Top 5 Face Moisturizers for Inflamed, Irritated & Sensitive Skin

Finding the best moisturizer for your skin, especially if that skin is sensitive or irritated in any way, can be one of the most difficult things to do when shopping for beauty, but there is hope! There are tons of options out there that can assist you in all your skincare needs and concerns for your specific skin type without aggravating existing conditions. Some can even help treat your skin issues! Here are my top 5 picks for keeping irritated, inflamed and sensitive skin hydrated and calm.

Suti Purity Balm

Suti Purity Balm

This Purity Organic Moisturizing Balm is my favorite for treating irritated and dehydrated skin! Created by one of my favorite all natural beauty brands, Suti Skincare, this balm is perfect for all skin types, but can be a lifesaver for those with irritated or sensitive skin. It’s all natural and includes skin calming ingredients like chamomile, calendula and lavender which help alleviate irritation while moisturizing dehydrated skin. This works best for those with dry, dehydrated, sensitive, normal or combination to dry skin types. You can see my original review for this balm here.

Egyptian Magic Skin Cream

Egyptian Magic Skin Cream

This Egyptian Magic Skin Cream is amazing! Minimal ingredients, this cream is perfect for those with the most sensitive, damaged or dry skin types. Formulated from an ancient Egyptian recipe, the cream includes skin nourishing olive oil, beeswax, honey and royal jelly to hydrate and renew skin. It also works well on minor cuts, scrapes, scars, and burns! Definitely avoid if you’re allergic to bees though! You can see my original review on this here.

Juice Beauty Soothing Serum

Juice Beauty Soothing Serum

I’m surprised I haven’t yet reviewed this Soothing Serum by Juice Beauty. I tried it ages ago and it’s quite a lovely serum for skin irritations. It’s a bit lighter than most other moisturizers for sensitive, irritated skin. It’s very light and includes all organic plant ingredients to help calm skin issues. I love how light the serum is and it smells lovely!

Zyderma HS Cream

If you’re dealing with skin inflammation and breakouts, but your skin is extremely reactive, I definitely recommend giving Zyderma Cream a go! It’s gentle, works great as a daily moisturizer, and won’t dry your skin out. It has wonderful ingredients to help skin heal and fight acne-causing bacteria. You can read my full review on this cream HERE.

Mahalo Rare Indigo Balm | Click through to see my Top 5 Natural Face Moisturizers for Inflamed, Irritated & Sensitive Skin

Mahalo Rare Indigo Balm

Mahalo is one of my favorite skincare brands because their products are very effective, luxurious, and gentle to use. The Rare Indigo Balm, in particular, is wonderful for soothing inflamed skin while lending hydration, healing, and being light enough for even the most reactive, acne prone skin types.

Yeah I love it for scarring, cuts and burns. It’s so soothing and it doesn’t irritate or clog pores despite being thick

I love your blog layout!! I finally have time to read/write blog posts again 🙂 I don’t have sensitive skin but I always wanted to try the philosophy brand!

    1. August 23, 2013 at 5:48 PM

Thank you! Glad to see you again girl! ♥ This product from Philosophy is great – haven’t tried much else. I tried their retinol acne treatment once. It was ok, but for me, it worked about a week and then stopped working. was so odd. other than that, I think they have great products ♥

I use oils when my skin is irritated. Figured out the skin heals better from the oils, rather than applying tea tree oil whenever I am breaking out.

    1. August 23, 2013 at 5:46 PM

That’s cool. It depends on what kind of issues I’m having. For breakouts, tea tree oil works amazingly for me. For sensitive redness or dryness, I prefer oils as well ♥
