I always see people doing these Random Friday Favorites posts and it always makes me want to do them so I thought I’d share some random favorites that I’ve been obsessing over lately 🙂
For some reason, slip dresses and half slip skirts are really appealing to me right now. I think these will definitely be a great staple for fall, especially here in California, as the weather tends to go from sunny and chilly to cold and rainy at the drop of a hat. Our weather is quite bi-polar to be honest and it’s always changing so layering clothes is the best way to be prepared for any kind of day. Also, I love the chic feel of lace and crochet and all of the different kinds of textures, fabrics and cuts that Free People offers. It’s so easy to customize to your own personal style and taste.
These chunky heel boots from Jeffrey Campbell are really appealing to me at the moment! Last year, I found some awesome knee boots which I wore basically all winter, but this year, I’m finding myself drawn to mid calf booties and stiletto boot heels. I think they’d go really well with skinny jeans and leggings or even tights with skirts, dresses or shorts. I’m torn between these and these boots from Michael Kors.
I discovered this braided hairstyle on pinterest and I’m loving it. It’s so perfect for any day and any season! I really think it’s especially great for rainy days here in Cali because it’s a style that’s meant to look messy, but the styled part of it is all braided so it would pretty much stay in place with little effort and I’m all about that! My only complaint is I don’t yet know how to do a French braid like that so once I figure that out, we’ll be good to go 🙂 Anyone know any good tutorials for this?
These new baume de rose tinted lip balms from By Terry look SO beautiful! They have a bright red, coral, pink, this nude plum, and even a deep purple color. They’re formulated with nourishing plant ingredients to soften, hydrate and protect lips while offering a beautiful tint to them as well. I think these are the perfect balm + lipstick product in one solution for fall/winter!
I thought this muscle tank was really hilarious so I just wanted to share it. I think fun t-shirts with witty text on them are really cute at the moment, especially humorous ones like this!
For some reason, cutout heels and funky looking textured heels are really attracting my interest right now! I realized that my closet is nearly all flats the other day so I’ve been trying to figure out which kinds of heels I should purchase first. On my list are a good pair of wedges, a pair of stilettos, a basic pair of chunky pumps (for work), and some heeled booties. If you have any recommendations, please sound off in the comments! I need all the help I can get 🙂
Okay, this is so weird. I’m not really even a Tom Ford fan, per se, but when I read up on this latest fragrance from his lineup, I was so intrigued! I really want to run down to Sephora now so I can smell it because it sounds AMAZING. It’s described as floral, seductive and feminine and includes notes of citrus, floral, honey and rum! Whaaattt?!
I know orange lips were all the rage for summer, but seeing this look on pinterest made me think it’s equally beautiful for fall! I love how simple, yet beautiful this look is and it’s convinced me I need a good orange lipstick!
I don’t know the origin of this look, but I found it on Pinterest and kind of fell in love! I love the whole dark eyes – red lips – white coat – black tights- brown long gloves thing! Yeah, long-winded, but isn’t it lovely? I’m thinking I need some kind of a white coat or cape this winter!
2 words: pastel goth. I didn’t know this even existed. Or, I did, but I didn’t know it had a name rather. I always thought they were depressed candy ravers, but whatever. Pastel goth sounds much cooler and the looks in this buzzfeed article on how to be a pastel goth are seriously pretty! Not every look is a hit, but it’s definitely inspiring some fun fall/winter looks in my crazy brain.
Alternatively, the idea of having a bright white and neutral walled home with french doors separating rooms is really appealing! It’s so classy looking and I think it adds a layer of polished refinement without having any elaborate furniture or anything else going on.
I know, I know – it’s not even September yet, but I love Halloween! In fact, I talk about it in pretty much every single Halloween post I’ve ever done since I started this blog so, if you don’t know by now, you better ask somebody haha… Seriously, though, Halloween is amazing and it’s my favorite holiday. LOVE ♥ I’ve been brainstorming some cool costume ideas and halloween makeup looks to share this year on the blog as well so stay tuned for those!
I’ve been struck by the idea of having a dinner party for ages now and it NEEDS to happen this year! I’m just saying – they look like such a blast to plan and enjoy with friends. I love how creative people get and I just think it would be a lot of fun. I mean, either this or one of my friends needs to hurry up and get married so I can go to a party because maybe that’s really what I’m after? LOL.
Last of all, I thought this was a really fascinating thought and it’s been swirling around in my head for days. I think a lot of us would say a lot less and be a lot more thoughtful before we speak if every word was inked into our skin like this. What do you think?
