ingredients are potent plant ingredients which are locally and responsibly sourced from American farmers.
This face mask is AMAZING! It’s very similar in it’s effects and texture to May Lindstrom’s Problem Solver, though it’s a bit less intense during use and the ingredients are different. The standout ingredients in this one are the volcanic ash clay, Hawaiian red clay, Hawaiian black lava salt, hibiscus, papaya, turmeric, noni, guava, and sandalwod. The scent is very earthy and doesn’t upset my sinuses as much as getting near the Problem Solver Mask does (only in powder form; I’m fine once the water is mixed with it). It has the same fizzing activation effect as the Problem Solver does on contact with water, though you could make this even more mild a mask if you mixed it with honey or yogurt instead.
This might be an option for those who find the Problem Solver Mask to be too intense an experience as this one also doesn’t have the same warming sensation during use. That said, the results from using this mask are very similar. My skin, instantly, looks and feels clearer, smoother, and softer. When I apply my serums, face oils, and balms, I see a big difference in how well they are absorbed into my skin and how fresh my skin looks. This will keep my skin clear and radiant going into winter so I’m definitely a fan!

This balm has been a godsend all summer! It’s so incredibly nourishing but, at the same time, it’s light as well. I was surprised to discover this balm is made with a base of coconut oil as that particular ingredient has been known to break my skin out, but this did not irritate my skin at all. The balm is a bright orange color and also smells quite earthy, though it’s subtle and not too noticeable. Standout ingredients include macadamia oil, tamanu oil, rosehip oil, neem oil, kukui oil, hibiscus, turmeric, marigold, sandalwood, and carrot oil.
You really and truly only need the smallest amount of this balm to get the effects and it can do some incredible things! It hydrates my skin very well, it softens and soothes skin brilliantly after I’ve been in the sun, and it’s just generally a wonderful moisturizer for face and body. On top of that, I recently burned the bottom of my foot on some literal hot coals and this balm prevented it from 1. calmed inflammation and softened the skin that had been burnt and 2. totally prevented the burn from turning into a blister! It took the pain away entirely. I used the balm on my boyfriend’s sunburned shoulders last weekend and, within 2 days, it took away the inflammation, the heat and tenderness (the burn feeling) and even minimized any peeling he experienced. This stuff is amazing; I will forever have it on hand now that I’m convinced it possesses magical powers!
