Top 21 Best Green Beauty Products of 2014

Top 21 Best Green Beauty Products of 2014

It’s that time again to share my top beauty picks that I’ve been loving from this year! This year’s roundup is specific to green beauty products I’ve been loving from 2014 because most of the products I’m obsessing over have been in the natural and organic category. These includes the best natural cleansers, treatments, hair care, body care, facial skincare, cosmetics, nail polishes, lipsticks and other cosmetics. I’m also including a short list of products that are non-green beauty products which I’ve also been loving at the end of the post as well so read on to see which products you need to pick up and try ASAP!

  • Suti Cleanse Organic Balm { REVIEW } This is my favorite cleansing balm for so many reasons! The main one is that it works incredibly well any time of the year, including during hot summers. It’s not heavy at all, it helps clear pores and hydrate skin, and it’s just an amazing cleansing balm. The ingredients are all simple and organic and this balm can be used as a gentle cleanser, exfoliant, face moisturizer and hydration mask which makes it a serious multi-tasker.
  • Original Konjac Sponge { REVIEW } I really love the Konjac Sponges from Konjac Sponge Co.! Having tried many from other companies, I can say without a doubt that these are the best and my personal favorite is the original one. It’s super gentle and it can be used with a cleanser or on it’s own. It provides gentle exfoliation, cleansing and brightening, and it’s entirely biodegradable. I also love that you can use these on your body as well. They’re just super useful to have on hand.
  • One Love Organics Vitamin B Cleansing Oil { REVIEW } This cleansing oil is amazing for anyone and everyone! It’s really good for gently cleansing and hydrating skin and it functions as both a cleanser and a makeup remover so it’s another great multi-tasking product. The ingredients help to brighten skin with fruit enzymes as well as tone and detoxify with a unique vitamin B complex.

  • Kypris Blemish Clearing Serum { REVIEW } This is a new discovery, but a loved one nonetheless! It’s such a fantastic serum for blemishes and it’s great for healing scarring and spots left behind after the pimple has long cleared which is something I’ve battled for years. If you have acne prone skin, this needs to be in your beauty arsenal!
  • Kypris Moonlight Catalyst Serum { REVIEW } This is a great brightener for dull skin or for anyone who needs a little brightening up and doesn’t want to resort to chemicals or vitamin A. This is a great natural replacement for those kinds of skin-refining, brightening and anti-aging treatments and it’s a gel-like consistency so it’s perfect for mature skin that still gets a little oily and doesn’t do well with heavy creams.
  • Celsus Bio-Intelligence Scar Cream { REVIEW } This is, by far, the best cream I’ve ever found to treat acne scarring and stretch marks. It’s naturally formulated and works incredibly well over a month or so.

  • Argentum Apothecary La Potion Infinie { REVIEW } With their incredible patent-pending formula, this cream works MAGIC! It’s a miracle worker for those who deal with fine lines, wrinkles, and imbalanced skin. It can help fight acne breakouts while also helping to improve collagen and elastin production in the skin. There is a lot complicated natural science involved with this cream, but it works incredibly well for any and everyone. Oh, and it smells amazing!
  • May Lindstrom Problem Solver Face Mask { REVIEW } This is, by far, my favorite face mask and I’ve tried hundreds of them in my life. I used to be a serious devotee of the clay masks from Sally’s, but those don’t hold a candle to my dearest May Lindstrom’s Problem Solver Mask! This mask smells delicious – like chocolate – and works seriously well at clearing, calming, and stimulating skin. It comes in a powder that you mix with a bit of water which fizzes up and creates a mousse that you apply to your face. It will warm up a bit on your skin and seems like it might make your skin red, but once you rinse it off, your skin will instantly look better and I’ve never experienced that with any other face mask so it’s really something to write home about!
  • Antonia Burrell Cream Supreme { REVIEW } This is my desert island product, if I had to choose one. It’s a cream that literally does everything: helps with collagen production for wrinkles and fine lines, helps clear acne including hard-to-get-rid-of blackheads and whiteheads, AND the anti-acne herbal complex is super unique and even helps protect your skin from UV damage. This is the best cream ever for acne and, let’s face it: everything else too.

  • Yarok Hair { REVIEWS – Here, here and here } This natural hair care line is awesome even for those who, like me, have fine hair and need more volume. The products smell lovely and work really help at keeping hair in great shape.
  • CV Skinlabs Body Repair Lotion { REVIEW } This is the best body lotion for hydration I’ve ever encountered and I’ve tried tons. I have really sensitive with a tendency to be dry, but also reactive, body skin and this stuff works! It’s gentle, hydrating, but also light and absorbs quickly and won’t cause breakouts. It’s also great if you have skin conditions where your skin gets dry, irritated or itchy like dermatitis or eczema.
  • Waxelene { REVIEW } This is an awesome salve to have around. It’s a natural alternative to petroleum jelly made from beeswax, organic soy and rosemary oil and natural vitamin E to help heal, hydrate and calm skin. It’s great for minor cuts, scrapes, burns, or skin irritations and if you’re in a bind, this works as a decent makeup remover or cleansing balm, cuticle treatment, and hand and foot balm. It’s a nice does-it-all salve to have on hand for sure!

