I was reading around the blogosphere are bloggers are wont to do (I am obsessed with inserting this phrase into conversation like a total weirdo FYI) from time to time and I came across this post from The Brunette Ecoholic and was inspired to share my own post about things that scare the shit out of me because why not? It’s October, Halloween is coming, and if you haven’t heard yet, we only have #31DaystoCreepItWeird so here goes nothing!
WARNING: If scary things scare you and you don’t wanna be creeped out, spooked or whichever, might wanna click away now…
Things That Scare the Shit Out Of Me
I’ve had this fear since I was a child. I just really hate bugs and things that crawl. I can deal with spiders, but things that look like beetles, especially cockroaches give me the creeps. You couldn’t pay me enough to eat them, let them be near or on me, or whatever. I didn’t include a photo of roaches for this post because the thought of that freaks me out. Also, kissing bugs. Look that up. They’re bugs that embed into your skin, travel to your heart and kill you. If that’s not scary, then I don’t know what is.
I’m talking more along the lines of possessed people, demonic spirits, etc. My boyfriend wants to watch everything under the sun about this topic and it just creeps me out. The idea of someone not being able to control their own body or being “taken over” by another entity is really a scary concept to me.
Insidious/ Silent Hill / Hostel Movies
This is one of the few movies I’ve watched where I literally couldn’t sleep after. This had me sleeping with the lights on for a few days and I’m not typically scared of horror films even if I do have a list of the scariest films I’ve ever seen. Speaking of which, I’m also terrified of Alessa from the first Silent Hill; I couldn’t get that metal vines seen in the church out of my head for weeks. Also, I have an irrational fear of visiting eastern Europe thanks to Hostel so thanks Eli Roth.
Just kidding! I just think they look gross, but they don’t scare me. I’d be kicking some serious zombie ass if anything like that ever happened. I always have bizarre dreams about zombie apocalypse and I always build an awesome barricade and kill tons of zombies so, dreams don’t lie, you know?
That’s pretty much all that scares me. Not sure if there’s something I forgot, but I think that’s basically it. Not too many “horror” things scare me, to be honest. I’m not afraid of Mike Myers, Freddy, Jason, or any of those. I think I’m more afraid of being afraid more than any one thing.
