PureSOL Konjac Sponge Review
I’ve tried a TON of konjac sponges and I’ve shared how many of them have fallen quite short of the mark. That said, I love the konjac sponges that have worked for me and I’ve even made a case for why you should all try konjac sponges for yourself. Even though I’ve had such bad experiences with most other konjac sponge brands, I agreed to review some PureSOL konjac sponges and I was actually surprised at how much I like them!
Things to Love About PureSOL Konjac Sponges:
- Like all konjac sponges, these sponges are 100% biodegradable making them 100% from the earth.
- Because these sponges are biodegradable, they’re eco-friendly, have very little impact on the earth, and don’t contribute to pollution or cause harmful waste.
- They’re chemical-free.
- They’re also cruelty-free and vegan – made entirely with plant ingredients!
This Turmeric Konjac Sponge for the body was what attracted me to PureSOL in the first place. It’s safe to say I’m drawn to anything with turmeric in it and, apparently, with good reason! This body sponge is a wonderful alternative to conventional bath poufs or sponges and it’s a gentle way to exfoliate skin if you happen to have sensitive skin. I can’t use loofahs because they’re too rough on my skin, I find, so I really loved using this one. I found it was great to use alone or with some body wash for a little extra lather and cleansing. It also came with a handy little hook that you could suction to your shower wall and it works really well! It’s also great because konjac sponges need to dry completely after every use so keeping them on this hook allowed that to happen.
The second sponge I tried out was their Original Konjac Sponge for the face and I also really enjoyed using this one. It works much like the other basic konjac sponges I’ve tried so it’s not really a standout product for me. That said, if you haven’t yet tried a konjac sponge, this would be a great place to start! The original konjac sponges don’t have anything added to them and they’re very bare, in terms of ingredients, so they’re great for people with sensitive, reactive skin and for babies and children.
Overall, I really enjoyed trying these konjac sponges out! I’m not sure how they measure up against my other favorite konjac sponges because, to be honest, they seem pretty much identical to me. That’s not a bad thing, per se, but it doesn’t help them stand out. They’re even about the same price point so neither is really better than the other. The major star of this review is the Turmeric Body Sponge because I don’t know any other company that carries a sponge with that particular ingredient and I know it can be extremely beneficial for skin. If you want to try konjac sponges, they’re amazing, incredibly eco-friendly, and super simple and effective skincare tools so definitely give them a go!
