I’m back with another awesome review in partnership with one of my favorite eco luxury shops, Petal and Post, and the timing literally could not have been any better because guess what?! Today is my blogiversary! That’s right, I’ve been blogging for 4 years today. How insane is that? Be sure to scroll ALL THE WAY DOWN for a nice surprise to celebrate with me!

Ursa Major Daily Skin Care Set Review

I was kindly sent this Ursa Major Daily Skin Care Set for review and I have been loving it for a number of reasons. The first is that these products are brilliantly packaged and lovely to travel with and the second is that they work brilliantly! This is one of the few brands I’ve tried that I think literally any and all skin types would fare well with and that’s saying something. A lot of the time, I’m trying skincare treatments or serums and I find they might not work for everyone’s skin concerns, but this one is weirdly simple and strangely effective without being too complicated and I think lots of people could benefit!

A Little Bit About Ursa Major Super Natural Skincare

Named after the constellation, Ursa Major Skincare seeks to provide healthy, natural skincare with sublime results and a luxury skin experience that is truly enjoyable to use. They promise to offer products formulated with 98-100% natural and 51-83% organic ingredients. They also pledge to offer products without filler ingredients using advanced natural actives and potent formulas that are effective and awesomely made without any potentially harmful or chemical ingredients. Their products are cruelty-free and gluten-free as well.

After trialing the products in the Ursa Major Daily Skin Care Set, I think there’s something to be said for using all the same brand products in a skincare routine. It definitely seems to make all the products a lot more effective, at least in this case. I’ve noticed my skin is incredibly balanced, calm, and clear since I began using this and I started out with several breakouts on my chin, jawline, and forehead thanks to that time of the month. Those are all gone now (yay!) thanks to this set. One thing I think really makes this set is the fact that they are not over-complicated or bogged down by crazy or exotic ingredients. Instead, a select blend of simple natural and organic plant oils, essences, and extracts are formulated into products that work well together.

Essential Face Wipes // Aloe, witch hazel, apple, green tea, and willow bark are included in the formula of these awesome bamboo face wipes which work well to soothe, hydrate, fight off acne-causing bacteria, brighten, and tone skin while on the go. These are all individually wrapped so they are seriously perfect for traveling. They’re super gentle and the wipes are made of 100% bamboo fibers so they’re eco-friendly and sustainable to use without worrying about causing a bunch of waste. Moreover, they’re awesome for removing makeup, refreshing tired skin, or other multitude of uses whenever you need them. They’re great to keep in your handbag for removing makeup right after work, on a hot day, or just to wipe your hands off when you might not be near a bathroom. I’ve also used these to remove makeup before my nightly cleansing and that works quite well also. I don’t think I would use these as a facial cleansing replacement, but they are great for traveling and for removing eye and face makeup before cleansing.

Ingredients: Aloe Vera Leaf Juice (Aloe Barbadensis)*, Water/Aqua/Eau, Witch Hazel Leaf Water (Hamamelis Virginiana), Willow Bark Extract (Salix Nigra), Rosemary Leaf/Flower Water (Rosmarinus Officinalis), Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin*, Sugar Cane Extract (Saccharum Officinarum), Lemon Extract (Citrus Medica Limonum), Orange Fruit Extract (Citrus Aurantium Dulcis), Apple Fruit Extract (Pyrus Malus), Green Tea Leaf Extract (Camellia Sinensis), Rice Seed Extract (Oryza Sativa)*, Birch Sap (Betula Alba), Lactobacillus, Bamboo Ferment Filtrate (Arundinaria Gigantea), Caprylyl/Capryl Wheat Bran/Straw Glycosides, Fusel Wheat Bran/Straw Glycosides, Polyglyceryl-5 Oleate, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Glyceryl Caprylate, Olive Leaf Extract (Olea Europaea), Fir Needle Oil (Pseudotsuga Menziesii), Lavender Flower Oil (Lavandula Angustifolia)*, Rosemary Leaf Oil (Rosmarinus Offinalis), Geranium Leaf/Flower Oil (Pelargonium Graveolens)*, Frankincense Resin Extract (Boswellia Carterii), Alcohol Denatured*

