Get Glowing ♥

I’ve been trialing this natural vitamin C treatment from True Botanicals for several months now. It was kindly sent to me from the brand to test out and review and I’m happy to report back my personal experiences! One thing I really love about this treatment is that it comes in powder form so it takes much longer to lose it’s potency and expire like other vitamin C serums on the market. It’s also great to use with a variety of serums which I think makes this particular treatment extremely versatile.

This is one of those treatments that was love at first sight for me. They brilliantly include a perfect amount of vitamin C powder which is meant to be mixed with your choice of serum or face oil . It has a bit of a tingle when applied, especially if you exfoliate beforehand. The results of this treatment speak for themselves! I’ve seen instantly brighter skin the morning after using this every single time. I’ve mixed it with a number of face oils, balms, and serums, but I’ve mainly used the A Spring In Tokyo Serum and MAHALO Rare Indigo Balm. I use about a nickel amount of the oil or balm mixed with one capsule of the vitamin C powder treatment each time.

Notable Ingredients

Vitamin C (l-ascorbic acid)

Vitamin C is the star ingredient of this product for a reason, people! Vitamin C does wonders for skin-brightening because it’s a potent antioxidant. Antioxidants can help fight off cell damage and repair existing issues while also fighting free radicals. Moreover, vitamin C can be one of the most effective ways to encourage cell turnover and collagen/elastin production which helps fight aging and repair skin tissue.

Ferulic Acid

Ferulic acid is known for it’s effectiveness when combined with vitamin C. This potent plant antioxidant has been used in high end skincare for years because it can help double photo protection (protection from sun damage) including rays that cause redness (inflammation) and sun burns.

Licorice Root

Licorice root is amazing for it’s skin-brightening properties and can help to soothe, brighten and lighten skin. It’s commonly used in serums because it can help to lighten age/sun spots, even out skin tone, and soothe inflammation.

How to Use: Mix 1 capsule with selected serum or face oil in palm of hand until dissolved. Then, apply mixture to your face, neck and chest as desired. Use at night after cleanser, mist and face oil. Do NOT use during the day to avoid making your skin photosensitive (sensitive to sunburn and sun damage). The morning after using this treatment, I recommend you DEFINITELY wear sunscreen otherwise you can counteract the brightening effects of this. If irritation develops, discontinue use and consult a physician.

Ingredients: Active ingredients: l-ascorbic acid, dipotassium glycyrrhizate, ferulic acid. Inactive ingredient: tapioca starch.

Definitely a fan of using l-ascorbic acid in my skincare but this looks so much fun- I love the concept of putting all the goodness of a mask a in capsule! Sweet share 🙂
