HerbSardinia Body Care Review

HerbSardinia is likely a brand that many of you don’t know, but it’s a really lovely organic skincare brand that hails from the small, but gorgeous country of Sardinia. I was very lucky to be sent two of their products for review and I’m happy to say they get the stamp of approval from me!

About HerbSardinia

HerbSardinia is the first organically certified skincare company to come out of Sardinia. They utilize only natural essential oils and other natural floral and herbal essences that are specifically native to Sardinia within their product formulations.

They wanted to bring the magical balance of wild beauty that is Sardinia and make it available to the greater world through these natural products. Their products are made very simply and without any of the harsh toxins or chemicals that you see in mainstream products so they are ideal for more sensitive skin types.

You really can’t argue that Sardinia seems to be, at once, one of the most wild, yet beautiful places on the planet. Just google their tiny little piece of paradise off the Mediterranean Sea and see for yourself.

It’s really quite stunning! I was immediately impressed by the simplicity of the ingredients in these products as well as the look of these products which feels and looks much like something that would come out of a luxury spa, sans all the toxic ingredients.

What I Love

I was able to try out these two lovely products from HerbSardinia: their Natural Body Scrub and their Ten Essences Body Massage Oil.

The Natural Body Scrub includes natural Sardinian sea salts, plant oils, natural silica, and various essential oils to soothe, heal, soften and condition skin.

The scrub is quite medicinal smelling, very minty and herbal, though it’s not overpowering at all like some can be. The scrub is really quite hydrating and you can definitely feel the oils going to work when you use it in the shower or bath, though be careful not to slip on your way out as it makes the shower floor really slippery! I almost bit the dust quite a few times so I’ve taken to soaping and rinsing the floor before I get out after using this just to make sure nobody else breaks a literal leg if they happen to shower after me. That being said, I love the feeling of this scrub as it feels both exfoliating and hydrating at the same time. I find I don’t need moisturizer after using this as it’s sufficient enough without one. My only complaint is that it might be too heavy on acne prone skin so if you have a tendency toward body acne, you might want to use this sparingly.

The Ten Essences Body Massage Oil has a similar scent to the body scrub, though it’s even more subtle in scent still, but really lovely.

This oil is quite unique in that it can be used in a variety of ways. The first way is as a dry body oil after the shower or as a massage oil to relax sore muscles or to hydrate and lightly fragrance the ends of your hair. Another way is to use the oil for aromatherapy purposes or with hot water inhalations to help soothe and relax you. Lastly, you can also utilize this oil with a ceramic oil burner to scent any room, as desired. The oil is a mix of potent plant oils and essential oils that all work to calm, soothe, hydrate and heal.

Overall, both products are extremely therapeutic and relaxing. I could see both working really well together if you’re an athlete or workout often and experience sore muscles frequently. Also, if you love using aromatherapy to help de-stress and relax, these are both great choices for creating a spa-like atmosphere in your own bath at home!

You can get these products at Granducati (the official US distributor) and also at Beautyhabit.

I was convinced to try that scrub until you said it probably wouldn’t be good for acne prone skin. It sounds like a great product otherwise and I’m just imagining the scent to be extremely relaxing. Great detailed review!

It’s a heavier oil based scrub, but I’m very acne prone on my body. It might be okay if you use a small amount and don’t slather it on or if you aren’t very reactive like I am. I love the scent and it’s super relaxing, but I think I’d only use every now and then to avoid breakouts.