*Organic Ingredient / Highest-grade natural ingredients (99.9% natural, 53% organic), sourced wherever possible from family-owned, sustainable growers. / Wipe Substrate: 100% Bamboo Fiber

Fantastic Face Wash // This is one of my favorite non-oil based face washes I’ve ever tried. It has a gel texture to it and feels very similar to your conventional face cleansers, but it’s a lot more natural and gentle on the skin. It won’t dry skin out, but instead feels very soothing, calming and balancing. It definitely leaves my skin feeling cleansed, but it doesn’t leave it feeling super dry like a lot of other gel cleansers do. It does have a little bit of a milky lather and don’t get it in your eyes; it burns like hell! That said, this cleanser includes some awesome plant ingredients such as white tea, lemon, orange, lime, grapefruit, aloe, and spearmint to gently brighten, soothe, tone, and balance your skin. I love that it’s formulated in a base of aloe vera juice (like most of the Ursa Major skin products) because it means the products aren’t just watered down in a sea of water. Instead, they’re encased in soothing aloe for the perfect calming skin experience. I love that and it’s definitely showing in the clarity of my skin.

Ingredients: Aloe Vera Leaf Juice (Aloe Barbadensis)*, Lauryl Glucoside, Coco-Glucoside, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, Inulin, Glyceryl Laurate, Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Xylitylglucoside, Anhydroxlitol, Xylitol, Rice Seed Extract (Oryza Sativa)*, Sugar Cane Extract (Saccharum Officinarum), White Tea Leaf Extract (Camellia Sinensis)*, Lemon Extract (Citrus Medica Limonum), Orange Fruit Extract (Citrus Aurantium Dulcis), Apple Fruit Extract (Pyrus Malus), Green Tea Leaf Extract (Camellia Sinensis), Black Spruce Needle Oil (Picea Mariana), Fir Needle Oil (Pseudotsuga Menziesii), Rosemary Leaf/Flower Water (Rosmarinus Officinalis), Lavender Flower Water (Lavandula Angustifolia), Pink Grapefruit Peel Oil (Citrus Paradisi), Lime Peel Oil (Citrus Aurantifolia), Owyhee Leaf Oil (Artemisia Ludoviciana), Cedar Wood Oil (Juniperus Virginiana), Tanacetum Anuum Flower Oil (Tanacetum Anuum)*, Spikenard Root (Nardostachys Chinensis), Vetivert Root Oil (Vetiveria Zizanioiedes), Spearmint Leaf Oil (Mentha Spicata), Sodium Phytate, PCA Glyceryl Oleate, Citric Acid, Gluconolactone, Sodium Benzoate

*Organic Ingredient / Highest-grade natural ingredients (99.5% natural, 51% organic), sourced wherever possible from family-owned, sustainable growers.

4-in-1 Essential Face Toner // The 4-in-1 face tonic is great because it actually includes natural AHA & BHA (apple and willow bark) which gently exfoliate skin while it works to soothe and hydrate with aloe and witch hazel alongside birch sap and radish root which tone, tighten and reduce redness. I love that the main bases in this toner formula are organic aloe juice and witch hazel because it means the solution isn’t just a bunch of essences or extracts in a sea of water so, again, I like that it’s not diluting the potency of the formula. It definitely helps remove any traces of dirt leftover when you’re done cleansing and preps the skin for the amazing Fortifying Balm ♥

