Good Medicine Beauty Lab Review

I’m beyond excited to share my thoughts on the Good Medicine Beauty Lab products I’ve been trying out since August, you guys! Not only are these products gentle, effective, and lovely, but there is so much thought put into each one that it makes for quite a skincare experience. I love the ethos of this brand and everything they stand for. From the intention for each product to the process for their product ingredients and formulation, this brand is truly something special.

About the Brand

Good Medicine Beauty Lab harnesses the potent power of their dessert home by utilizing a variety of powerful plant ingredients that are found in their area. Utilizing unique plants, GMBL offers skincare products that work in synergy with your body. Intuitively, GMBL uses a unique delivery system for skin that’s chock full of vitamins and minerals. They create products that utilize gentle skin-cleansing plant-based acids (like BHA and AHA in their natural forms) and intuitive aromatherapy blends to soothe your soul as well as your skin. All GMBL products are made by hand. All ingredients are sourced from sustainable suppliers, local whenever possible, and made in the USA. Moreover, nothing is EVER tested on animals and everything is GMO- Free.

Healing Oils

I tried 3 different healing oils from GMBL. My favorite of the bunch was the Lomi Lomi Body Oil. Not only does it smell AMAZING (like a tropical getaway), but it’s wonderfully hydrating straight out of the shower! The Steaming Stones Oil is very soothing on sore muscles, but I’m not a fan of the smell. That said, it serves a practical purpose for anyone who works out often and does it’s job well.

The Wild Child Hair Oil is a total gem if you have damaged hair like me! Use it on your ends before a shower and it helps with everything from dry ends to frizz, volume, and shine. I like keeping this one in for at least 30 minutes to an hour to really get the full benefits. You could even leave it in overnight, but I’m not a morning person and never tried it.

Fall Clean Beauty Haul

Genius Skincare for Clear Skin

Okay, so we’ve come to my favorite 3 products from Good Medicine Beauty Lab (which was a HARD decision to make, by the way!!). Using these 3 products together is a GODSEND for acne, dull skin, and sun spots. It’s a seriously killer combination for anyone with troubled skin. The Ashes Cleansing Grains is my personal favorite and I’ll be re-purchasing this once I run out. The cleansing grains come in a powder form which you mix with water.

It’s similar to May Lindstrom’s The Clean Dirt Cleanser in that it, too, foams up upon contact with water. Form a paste and massage it into your skin and the results feel almost instantaneous! Literally, my skin feels new with every use. On top of that, the cleansing grains can be used with your shampoo to give your scalp a good scrub. My boyfriend suffers from psoriasis on his scalp and this stuff does WONDERS for him!

These 3 skincare products are a seriously killer combination for anyone with troubled skin.

I’m not a huge fan of the smell, really, but the effects can’t be denied! The Purity Tonic is one of those toners that feels like it’s doing nothing, but actually works wonders. A quick swipe with a cotton pad and some of this toner helps keep breakouts and dry skin at bay without feeling abrasive at all.

Last, but not least, is the Clarity Cream. I am in LOVE with this face cream! I find it so hard to fall in love with face creams, but this one is incredible. It’s just hydrating enough to keep my skin happy and soft, but feels balancing and clarifying as well. The formula keeps breakouts away and heals existing ones while making my skin feel brighter and more even toned.

I’ll definitely be re-purchasing this one as well! The brilliant part about this cream is that any acne prone skin type will love it. Normally, I find that acne creams can be too drying or not hydrating enough, but this one is just right. Dry and oily skin types with acne will love this cream!

Soothing Skincare for Fall

If you’re looking for a few lovely skincare products to add to your routine for fall, these are a great choice. The Starry Eyes Brightening Eye Cream is light, but hydrating and soothing, and doesn’t cause milia. For someone like me who struggles with eye creams, that’s a big win! You only need the smallest amount to hydrate the eye area so I can imagine this cream lasting me a long time.

The Rain Cleansing Oil is one I was attracted to just for it’s awesome name, but it turns out that it’s actually a wonderful cleansing oil as well! It’s thick and works really well for removing makeup while also gently cleansing and soothing your skin. You only need 1-2 pumps to get the job done so it will last you a good while. In addition, I find that this cleansing oil is both healing and clarifying to skin without being too drying or abrasive. One thing that Good Medicine Beauty Lab truly gets 100% right is the balance within their product formulas. Color me freaking impressed!

The Every Little Thing Balm is healing and soothing and I LOVE the packaging! It just feels magical! The balm is perfect for anyone with combination skin, but I think if you have a dry skin type, you may need something a little more nourishing. This is brilliant for hydrating lips and soothing spots, but it didn’t do much for the chapped skin on my nose, sadly. #AllergyProblems That said, it’s a wonderful multipurpose balm that I will likely repurchase for it’s many uses as a salve, lip balm, and spot treatment to soothe irritation.

Passion Aromatherapy Mist Botanical Perfume

This Red. Aromatherapy Passion Mist Botanical Perfume is the only product I didn’t really like from GMBL. The scent reminds me a whole lot of my grandmother. Lots of antique rose in this one. I know a lot of people love that particular rose scent, but I’m not one of them so it’s really personal preference. All of that considered, I do love the idea behind this mist which is to encourage passion, attraction, romance and adventure. I love aromatherapy mists, but my boyfriend and I agree that it didn’t increase our passion; only our remembrance of late grandmothers. Sadly, I’m not a fan, but if rose is your thing, then you may love this 😉
