No Orange Tan: RMS Buriti Bronzer Review
I’m really excited to finally be able to comment on one of the newest product releases from RMS Beauty – the RMS Buriti Bronzer. I was kindly sent a small sample of this from Beautyhabit so I’m really grateful for that!
When I first heard about this new cream bronzer from ultra-green beauty brand RMS Beauty, I admit I was a little worried at first look, but after trying it, I think it’s safe to say I’m officially a convert!
Ingredients, Texture, & Effect
Like many other RMS Beauty products, the Buriti Bronzer is formulated in a cream base of organic coconut oil and is combined with beeswax, jojoba oil, cocoa seed butter, buriti oil, vitamin E and mica pigments to create a really nourishing and creamy colored bronzer. Despite being very creamy, it’s decently long lasting (though not in extreme heat – you’ll sweat it right off) and doesn’t feel greasy, runny or oily when applied. It goes on easily, blends out easily and the color can be intensified or blended out however you like.
Contrary to what you would think, it’s not overly shimmery, though it does have a slight hint of shimmer to it. I’m sure the heavier the application, the more apparent that shimmer effect is, but I blended it out quite a bit to work with my fair skin tone and it worked really well, with only a slight subtle shimmer effect. I imagine if you’re darker or more tan than I am, it will look especially beautiful as you can safely pack on more of the gorgeous color to really get that super shimmer bronzed babe look. The color is not orange in the slightest so it’s safe to wear blended out or built up without worrying about getting that horrible “oompa loompa” effect.
I really slapped on a thick swatch, but if you look to the right of the intense color, it may give you an idea on how much you can blend the color down. I really think this cream bronzer is super versatile and suitable for a number of skin tones and types given that the color is a creamy bronze-y cocoa brown color. There is literally no hint of orange so there’s no chance of ending up looking like Snookie even if your makeup skills are limited (like mine lol).
I tried this over the past few weekends and this particular date night makeup look turned out nicely so I thought I’d share it. I used the Buriti Bronzer to contour my cheeks and nose. Also, keep in mind this photo was taken 2 hours after it was done. I went to the movies, came home and took the photo. It was pretty impromptu so yeah.

Overall, I’m really loving this bronzer. It’s a fantastic natural option for those who want a good contour AND bronzer product in one. I’m not sure yet if it can truly replace my beloved Hollow, but it definitely seems to be coming very close! It’s a lovely bronzer for me, personally, and while I don’t think it’s as perfectly suited to pale skin as Hollow, it definitely works with a little blending.
I also love the fact that this is a more green beauty option and the ingredients are certainly a lot more skin-nourishing, hydrating and just better for you than conventional cosmetics. If you want a non-orange bronzer that works for any skin tone or type, definitely give this a try, especially if you are looking for a more natural beauty option!
