theCream Review + 7 Reasons Colostrum Should Be In Your Skincare Routine

theCream Review ♥

After trialing these skincare products for well over a month now, I’m finally ready to share my theCream review and discuss the benefits I’ve seen using colostrum-based skincare products. If you missed my introduction post for theCream brand and you’re wondering WTF is colostrum? then definitely check that post out first. My overall thoughts of theCream are incredibly positive! This is one of those brands where you can mix and match any of the products within the line and use them all together or with other products, all to great effect.

There isn’t a wrong way to use them and I find that, on the whole, they are very hydrating and nourishing to my skin without being overly heavy or leaving any kind of residue on my skin. The products absorb well so there’s no oily feeling, not even with the facial serum which I thought might be an issue. That said, a little bit goes a long way. You really only need 1-3 pumps (or drops) of any one particular product to cover your entire face, neck and décolletage to get results. These products will last you at least 2-3 months if you use them in this way and you will still see a difference in your skin.

Pssst! Be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom for a surprise! 😉

colostrum skincare - TheCream facial serum

Comforting Facial Cleanser // This cleanser is so lovely! It has such a unique texture. I think if a creamy cleansing milk and a cleansing oil had a baby, this would be it.

It’s very nourishing and softening to the skin, it easily dissolves dirt, sunscreen, and makeup, and it leaves my skin feeling clean, incredibly soft, and balanced (not dry). I love the scent of this one as well. It’s vanilla and orange which is a surprisingly pleasant combination to breathe in at the end of a long day. The formula also includes organic plant oils like olive oil, jojoba oil, aloe, colostrum oil, and avocado oil.

Ingredients(INCI) Organic Castile soap- Saponified oils of Organic Coconut (Cocos Nucifera), Organic Oilive (Olea Europaea), Organic Jojoba seed (Simmondsia Chinensis), Organic Aloe leaf (Aloe Barbadensis), Organic Rosemary leaf (Rosmarinus Officinalis); Apricot (Prunus Armeniaca) oil; Avocado (Persea Gratissima) oil; Rice Bran (Oryza Sativa) oil; Vegetable Glycerin; Xanthum gum; Colostrum oil; Orange (Citrus Sineses Dulcis) peel oil; Vanilla (fragrance) oil.

Concentrated Anti-Aging Recharge Serum // I LOVE this serum so much! It’s super versatile, you need only a few drops each application, and the results are wonderful. This feels very much like a facial oil, but it’s more easily absorbed into the skin and that’s a big plus! I find myself using this mixed into my sunscreen as well as mixed into other creams as it seems to help everything work more efficiently. I love the inclusion of plant oils like jojoba, macadamia, argan, and marula (my favorite!) alongside anti-aging squalene, carrot seed, and colostrum oil. My skin definitely feels more hydrated, soft, and smooth after using this. It also seems like fine lines around my eyes are slightly diminished, but I can never trust myself when it comes to that as I’m only 26 and don’t have many to go on at the moment.

Ingredients:(INCI) Coconut (Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride ) oil; Jojoba* (Simmondsia Chinensis) seed oil; L22- Macadamia, Jojoba, Olive [Jojoba Oil/Macadamia Seed Oil Esters (and) Squalene (and) Phytosteryl Macadamiate (and) Phytosterols (and) Tocopherol]; Vegetable Glycerin (Glycerin); Passionfruit (Passiflora Edulis) seed oil; Moroccan Argan (Argania Spinosa) nut oil; Marula (Sclerocarya Birrea) kernel oil; Carrot (Daucus Carota Sativa) seed oil; Colostrum Oil. * Organic.

colostrum skincare - TheCream Face Cream

Nourishing Face Cream // The Nourishing Face Cream is theCream’s hero product so I knew it was going to be good! It did not disappoint me, either. This face cream is light and has almost a whipped texture, but it’s super nourishing and absorbs easily into the skin. Like everything else in this line, you only need the smallest amount for it to be effective. I use about 2-3 pumps to cover my entire face, neck, and décolletage and I definitely see a big difference in the clarity of my skin using this one. Combined with the Concentrated Repair Cream, I feel like my skin looks clearer and more radiant and feels so much softer. I’m so thankful this cream didn’t break my skin out, but instead it left it feeling and looking a lot better than before. Notable ingredients include colostrum (of course), aloe, MSM, sea meadow foam oil, silica, colloidal silver, blueberry seed oil, citrus, and vanilla.

Ingredients(INCI) Colostrum; Coconut/Palm (Cetearyl Alcohol) wax; Aloe Vera [Soybean (Glycine Soja) oil (and) (Aloe Barbadensis) leaf oil];* MSM; Rice Tocotrienol (Oryza Sativa) bran oil; Emu (Dromiceius) oil; Sea Meadow Foam (Limnanthes Alba) oil; Apricot (Prunus Armeniaca) oil; Hemp (Cannabis Sativa) seed oil; Silica; Coconut/Palm (Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate) wax; Bentonite clay*; Blueberry (Vaccinium Macrocarpon) seed oil; Colloidal Silver; Zinc Oxide; Hydrogen Peroxide; Orange (Citrus Sinesis Dulcis) peel oil; Vanilla Plantifolia fruit oil. Citral/Geraniol/Linalool in citrus oils. *Registered Organic.

