Non-Toxic Halloween Makeup Ideas 2015

{ Glam Bride of Frankenstein Makeup }

This year, I tried to focus all of my Halloween makeup looks on being non-toxic and with the exception of a few products, I definitely think I succeeded! I did occasionally use Mehron Makeup which isn’t all that natural, but it is cruelty-free, non-toxic, and water-based which means it won’t clog pores, irritate your skin, doesn’t include animal ingredients, and it’s not heavy on the skin like most oil-based Halloween makeup you might find at the stores.

Any other products I used, for the most part, were all from natural and organic cosmetic brands so I’m really happy about that! I thought I’d share all my non-toxic Halloween makeup looks here on the blog as many of them have only been seen on my instagram this month as part of my #31DaystoCreepItWeird campaign 🙂 I hope these makeup looks inspire you to try some fun makeup looks this Halloween with more natural and organic makeup products; I promise it can be done! Non-Toxic Halloween Makeup Ideas 2015

This Frankenstein makeup look is a mash-up between Bride of Frankenstein (from the B&W film) and Frankenstein with a bit of glam to it so it’s really wearable and pretty. I loved the idea of stitches, but I didn’t want to look ugly or old with this one so I opted for the Bride of Frankenstein stitches (inspired by Rick Baker’s reimagining) combined with some pale face makeup mixed with a little bit of green to make me look pretty gross and sickly.

On top of that, I’ve paired the look with green smoky eyes, contour using grey and green shadows, and deep burgundy lips. I purchased this fun wig from Spirit Halloween for around $20! You can get the full product details on my instagram.

{ Harley Quinn Makeup }

This Harley Quinn makeup look is surprisingly easy to do! The only hard part is writing a J (for Joker) in blood on your cheek, but you can skip that and just bloody yourself up instead. The rest is super easy to achieve and you can tailor this to any kind of Harley Quinn costume for a look that’s more creepy than cute.

{ Skeleton Makeup }

This skeleton makeup look is a more detailed look than I previously did using non-toxic makeup, but you can see that it’s totally possible to achieve fun results with green beauty options for Halloween!

stitch doll makeup - non-toxic halloween makeup

{ Creepy Stitch Doll Makeup }

This stitch doll makeup is fun because it’s more spooky than scary and you can use whatever colors you have in your collection. I used purple and a deep ivy green because that’s what I had on hand, but you could do a dark blue and black, orange and black, orange and purple, or whatever funky colors you think would look cool together. I added freckles, but you can skip them, add more stitches, make cracks instead, or add pumpkins and spiders on your face. It’s totally up to you.

she devil makeup.

{ She-Devil Makeup }

This Devil makeup was surprisingly easy to do. Just get your nearest dark brown, grey or black eye shadow and layer it together with a burgundy or red shadow around your eyes. Use the lightest foundation you own and contour your face with light taupe brown or grey shadow for a creepy dead look. You can also paint your face in a light brown or all in red for creepier looks. I used attachable devil horns, but you can use a simple headband or draw some on your head if you want to keep it simple. Word of warning: the attachable devil horns are a total pain to use; definitely use spirit gum and latex to do it!

{ Easy Skeleton Makeup }

This is a totally simple skeleton makeup look. I’m not wearing foundation or any kind of base coat; I just applied the skeleton shading with a gel eyeliner from Jane Iredale and an angled eyeliner brush. You can put your regular foundation, paint your face white or skip all that and just go straight to making your eyes and nose hollow with stitches on your mouth. It’s super easy and anyone can do it.

{ The Mayor of Halloweentown from Nightmare Before Christmas Makeup }

This look was so hard to do; I’m not sure I am happy with it, to be honest, but it’s such a fun, unique idea for Tim Burton fans that I wanted to include it. This look might seem easy, but the smile, in particular, requires a lot of patience. Make sure you see how your face moves with this one so you can make sure the smile sits right (do as I say, not as I do lol).

      thanks so much Kiki! I’m really glad you like the looks 🙂 I love green beauty products so any time I can use them over other products, I definitely will. A lot of people think they won’t perform as well, but I like showing people that non-toxic beauty can be just as good as mainstream ones! have a great Halloween!
