The Answer to Healing Breakouts for Good | MOSS Skincare Review

The Answer to Healing Breakouts for Good

I heard about MOSS Skincare through the grapevine of green beauty bloggers and I just knew I had to get into contact with Celestyna, the lovely founder of MOSS Skincare. What sets MOSS apart, you ask? Well, for one, it’s one of the first luxury skincare lines that focuses entirely on healing all your acne prone skin problems. For another, it does it all with 100% natural and organic plant ingredients that work with your skin instead of against it.

Modern. Organic. Sacred. Skincare. | The Story

Founded by Celestyna as a way to solver her own acne troubles, MOSS stands for Modern Organic Sacred Skincare. Celestyna describes her line as the organic super food salad equivalent for your skin. It’s ingredients are chock full of antioxidants, collagen boosters, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory plant essences which will help solve all your skin issues in one go. Many of us might be troubled by acne, but we’re also concerned with fine lines, scarring and other issues. That’s where MOSS comes in to save the day. Celestyna hopes that MOSS devotees will be able to look in the mirror and see bliss, beauty, and radiance.

MOSS Skincare Review

I was more than a little impressed and inspired by Celestyna’s proclamations of skin love and beauty acceptance after reading more about her, but I was still a little skeptical about the effectiveness of her products. After all, if they don’t work, then who cares, am I right? I’m SO excited to report back and share that these products not only work to help heal breakouts, but they do an awful lot more than that!

CEREMONY Skin Exalting Everlasting Eternal Beauty Balm

This beauty balm is unique in a number of ways. Firstly, the balm is extremely hydrating, nourishing and softening, but it’s also incredibly light and absorbs into the skin fairly quickly. It has added golden mica pigment in the formula for a little added glow to help you feel healthy and beautiful throughout the day. The balm itself offers up natural sun protection and has potent anti-aging properties. On top of that, the pure plant ingredients include mafura butter, cupuacu butter, green coffee bean, and buriti to heal, protect, nourish, hydrate, regenerate skin cells, improve elasticity, soothe skin, protect against UVA/UVB rays, and can even help detoxify skin and reverse existing damage. Need I say more? In using this, I found I only need a dime size amount of this balm to cover my entire face and neck area for all day protection. This balm works as a beautiful base for makeup or on it’s own for days when I want to go makeup free. The golden mica makes me look healthy, glowing, and lovely as it was quite subtle, but just bold enough to offer a radiance so I feel a little less self-conscious than normal. It also doesn’t break me out and it’s a nice alternative to sunscreen, though I still wore sunscreen over it on swim days since I’m quite fair.

Ingredients: Mafura butter, cupuacu butter, green coffee bean oil, buriti oil, therapeutic eo blend (jasmine, ylang ylang, bergamot, clary sage + more) vitamin c, vitamin e, rosemary extract, gold mica.

EQUILIBRIUM Harmonizing Serum

This serum is surprisingly hydrating while also being incredibly light. It feels like it’s soaked up by skin almost instantly and you need only a pump or two for your entire face and neck area. This is a wonderful night treatment serum for acne breakouts, imbalanced skin (overly oily or dry), and fine lines if you deal with those. I think it’d be most brilliant to mature skin that still deals with breakouts or younger skin that’s concerned with both acne and fine lines. It’s incredible at repairing and healing both. The serum includes plant ingredients like ucuuba butter, moth bean extract (known as nature’s retinol), meadowsweet, fermented green tea, gotu kola, jewelweed, goldenthread, Reishi mushroom, licorice root, and others which help improve cell turnover, heal scarring, acne, discoloration, balance sebum (oil) production, calm inflammation and redness, combat aging, and may even help with skin issues such as eczema and psoriasis, I really love using this as a night serum for days when my skin is dealing with breakouts and it’s also been brilliant at helping balance my skin out in this hot summer heat when my skin feels overly oily and clogged.

Ingredients: Aloe barbadensis (aloe) leaf juice, ucuuba butter, spiraea ulmaria (meadowsweet) extract, niacinamide, phospholipids, centella asiatica (gotu kola) extract, filipendula ulmaria (meadowsweet) extract, humulus lupulus (hops) extract, reishi mushroom (ganoderma lucidum) extract, vigna acontifolia (moth bean) extract, camellia sinensis (green tea) leaf extract, chinese goldthread (coptis chinensis) extract, jewelweed (impatiens pallida) extract, glycyrrhiza glabra (licorice root) extract, radish root ferment filtrate, therapeutic eo blend (vetiver, geranium, frankincense + more), sodium olivoyl glutamate, cetearyl alcohol, glyceryl stearate, cocoyl honeyate, xanthan gum, grain alcohol, vegetable glycerin, water.

Overall, I’m incredibly impressed with this very new organic beauty brand. MOSS Skincare proves that you can heal your acne, fight aging, and feel great about yourself all with only a few key products. I love that these products are filled with so many valuable plant ingredients and that the balm offers up natural sun protection without the use of zinc oxide. These products are incredibly unique, even for the green beauty world, and they work very effectively at helping acne and making the overall condition of your skin improve as well.

it’s impressive! I was so surprised because this was my first experience with the brand and the products work FAST. Most products I trial take a week or 3 and these seem like they make a noticeable difference overnight. That’s not something I take lightly. definitely worth giving a go, esp if you deal with acne prone skin like me.

Hi tianna ..what a lovely review . How does it compare to MV organics ( forgot the name of oil)? I am iintrigued

Hi Anusha 🙂 Do you mean MV Organics or Marie Veronique? If you mean just MV Organics, I have not tried that brand so can’t comment on that yet, but Marie Veronique has some lovely products. That said, none are specific to acne which I think gives MOSS an edge over other brands. Since their products are tailor-made for acne prone skin, they really work to help heal and clear acne and breakouts. I think that’s why they are pretty superior, esp the serum I reviewed. It helped clear breakouts very quickly. hope this helps!