Concentrated Repair Cream // This Concentrated Repair Cream really does repair! It definitely seems to be making some headway on my acne scars and any discoloration on my skin. It did equal wonders for hydrating the dry patches around my nose when I was sick last week. I’ve also been using small amounts of this cream around my eyes at night and I definitely think it makes a big difference for puffiness, smoothness, hydration, and diminishing the appearance of fine lines. Colostrum is included alongside potent plant oils like apricot kernel, black currant, sunflower, hemp, and blueberry. MSM, silica, colloidal silver, and aloe are also included.

Ingredients:  (INCI) Colostrum; Apricot Kernel (Prunus Armeniaca) oil; Coconut (Caprylic/Capric triglyceride) oil; Coconut/Palm (Cetearyl Alcohol) wax; Aloe Vera [Soybean (Glycine Soja) oil (and) (Aloe Barbadensis) leaf oil]*; Defensil [Octyldodecanol, Black Current (Ribes Nigrum) seed oil, Sunflower(Helianthus Annuus) seed oil unsaponifiables, Cardiospermum Halicacabum flower/leaf/vine extract, Tocopherol, Sunflower (Helianthus Annuus) seed oil, Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis) leaf extract]; MSM (Dimethyl Sulfone); Colloidal Silver; Orange (Citrus Sinesis Dulcis) peel oil; Vegetable Glycerin; Rice Tocotrienol (Oryza Sativa) bran oil; Sea Meadowfoam (Limnanthes Alba) oil; Hydrogen Peroxide; Hemp (Cannabis Sativa) seed oil; Silica; DermCom [Crocus Chrysanthus Bulb Extract (and) Acacia Senegal Gum (and) Aqua]; Coconut/Palm (Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate) wax; Bentonite Clay*; Vanilla Plantifolia fruit oil; Blueberry (Vaccinium Macrocarpon) seed oil; Zinc Oxide. Citral/Geraniol in citrus oils. *Registered Organic

Moisturizing Anti-Aging Skin Conditioning Body Cream // The Moisturizing Anti-Aging Skin Conditioning Body Cream is one of the best body creams I’ve ever tried. It smells lovely and has a similar vanilla-orange scent like all the others in this line which I find so pleasant to apply any time. The cream comes in a very practical tube with a pump so you can get every last bit out. One thing I really love about this cream is that in spite of being very hydrating to my skin, it’s not overly heavy and doesn’t clog my pores or cause acne or bumps anywhere. It’s brilliant to use all over, straight out of the shower, alongside my body oils. I love that this formula includes such healing ingredients because my body skin is super dry this time of year and needs tons of nourishment and moisture. Included are colostrum, aloe vera, MSM, silica, colloidal silver, and plant oils such as apricot kernel, blueberry, sunflowers, rice bran, hemp, and the signature vanilla and orange notes.

Ingredients:(INCI) Colostrum; Apricot Kernel (Prunus Armeniaca) oil; Aloe Vera [Soybean (Glycine Soja) oil (and) (Aloe Barbadensis) leaf oil]*; Coconut (Caprylic/Capric triglyceride) oil; Coconut/Palm (Cetearyl Alcohol) wax; MSM (Dimethyl Sulfone); Orange (Citrus Sinesis Dulcis) peel oil; Vegetable Glycerin; Rice Tocotrienol (Oryza Sativa) bran oil; Sea Meadowfoam (Limnanthes Alba) oil; Hemp (Cannabis Sativa) seed oil; Colloidal Silver; Silica; DermCom [Crocus Chrysanthus Bulb Extract (and) Acacia Senegal Gum (and) Aqua]; Defensil [Octyldodecanol, Black Current (Ribes Nigrum) seed oil, Sunflower(Helianthus Annuus) seed oil unsaponifiables, Cardiospermum Halicacabum flower/leaf/vine extract, Tocopherol, Sunflower (Helianthus Annuus) seed oil, Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis) leaf extract]; Coconut/Palm (Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate) wax; Vanilla Plantifolia fruit oil; Blueberry (Vaccinium Macrocarpon) seed oil; Bentonite Clay*; Zinc Oxide; Hydrogen Peroxide. Citral/Geraniol in citrus oils. *Registered Organic

7 Reasons Colostrum Should Be In Your Skincare Routine

When I wrote the last post, introducing theCream products, a lot of readers found the idea of colostrum-based skincare interesting, but also a little strange. Since I’ve personally experienced the results of using these products and learned much about the benefits of colostrum in the process, I thought I would share a few reasons colostrum definitely deserves a permanent spot in your skincare routine.