  • Alima Pure Satin Matte Foundation { REVIEW } This is the best mineral powder foundation I’ve found that you won’t make you look chalky, ashy, powdery or cakey. It lends a really lovely airbrush finish when applied with a powder brush or you can get more full coverage if you use a buffer brush. I love this foundation for days when I just want to let my skin breath, but don’t want my skin to still look even and matte.
  • ILIA MultiStick in I Put A Spell On You { REVIEW } This is ILIA Multi-Stick is so lovely and natural looking! This particular color lends a beautiful glowing skin flush to cheeks in a natural peachy shade. It has some shimmer in it, but not an absurd amount so it still looks pretty and natural. You can use this on lips or cheeks and it lasts for ages.
  • Gressa Skin Minimalist Corrective Serum Foundation – I haven’t had a chance to review this one yet as I’ve just purchased it about a month ago, but already it’s replaced my previous HG Hourglass foundation as it’s much more natural in formulation AND it’s foundation formula will benefit your skin while you wear it. Potent plant oils work to keep skin clear, calm and hydrated during use and the foundation itself has a lovely “your skin – but better” finish to it that covers just enough to make your skin look even toned, beautiful, and still you. I love this stuff and I’ve been wearing it non-stop since I got it. You can see tons of makeup looks with me wearing it on my instagram if you want to see what the lightest shade looks like on skin, swatches, and more information on consistency, etc.

  • ILIA Mascara in Macao – I haven’t reviewed this yet because I’m totally lame and haven’t time, but when I get around to it, I promise a more detailed note on this one. All you need to know for now is that it’s naturally formulated, the handy wand is perfect for getting separated voluminous lashes, and this particular color – Macao – is a beautiful copper brown and doesn’t really show up on my black lashes, but does lend a festive sparkle and gives tons of volume which is why I love it so much.
  • Alima Pure Eye Shadows { Reviews here, here and here } These are the eye shadows I’ve gone back to again and again and they’re mineral eye shadows so they last forever. I’ve had some of these colors for years! My personal favorites are the coppers, browns, and navy blues which I have several over. Many of the specific ones I have are no longer available as they were LE, but all of their shadows are lovely and you should be able to find something similar. Personal favorites: Miniaudiere, Coffee Frappé, Milkshake, Thunder, and Terra Cotta.
  • Living Nature Eyeliner in Midnight { REVIEW } This is one of the few natural eyeliners I’ve found that rivals the pigmentation and color depth of mainstream brand eyeliners. This is a really dark black and can give you awesome smokey eyes or just tight line really well.

  • Kure Bazaar Nail Polishes { REVIEWS here and here } These are my favorite nail polishes EVER. They’re non-toxic, have gorgeous colors inspired by nature and fashion, and they work really well and last a long time. I also love the names of the polishes as well ans that they’re safer to use than mainstream brands, but don’t scrimp on quality or color selection. I have a ton of these in my collection now which you can see all over my instagram.
  • Karen Murrell Lipsticks { REVIEWS here and here } These are my favorite lipsticks EVER. They’re the most natural, organic formulas around and even their packaging is entirely biodegradable (including the tube!!). They have an awesome selection of the most beautiful colors and you don’t have to worry about any toxic in these because nothing nasty will touch your lips with KM lippies!
  • Kari Gran Lip Whips { REVIEWS here and here } These are a crazy hybrid between a lip balm and a lip gloss. They’re a bit thick like balms are, but they also lend a nice shiny gloss to lips as well. I love using these over the top of my lipsticks, on their own to make my lips look pretty without color, or just as a natural lip treatment before bed. They’re naturally made, some include delicious peppermint flavor, and they now have some with gorgeous tints like Radiant (orchid), Nice (golden shimmer) and Naughty (shimmery burgundy brown).

You may have noticed that I didn’t include any face oils and that’s not because I don’t love them because I do, but there are honestly just so many that I thought that I couldn’t choose! the Konjac Sponge and this one in particular is amazing. I’ve tried other brands of konjac sponges and not so much, but I love this one. It’s great for cleansing lazily and still really doing a good job. I love that it’s biodegradable and cheap as well. I really truly love all of these so trying any of them you’ll likely enjoy 🙂 thanks for stopping by Farrah ♥
