True Nature Botanicals Hair Care Review

The Holy Grail of Natural Hair Care

You may have seen my previous post on True Nature Botanicals where I talked about how much I’ve been loving their skincare line and now I’ve been lucky enough to get a first look at their newly released hair care products! If you missed the True Nature Botanicals skincare review, let me fill you in on a little bit of what makes True Nature Botanicals products so special.

Firstly, they use only the top quality natural and organic plant ingredients in their products.

Secondly, they base their ingredient selection on both safety and effectiveness through a ton of research. They also use a lot of marine extracts and other potent plant essences to deliver you the best beauty results and guess what? Their products show noticeable results. Their lineup is one of the very few where I liked every single product I tried. Everything was just phenomenal and I’l be repurchasing them all, bit by bit, as I run out. Now onto their latest hair care products!

The True Nature Botanicals shampoo is wonderful!

The first thing I noticed about it is that it smells exactly like the citrus scent they spray when you’re riding Soaring Over California at California Adventure. I’m going to attribute that to their inclusion of orange peel in this formula which smells incredible and really makes hair cleansing feel energizing and refreshing. Besides the lovely scent, this shampoo works incredibly well.

It actually offers an awesome lather when cleaning hair, but it’s completely free of any toxins, synthetic fragrances and harsh surfactants like SLS or SLES.

This is seriously impressive as most natural shampoos have little to no lather. My previous holy grail shampoo and conditioner does a pretty decent job, but True Nature Botanicals does it better. The shampoo formula is also unique in that they’ve included green tea oil which not only helps to give a potent dose of antioxidants to your locks, but also helps work as a gentle scalp exfoliant, sloughing off dead skin cells and helping your hair look healthier, have more volume, and encourages healthy hair growth. They also include meadowfoam seed oil and aloe leaf which help hydrate, protect and lock in moisture.

The True Nature Botanicals conditioner is, at once, both extremely light and fantastically nourishing.

The scent is more floral than citrus; it reminds me a lot of classic rose, but it’s very light and not overpowering at all. While conventional conditioners use silicones, mineral oil and synthetic fragrances, natural conditioners also have a difficult time delivering on results since they utilize more natural ingredients. Not so with the True Nature Botanicals conditioner!

They include green tea oil for more cleansing, antioxidant power and powerhouse hydration ingredients like aloe, shea butter and macadamia seed oil. Surprisingly, shea butter does not weigh my hair down in this formula like it does in many other natural conditioners I’ve tried. On top of that, once dry, my hair has a TON of volume, softness, shininess, and very little frizz at all, if any. I’m seriously impressed with the new hair care line and I can’t recommend it enough as it’s done wonders for me in the past few weeks I’ve been using it.

Do you know if these work well with color-treated hair?

    1. March 8, 2016 at 8:47 AM

Hi Angie! they market this one as safe to use on color-treated hair and it’s gentle enough. If you want to prolong your color, it also helps to avoid using super hot water (it strips natural oils from your hair and will fade color faster) and also rinse cold (if you can stand it) when you rinse your conditioner out. it helps keep hair soft and seal the hair cuticle. Hope this helps you out 🙂
