Colorful Ombre Hair!

I don’t know about you, but whenever the seasons change, I inevitably get the hair color itch. You know, that feeling that you MUST change your hair in some kind of way. It’s like a disease and all women (and some men) are infected. With every season change, we all get that nagging feeling to want to recreate and reinvent ourselves. Usually, we do this by buying new spring clothes or makeup, getting in shape, or coloring our hair and this season is all about colorful ombre hair ♥

It’s also popularly referred to as dip dyeing for when you just color your ends, but many people seem to be mixing and mashing tons of colors at once or an ombre of a single color (like navy and teal colors).

I spotted this trend awhile ago, but it’s something that keeps popping up. It’s one of those trends that I (of course) initially hated, but now love. I think maybe my brain just hates change; I’m turning into an old person as we speak, I guess. Maybe I can stop the hands of time with a new ombre hair color LOL! 😀 Actually, I think my initial aversion to this trend stems from the bro-hoe hair trend of the early 2000’s which I thought was hideous, but every girl in my high school had it. If you’re not familiar, it’s the one color on top, another color on the bottom panels. Most girls did black and blonde and, in my opinion, it looked horribly tacky.

Anyway, enough rambling; here are some colorful ombre hairstyles to help inspire you to recreate, reinvent or you know, just change your damn hair color already. You know you want to 😉

Blonde and Pink | Brunette and Pink | Rainbow Hair | Pink and Purple

I’m loving bright pinks and purples and it’s fascinating to see how people have mixed the two together, though I’m not sure if I have the guts to do that myself. I think if I was a natural blonde, I would probably do so much more damage to my hair simply because the colors would show up a lot better without too much bleach. Then again, maybe it’s good I’m not blonde for how fickle I am…

Dark Hair and Blues | Blonde and Blue | All Kinds of Blue | Purple and Blue

I think the blue, teal and purple ombre hair colors are my favorite from this colorful trend, especially for spring and summer! It just looks so vibrant and oceanic. I love the blonde with blue at the tips – isn’t it pretty?! Another fun hair color for summer is this mermaid hair ombre 🙂

Wild Hair Dye Options:

Blonde and Pink Dip Dye | Candyfloss Blue | Blonde with Blue, Teal and Purple | Purple and Teal

Another fun trend which I think blondes will fare most easily with is the candyfloss hair trend. It’s basically all pastel colors. Either ombre pastel purple, pink or blue hair. Those seem to be the most popular. There’s also just straight coloring your hair in those colors or doing a multitude of colors in layers. If you have dark hair, you could get this effect, but I recommend going to a professional just because the amount of bleach needed to your hair color to these levels has the potential to do so much damage.

Other trends include the fire hair trend (shown above) which basically emulates a flame and uses shades of auburn, bright red, copper and blonde to get it’s effects. You can also do traditional ombre with your natural hair color which, if you don’t already know, is where you color your hair in a graduation of either darker tint or lighter tint. For instance, if you have blonde hair naturally, you would graduate your hair with darker natural brown colors from midway to the ends of your hair. Vice verse for dark hair only using blonde colors. You can also use red colors as well on both which is quite pretty.

Personally, I’m thinking I’ll be going with either a teal, dark blue or purple dip dye color because I think it will be the easiest to do. I previously wanted to color my hair blonde (and then grey), but I decided against it at the last minute because of the damage it would’ve done. Not only that, but the cost was a LOT more than I thought it would be to upkeep (think $300 every 2 weeks). Ain’t nobody got money for that. At least not me at the moment!

Love it 🙂 I had something like it with brighter tips and have been toying with the idea again. Not sure about the favorite color, I kinda like all of the pastel versions.

I want all of these! I love fun colored hair. I miss it. Last year for a long time I had blonde hair with lilac dip-dyed ends. It was gorgeous. Maybe I really do need to do something with my hair!
