Live Fast, Die Young: Bad Girl Style Does It Well
I’ve always been a bit of a rebel.
It’s not that I’m seeking out trouble or trying to be a misfit, it just kind of happens, and the same goes for my own sense of style. It’s not that I go out seeking leather, ripped jeans, monochrome color schemes, and studs – it just kind of happens that way. Even my Cali girl style has a bit of a punk edge to it that’s totally unintentional.
So, instead of fighting against the inevitable, I decided to let my inner freak flag fly, as they say, and share some of my favorite fashion picks for all of you who are harboring a “bad girl” inside (we all have one) and dying to get out and express yourself. Through fashion and beauty, obviously. And if you aren’t a bad girl at all, you can always lie and mislead them all with your bad girl style.
Let Your Freak Flag Fly.
If you plan on being any kind of rebellious bad girl, you have to be willing to let your wild side out. Not to say you should light a convenient store on fire (though accidents happen), but you should definitely be willing to let your inner weirdo out and have some fun. In terms of style, this could mean wearing some funky patterns, mixing patterns, or wearing distressed denim. It’s really up to you how you go about it as everyone is different with their own idiosyncratic personalities.
Don’t Be Afraid to Be Bold.
Whatever this means to you. It could mean bold colors, bold eye makeup or lipstick, or simply your bold, bright personality. Whatever it is, don’t be afraid to express yourself fully and BE. BOLD.
One Word: Monochrome.
You don’t have to subscribe to monochrome, but most “bad girl looks” are in shades of black, white and grey. I would stick to a basic monochrome palette with a bold color or two interjected here and there with accessories, a bright color or patterned top, or maybe just some brightly colored shoes.
Show Some Attitude.
If you plan on rocking bad girl style, don’t forget to leave home with your attitude! If you don’t have the attitude to back up this kind of style, you’ll basically look like a dressed up puppet. And there’s nothing like putting yourself on blast to other bad girls out there that you’re a complete fraud than a bad girl without an attitude. So, make sure you take that sh*t with you when you leave the house.
