Odacite A Spring in Tokyo Serum Review

I was kindly sent the Odacité A Spring in Tokyo Serum from Petal and Post and I couldn’t be more thrilled if I wanted to! Seriously, Odacité is one of those coveted green beauty brands and I had yet to try out their private collection of serums which are so praised by people. I did try a tiny sample vial of one once, but how can I get the full experience from that, you know?! One thing I will say is that they have their essential oil blends perfected to a T. The little sample I tried and this serum both smell wonderful without being too overpowering which is a big plus for me as overwhelming scents tend to give me a headache. Moreover, the A Spring in Tokyo Serum is really wonderful for winter and spring so read on 😉

Odacite A Spring in Tokyo Serum Review

I love the texture of this serum. It’s perfect for transition months when it’s still freezing out, but it’s also light enough to still be great to use when spring finally hits. The scent is somewhere between citrus and floral, in my opinion. The floral notes really come through in this, but hints of grapefruit give it a nice uplifting feel that feels so nice to use on early mornings. On the flip side, it makes a great night treatment because it’s chock full of potent plant oils and essences to help heal, hydrate, and give your skin a nice glow. It’s incredibly gentle and doesn’t cause any redness to my skin (which some serums do) so I think those with skin that’s more on the sensitive side might be okay to try this one as it’s very soothing. I can see this serum helping my skin even out tone and healing some of my acne scars which is brilliant because some serums take forever to show any kind of result and I was already seeing a difference in the first week of using this which, for me, is not a common occurrence (how’s that for fast results?). I think it’s brilliant when added to creams for more hydration and it’s definitely helped my skin stay moisturized. I have been combining it with the Graydon Green Cream, to great effect, on days when my skin feels raw, irritated, or just really dry. Maybe I’m getting old because this is the first winter I’ve experienced flaky skin around my eyes and nose. That’s something I never dealt with in the past as I typically have oily/combination and acne prone skin so I was really grateful to have this serum on hand for that.

One thing I will say about combining the Green Cream with this serum is that the smell isn’t great. The Green Cream smells like literal greens (cilantro or parsley, maybe?) so it has an exotic spicy smell that, while I don’t mind it alone, doesn’t go great with the floral notes in this. That said, they’re brilliant for dry patches so I dealt with it because the scents fade after they absorb into your skin anyway. If you don’t want to put both on your entire face, you could mix a tiny amount together and just dab onto dry patches which would minimize you having to deal with the strange mixing of scents. All in all, I really love this serum on it’s own and mixed with other products! I’ve mixed it with the Green Cream, my sunscreen, and other serums to great effect so I like that it’s super versatile. Moreover, I really love the ingredients in this serum: healing camellia and tamanu oils combine with hydrating hazelnut oil, carrot seed is a great natural source of vitamin A (the ultimate fighter of wrinkles, people!), and pink grapefruit is wonderful for brightening skin. There are a ton of other potent plant oils as well, but too many to name, so see the full list below ♥

it is so lovely! It’s a wonderful treatment for the skin on it’s own or added to face creams 🙂 I really loved the story behind it’s formulation as well. I’m so fascinated by Japanese culture whether Kabuki or Geisha or anything so it was so cool to read about that! Glad you enjoyed Helene ♥
