White and Elm Skincare Review

I recently had the chance to try out some products from White and Elm Skincare, a wonderful green beauty brand which focuses on offering seriously simple natural products in which all the ingredients used in them are 100% all natural and non-toxic. On top of that, their products are hand crafted in small batches locally and are all formulated with 10 ingredients or less that are all minimally processed and source from fair trade suppliers and certified organic farms. Pretty awesome, right? Aside from their lovely products being crafted with natural ingredients, they are also cruelty free, vegan, organic and plant-powered which makes them super friendly for anyone who cares for animals and the well being of our planet.

Tea Tree and Lavender Acne Spot Serum

One thing that really stood out for me about this spot treatment serum is that it’s super gentle. It doesn’t burn going on or feel drying; on the contrary, it feels very hydrating and nourishing. I love the simplicity of ingredients and the fact that this heals blemishes with gentle ingredients. I think this would work really well for dry and sensitive skin types who have acne prone skin or just the occasional spot. I’m not sure it would work well for oily or acne prone skin types, but it just depends on your skin. It does come in a convenient roller ball applicator, though, so you can definitely control the amount that you use and minimize the amount you put on your skin. Also, it eliminates the need to touch your skin or the blemish which I think is really cool for those who worry about the spread of bacteria. I love that the ingredients are so wholesome and healing and include tea tree and lavender as the active essential oils to help heal spots gently. I think this is a great option for those with combination acne prone skin in the winter, but maybe not in the summer. I just don’t like the oily feeling on my skin during the summer, but during the winter it’s been great for healing blemishes so I really enjoy it for that!

Ingredients: Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil*, Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seed Oil*, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Seed Oil*, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Essential Oil*, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Essential Oil*,
and Mixed Tocopherols (Vitamin E) Oil Non-GMO *Organic Ingredient

Sunflower Deep Pore Cleansing Oil

This cleansing oil was a star product for me. It’s such a simple cleansing oil, very thick in consistency, and it leaves a small amount of residue so if you don’t like that, use a warm washcloth to wipe this off to minimize that feeling on your skin. Other than that, it’s brilliant for removing makeup, cleansing skin, hydrating and revitalizing skin that’s experiencing dullness, and it smells lovely. I also tried this out in the shower as a kind of body shower oil and it worked really well! It leaves your skin super soft and pretty after using it and I love that about it. I’m not sure it would be ideal for summer as it might be a little too heavy for some, but I personally love this and I found it really shines for body shower oil uses and also as a makeup remover. Also, I love the scent of this; it’s very relaxing.

Ingredients: Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil*, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil*, Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seed Oil* , Citrus Aurantium (Neroli) Essential Oil*, Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile) Essential Oil*, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Essential Oil* and Mixed Tocopherols (Vitamin E) Oil Non-GMO , *Organic Ingredient

Chamomile Balancing Facial Toner

This toner is super gentle and surprisingly hydrating. I love the scent of it as well! I was surprised by how much it actually really does soothe and calm the skin. Many toners claim to hydrate and soothe and really end up just feeling like a whole lot of water on my skin, but this genuinely seems to help hydrate, nourish and soften which I really like. The scent of chamomile is noticeable in this one which I love because I find chamomile very relaxing, but if you’re not a fan of chamomile, this might not be for you. I think this is a lovely toner for any and all skin types, even acne prone types as it’s not drying, but soothing and softening to skin which I think all of us could use a bit more of.

Ingredients: Matricaria Recutita (Chamomile) Hydrosol*, Glycerin (Vegetable)*, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice*, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract*, Salvia Sclarea (Clary Sage) Essential Oil*, and Santalum Spicatum (Sandalwood) Essential Oil*, *Organic Ingredient

Rose & Argan Antioxidant Serum

Last, but not least, I tried out a small sample of this serum and it really stood out to me because a tiny amount of this serum went a long way and really made a big difference! I don’t know about long term effects as the sample was quite small, but the serum itself was lovely. The scent was pleasantly herbal and light, the consistency was thick so you only need the tiniest amount to get the benefits and it’s not heavy on the skin at all.

Ingredients: Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Vitis Vinifera (Grapeseed) Oil*, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Seed Oil*, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil*, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil*, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Oil*, Citrus Sinensis (Sweet Orange) Essential Oil*, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Essential Oil*, and Mixed Tocopherols (Vitamin E) Oil Non-GMO, *Organic Ingredient

What I Love ♥

One thing I noticed about White and Elm products is the fact that their products are seriously gentle and nourishing. Nothing feels abrasive or drying, not even their acne spot serum, and everything seems focused on healing, hydrating and calming the skin. The subtle scents of each product are lovely, yet not overpowering, and the efficacy is impressive for products that contain 10 ingredients or less! I do like a strong product that contains actives, but I can appreciate the fact that these products are so simple and effective at healing skin over time without any harsh ingredients. I love their commitment to using only a limited number of ingredients that anyone can understand without a chemistry degree. I love their gorgeous, clean apothecary style packaging and I think these are super affordable. Even if you don’t want to buy the full sizes, you can safely try any of their product minis for half price which is fantastic if you want to sample things before you commit to one particular item.

I’ve never tried White and Elm, but I’m definitely intrigued. The Sunflower Deep Pore Cleansing Oil and Rose & Argan Antioxidant Serum sound especially lovely. I’ll have to give this brand a try!

This was my first experience with them and I really loved the cleansing oil so much! the Antioxidant serum was lovely as well, though I tried a small sample so not sure the long term results since it’s marketed as antioxidant/anti-aging. Definitely recommend the toner and cleansing oil though – those were big faves for me from this brand!