  1. It’s Bioavailable. For starters, colostrum is bioavailable which means that it’s easily and readily accepted by your skin. That’s great news because it means that your skin will suck up all the natural goodness and utilize all the benefits theCream skincare products have to offer.
  2. Colostrum Offers A Potent Shot of Nutrients. Aside from being happily absorbed by your skin with little resistance, colostrum itself is offering a potent shot of nutrients for your skin. This includes valuable vitamins and minerals, proteins, and antioxidants which your skin needs to repair and heal acne and discoloration, diminish fine lines, and hydrate your skin optimally.
  3. It’s Soothing and Calming. If you suffer from any kind of skin issues such as acne, rosacea, or dermatitis, this line of products may really help you out. I frequently suffer from eczema on my body and the occasional rosacea and acne flare up and these did not irritate my skin. Instead, they gently helped moisturize my skin without upsetting the natural balance which I think is so important when you have sensitive skin issues.
  4. Colostrum Helps Heal and Repair. Again, colostrum is very nutrient rich so it gives your skin all the tools it needs to repair your skin to the best of it’s ability.
  5. It’s Hydrating and Balancing. Colostrum gives your skin a potent shot of nutrients and the formulas of these products include a nice blend of natural and organic plant oils so your skin is getting a nice dose of hydration, valuable vitamins and minerals, and using a small amount ensures your skin stays hydrated and balanced.
  6. It’s Gentle Enough for All Skin Types. As I said, these products work very gently on the skin. They don’t upset the skin’s natural state or strip it of oils so I think many skin types would fare well with them. The only skin type that may want to do a patch test before using is very sensitive skin. If you have troubles with essential oils, then definitely do a patch test first as these include them in the formula.
  7. Colostrum is 100% Natural. Lastly, colostrum is 100% natural and safe for your skin. As you know, everything you put on your skin is absorbed by your body and so using natural and organic products ensures that your body absorbs only the best nature has to offer – no nasties included.

Thanks for the giveaway! I’m still a little put off by the thought of colostrum (not sure why!) but I entered haha you convinced me they’re god stuff

    1. April 19, 2016 at 9:08 AM

haha I know it’s a bit strange, but it’s processed into colostrum oil or dried into a powder and it’s NOT breast milk. So that’s important to note! Also, it’s from cows, not humans, so it’s not like it’s from some woman’s breast; that would be a bit bizarre lol. But seriously, these creams smell amazing (orange vanilla) and they work really well. I would not bother partnering with a brand if they sucked. It’s not worth it to me to share brands that don’t work, you know? So yeah definitely an awesome brand ♥

These products sound great. I love that a little bit goes a long way. I have puffiness under my eyes also. Maybe this would work for me. I love the oils they put in these products. Thank you so much for this great review

    1. April 21, 2016 at 9:48 AM

Absolutely! They really are so good. I love the creams, especially. I have really dry under eyes and sensitive skin (plus eye allergies) and I find these work really well for me. Hope you give them a go and let me know how you like them if you do!

Oh goodness, Tianna, when I first saw “colostrum,” my first thoughts were, “OH HELLL no, Tianna, I heart you and the awesome brands you find and introduce to us, but breast milk!?!?”

But I trust you, so I kept reading. ;P I’m super glad I did! It sounds like an awesome brand, and orange vanilla sounds amazing! (+ a huge sigh of relief and many yay’s for no human breast milk, ahahaha.)

    1. April 21, 2016 at 9:52 AM

hahah! well I’m glad I didn’t completely lose you at colostrum. It’s a bit unconventional, I admit, but that’s definitely what drew me in to them in the first place. Also, it’s important to mention that colostrum isn’t breast milk, exactly; it’s a separate milk produced before the actual “breast milk” which helps protects babies against disease and jump start their body’s systems. But what am I saying? lol you’re basically a doctor – you know this already! *facepalm moment* lol. Anyway, it’s not human colostrum – it’s from cows which is 200 times more potent and it’s refined into colostrum oil which is really great for healing. It must be trending because I’ve started to see it promoted in wellness where they’re selling colostrum supplements. It’s such a trip, but I love this brand so I’m all for it! Hope you give it a try – it’s awesome ♥ thanks for sharing your thoughts, Farrah, and happy birthday!

Gentle is always a priority of mine since I have super sensitive skin! That combined with the occasional breakouts really makes it hard to try and tackle all of my skin problems! This sounds like a really good one to try. I’m already using another set of skin care products but once I’m out of those, I’ll definitely be giving this a try!

    1. April 21, 2016 at 9:54 AM

If sensitive skin is a thing, this may be an awesome brand to try! Especially their face cream and repair cream! Both of those are so gentle and they work so well. Also, I have acne prone skin and NO breakouts so yay! A lot of creams tend to break me out so I’m pretty particular about what creams I can even use as well. Hope you give them a go and let me know how you like them ♥

  5. April 21, 2016 at 7:45 PM

    1. May 10, 2016 at 2:46 PM

it’s seriously AMAZING! I love these products so much. The repair and face creams are especially great if you have dry eye area or dry patches. I have acne/combo skin so I normally have issues with creams, but this line is great and never breaks me out so that’s a win in my book 😛
