I hope your week is going well so far. I’ve been really busy doing this awesome challenge called the Bikini Series by Tone It Up. It’s a totally free challenge that I did last year (see here) and I’m doing it again this year with my friend Rachel!
Tone It Up #BIKINISERIES 2014!
I’m really excited about it because it’s such an inspiring way to stick with and reach your fitness and health goals, whatever they may be, and also to get excited for the summer time in a positive way.
I’ve been doing weekly goals for the series that I post on my Instagram @StorybookBeauty and you can also see healthy recipes, meals, snacks, and my tone it up workout check-ins.
What’s really fun about this fitness challenge is that it’s a huge community of people like you that are positive, encouraging and really fun! In this particular challenge, checking in on Instagram, their TIU community, and Twitter gives you the chance to win TONS of prizes including grand prize trips to beautiful places in the world!!
I hope I can win lots of prizes, of course, but I’m also just happy to be a part of such an amazing community thats so positive and to participate in a really fun challenge with friends. It keeps me on track, feeling positive, and makes my day-to-day a lot happier and exciting.
Another cool side bonus of doing the challenge are their mini challenges within the challenge. Firstly, there’s the #100bysummer and #150bysummer which are goals to reach 100 miles or 150 miles completed by June 21st (first day of summer and end of the Bikini Series Challenge). Secondly, they have daily Sunset Challenges every week which help you focus on staying positive, visualizing your goals, appreciating your life and being grateful for what you have, and enjoying the people you love around you. I love the daily workouts, the weekly schedule and the sunset challenges always give me positive things to focus on.
Another challenge is to create your summer and that involved visualizing your goals by creating a list of things you want this summer to be all about. Whether you want a summer party, to go on a trip, or just enjoy days by the pool – you create your own vision for summer. You could create it digitally, physically, or even on Pinterest. You can see my Summer Pinterest Board – HERE ♥ We were also challenged to create vision boards for our goals for the Bikini Series and weekly goals for things we want to accomplish. I love it because I really feel like K&K (the amazing trainers Karena & Katrina) give you great tools to inspire, motivate and support yourself throughout the challenge and the community they’ve created is just amazing for support and encouragement.
Getting Out of Your Comfort Zone
The last major thing I really love about Tone It Up, in general, but especially the Bikini Series is that it challenges you to get out of your comfort zone and try new things. We all battle fear when it comes to trying new things, fighting for our dreams, and really getting out there and experiencing life so I like that this challenge has pushed me to do the things I want to do. The first thing I’ve done to get myself out of my comfort zone is to sign up for a 5K. I’ve been wanting to do this for AGES and I’m so excited that this Saturday, I’ll be doing the Color Fun Fest 5K Night Run. It takes place in San Bernardino and is a neon themed night 5K run. The track will be lit up with black lights and music and I’m super excited because I’m doing it with a good friend and my boyfriend.
Overall, I think this challenge is a great one to do to get excited for summer. Whether you’re looking to lose weight, tone up, or just feel inspired and happy and meet new people, I think it’s truly fulfilling in many ways.
