 Why I Started Blogging...

Why I Started Blogging…

In my first “chit chat” type video on my YouTube channel,I decided to share a bit about why I started blogging, what led me to the world of green beauty products, and how I ended up in this space.  I wasn’t really sure what to talk about since this was my first chatty video so I hope you enjoy it!

If videos aren’t for you, that’s okay! I’m going to share a bit about why I started blogging with you here as well!

I first started blogging back in March 2012. With the intention of promoting my natural beauty products over on etsy, I quickly realized that making products is incredibly hard. So, I moved away from making products and went toward trying and reviewing natural brands.

I wanted to focus on promoting brands that were eco-friendly, natural yet effective, cruelty-free, and doing good things in their community.

I was in a pretty dark place when I first started blogging and it’s helped me a LOT in terms of coming out of my shell. Struggling with anxiety, stress, and depression, blogging gave me something to look forward to. It gave me a forum to experiment in. To connect with people who love the same things I do. Also, I was able to get away from my situation at that time.

Blogging has been my escape and my therapy in a lot of ways. It’s inspired me to live a more conscious, mindful life. It has inspired me in other aspects of my life. Blogging has given me many new opportunities and made things possible that never would have been without you all.

So, thank you for being here on this journey with me. It means the world to me. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do 🙂

Those are truly great reasons to start blogging! Anxiety is something I deal with and bloging has help me deal with it, while also distracting me from even thinking about it. I stared blogging over 2 years ago, with intend of having something that is “mine”! I think at that moment I had lots of changes happening and was needing something that wasn’t part of my other roles and solely just mine 🙂

thanks so much, Melissa! I totally agree with you. Anxiety is definitely a struggle and blogging/vlogging helps me to deal and to move past my own insecurities as well. It’s done a lot for me. I’m glad you have a place that’s all your own and have found comfort in this community as well 🙂 Thanks for visiting me! xx

I’m so glad you started a blog! :]! You’re my go-to source for cruelty-free green beauty, hehehe. I initially started my blog as a way to keep a couple of my friends updated on my life since I was moving across the country (also because I’ve always kept a journal + like to write)…and also to have a place to stash all the recipes I tried! 😀

I got started after reading about another female blogger in her fifties. Having no PC skills I decided to give it a go. I haven’t looked back! I’m not saying that it’s been stress free though! x

I started blogging as a way to help others. On my journey I discovered writing was very therapeutic. I have learned a lot since I started blogging. I still have not arrived, because of life changes that are continually going on. I also
discovered I like to blog and it is fun as well.

I always love finding out why other people started blogging! I actually started when I was stuck in bed after surgery. #weekendblogshare

I hope you enjoyed hearing my story! That’s crazy. I always hear people sharing how they were stuck in bed after surgeries or some injury and they begin blogging. I think that’s so cool and what a way to heal yourself. Thanks for stopping by, Brittany!
