A Case for Costumes

As you may know, I love Halloween. I look forward to dressing up every year, enjoy the festivities, and all that jazz, but I know that some of you may not feel the same way which is why I’ve decided to make a case for costumes. I think that if it’s been a long while since you last dressed up or if you have never been a lover of Halloween, you should try coming up with a costume this year; here’s why…

Why You Should Dress Up for Halloween this Year

Dressing Up Allows You to Unleash You Inner Child.

This is one of the few times of the year where it’s completely appropriate for adults (and children and pets) to dress up as whatever they like! You can dress up as a Disney princess, comic book hero or villain, or character from your movie and really have fun with it.

Picking A Halloween Costume or Making A Costume  Allows You to Express Yourself.

Much like makeup, Halloween costumes are a great way to express yourself. You can be a huge statement or express yourself through some detail Halloween makeup!

You Can Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone.

Dressing up forces you to get out of your comfort zone. Dress up as something crazy! You can be cute, creepy, sexy, or scary and just own it!

It’s A Conversation Starter to Meet New People.

Dressing up in a Halloween costume is not only fun, but it’s a great way to meet new people! What better way to start a conversation than to say you like someone’s costume or ask questions about how they came up with the idea? This is especially helpful for single people or anyone who wants to meet new friends!

It’s Fun!

Besides all the practical, emotional, and silly reasons, it’s a total blast to dress up for Halloween! Whether you do something really simple or elaborate, it’s a fun way to experience the spirit of the season, get out there, and have some new experiences.

Tianna, I love how you keep the spirit of Halloween alive!! Thanks for that. I enjoy following your instagram and seeing all your Halloween looks. You know, Halloween used to be my favorite time of the year for the exact same reasons that you listed here! But as I’ve gotten older and gotten married to someone who’s not as crazy about Halloween, I’ve lost the excitement for Halloween. But this year, I will make the effort! And no, I’m not just gonna dress in a skanky costume because that’s not even remotely creative.

thanks Kareen – I’m glad you enjoy my enthusiasm! I know what you mean. It’s easy to get all wrapped up in life or not be inspired when people around you aren’t. I have the same trouble with my bf, but I think I just try to overtake him with my excitement haha. He has to join in! 😛 Hope you have a great Halloween and yes, go creative instead of sleezy haha.

I’ve always loved dressing up for Halloween! It is so fun to pick out costumes-especially when you have kids. I’m excited to see which costume you decide to wear this year.