Ingredients: Aloe vera leaf juice (Aloe barbadensis)*, Water/aqua/eau, Witch hazel leaf water (hamamelis virginiana), Willow bark extract (salix nigra), Rosemary leaf/flower water (rosmarinus officinalis), Leuconostoc/radish root ferment filtrate, Sodium hyaluronate, Glycerin*, Sugar cane extract (saccharum officinarum), Lemon extract (citrus medica limonum), Orange fruit extract (citrus aurantium dulcis), Apple fruit extract (pyrus malus), Green tea leaf extract (camellia sinensis), Rice seed extract (oryza sativa)*, Birch sap (betula alba), Lactobacillus, Bamboo ferment filtrate (arundinaria gigantea), Caprylyl/capryl wheat bran/straw glycosides, Fusel wheat bran/straw glycosides, Polyglyceryl-5 oleate, Sodium cocoyl glutamate, Glyceryl caprylate, Olive leaf extract (olea europaea), Fir needle oil (pseudotsuga menziesii), Lavender flower oil (lavandula angustifolia)*, Rosemary leaf oil (rosmarinus offinalis), Geranium leaf/flower oil (pelargonium graveolens)*, Frankincense resin extract (boswellia carterii), Alcohol denatured*

*Organic Ingredient / Highest-grade natural ingredients (99.5% natural, 51% organic), sourced wherever possible from family-owned, sustainable growers.

Fortifying Face Balm // Last, but definitely not least is my favorite product of this set: the Forifying Face Balm. It’s different from any other face balm I’ve tried because it doesn’t feel like a balm. The consistency of this feels like a runny lotion, almost, but with a lot of hydration in the formula. It’s very light, but extremely hydrating and similar to the Graydon Green Cream, but with a way better scent, in my opinion. Moreover, the consistency is a lot more runny than creamy and you really need a small amount to cover your entire face, neck and chest. It’s lovely and smells so great. Again, it doesn’t look or feel like a balm at all, but it does hydrate and soften like one. It also has some similar ingredients to the other products in this set like the base of aloe vera juice alongside witch hazel, willow bark, spearmint, rosemary and lavender. The difference with the balm, however, is that it also includes hydrating sunflower seed and kendi seed oils, olive and carrot which work to provide anti-aging benefits similar to that of vitamin A (retinol), and birch which helps tone skin and soothe redness.

Ingredients: Aloe Vera Leaf Juice (Aloe Barbadensis)* Glycerin, Hydrolyzed Myrtus Communis Leaf Extract*, Sunflower Seed Oil (Helianthus Annuus)*, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Caprylic/Captric Triglyceride, Witch Hazel Leaf Water (Hamamelis Virginiana), Willow Bark Extract (Salix Nigra), Kendi Seed Oil (Aleurites Moluccana), Opuntia Fuscus-Indica Stem Extract, Carrot Seed Oil (Daucus Carota), Hydrogenated Lecithin, Birch Sap (Betula Alba), Olive Leaf Extract (Olea Europaea), Sclerotium Gum, Lavender Flower Oil (Lavandula Angustifolia)*, Lime Peel Oil (Citrus Aurantifolia), Niaouli Leaf Oil (Melaleuca Quinquenervia)*, Frankincense Resin Extract (Boswellia Carterii), Bisabolol Wood Oil (Vanillosmopsis Erythropappa), Spearmint Leaf Oil (Mentha Spicata), Carrageenan (Chondrus Crispus), Rosemary Leaf Extract (Rosmarinus Offinalis)*, Maltodextrin, Spearmint Leaf Extract (Mentha Spicata), Xantham Gum, P-Anisic Acid

*Organic Ingredient / Highest-grade natural ingredients (100% natural, 82% organic), sourced wherever possible from family-owned, sustainable growers.

Overall, I find these products to be incredibly impressive! Ursa Major found a unique way to create products that include soothing, hydrating, and balancing ingredients without making any of them overly abrasive, drying or heavy. They’re just right in every way and that’s something special that most products can’t claim, in my opinion, so I’m happy to be able to experience them. I will definitely be repurchasing these! Of course, they’re not skin treatments like face serums or oils that are meant to combat specific skin issues, but as far as daily use goes, these are definitely elite.
