5 Beauty Rules You Should Break Right Now

You know what I’m tired of? Stupid beauty rules. Every day I open my inbox and it rolls out a thousand more “rules” I supposedly need to follow. The haircut I need to get this year. The eye shadows I need to use. AND the ones I’m not supposed to use, too. It all leaves me in a rebellious state, like, don’t tell me what to do!

Maybe I’m just a non-conformist at heart, but I’m tired of the beauty rules. If you’re looking for a post that will tell you what NOT to do, this isn’t that. This post is all about the rules you need to start breaking. Like, right freaking now!

5 Beauty Rules You Should Break Right Now!

5 Beauty Rules You Should Break Right Now

Don’t Wear certain All the Eye Shadow Colors!

Why is this a rule? Not to be blunt, but if you can only wear 3 of the 9484958094 eye shadow colors that are on offer, what’s the fucking point? Makeup is for experimenting with. Makeup is for self-expression and fun. Makeup is not for restricting our lives even more and sticking to the same sorry neutrals. #SorryNotSorry I will be wearing all the colors even after age 30. Suck on that, Glamour Magazine.

Don’t Wear certain All the Lipstick Colors!

Again, what’s the point of this rule? To steal joy from those of us who love all the lipstick colors? I love them all and I shall wear them all. I get so many readers saying they can’t wear certain lipstick colors; it’s ridiculous! Ladies, you can wear whatever colors you like. All you need is a little conviction to do it already! I promise you will look like a #GirllBoss when you finally do it.

Don’t Wear Dark Eyeliner.

Telling me not to wear dark eyeliner is like telling me not to live! I mean, okay, maybe you shouldn’t layer it on panda style, but you can wear dark eye liners with a few helpful tips and that goes for all women, of all ages.

Don’t Use Face Oils they cause acne.

Ugh this one kills me. Face oils do not break you out!  If you use the right face oils for your skin type, then you may find that your skin improves ten fold. Face oils can heal acne, diminish fine lines and age spots, brighten and hydrate skin, AND improve skin texture. They are the literal bee’s knees and if you are not using them, you are missing out!

Don’t Use Natural Skincare – it doesn’t work.

This one is so annoying; I literally can’t even. Natural skincare is nothing if not effective. I mean, yes, it’s true that you can’t just use baking soda for the rest of your life (unless you want to, I guess) and expect to get good skin, BUT natural skincare brands are amazing and can truly improve skin for the better. This is especially true if acne, fine lines, and hyper pigmentation are of concern. So, stop waiting and give it a go. I created a list of the best green beauty brands on the market so you don’t have to worry about searching for a good one.

The whole match your foundation to your jaw. I get it. Butmy face is darker then my neck and chest and I like matching it to that.

I love these! I avoid some lipsticks and eye shadows because they just don’t work with my skin tone but I don’t only wear the ones that are “perfect” for me. 🙂 You are right that is boring.

Thanks Lisa! I’m glad you like them 🙂 I get what you mean; that’s all fine. Of course we all will pick what we think looks good on us and that’s how it should be. I’m only referring to constantly sticking to neutrals because it’s on trend or never wearing blue eye shadow again. I think makeup and beauty should be fun! 🙂 thanks for stopping by!
