Pretty Holiday Makeup Looks to Try in 2014!
Holiday makeup is something I really get excited about. Not because it’s particularly fun to do makeup during the busiest time of the year, but because holiday makeup looks are always more festive! I love the deep red and berry lip colors, the golden eye shimmer colors, and the spirit of the season embodied in a pretty makeup.
It makes me feel confident, sometimes sexy, and always joyful about spending time during this lovely season. I came up with a few fun holiday makeup looks that I thought you might like! I’ve also included for all your holiday parties.
Berry Lips + Gold Eyeliner + Neutral Copper Eyes
This is such a classic holiday look! I love red and/or berry lips around the holidays and any time really. I feel like they just brighten up your entire face. I used a combination of products, but the stand out products that created this look are the lip color and the golden eyes. The lip color is a layered combination of 3 products: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Transylvania + ILIA Lipstick in Strike It Up + Kari Gran Lip Whip in Nice.
The standout product is Estée Lauder liquid eyeliner in a gold shimmer which was from their summer collection. I don’t even know if you can get it anymore as it might have been LE, but you can use any gold eyeliner or eye shadow. I layered golden and copper eyeshadows (mostly all from Alima Pure) to give my eyes dimension and depth, but still keep them bright and subtle as I wanted the lips to be the star of this look.
Smokey Grey Eyes + Gold Accents + Nude Lips
I created it using the Chanel Grey Eyeliner Crayon in Smokey and then smudging it out. I also added in some golden shimmer on my inner corners so give the smokiness a little festive accent and completed the look with only the Kari Gran Lip Whip in Nice.
You could add some natural or vamp lashes to this look to make it a little more glam and I am loving the ESQIDO false lashes at the moment. They are really soft, natural and well-made. You can see which ones would be best suited to you with their lash guide here.
Silver Smokey Eyes + Glam Lashes + Vamp Lips
This holiday makeup look is a bit unconventional as it’s a little on the gothic side, but I really like it! I think it’s a fun way to give your outfit a unique look, personally, and you can make this look your own in a number of ways. You can play the lips up brighter or darker, as you like. You could use a navy blue instead of a purple color like I did and it will look gothic, but also festive with the silver colors. You can use more burgundy wine lip colors for more of a Christmas makeup look and it will look more like a classic holiday makeup look.
Adding in the glam lashes – I used Esqido Lashes in Voila – really gives the look a more dramatic effect and I think that’s fun for the holidays! The silver smokey eyes were created simply using a silver eye shadow and a charcoal eye shadow (to shade in the crease) from the Glamour Eye + Lip Palette from Jane Iredale.

I’m loving these false lashes! They’re super soft to use, really well-made, and you can bend them and cut them to fit your custom eye shape. You can just feel that these are a lot better quality than other lashes. I previously used cheap ones from Target and these are just better.
I picked this eyeliner up back in October from Macy’s and I’ve been loving it ever since! I really wanted a nice grey eyeliner for some reason and this definitely fits the bill. It doesn’t seem like it’d be dark, but it’s like the perfect color for when you don’t want to use brown, but you don’t want to use black either. It’s a great color and perfect for lining eyes and then smudging some on your lids for a simple smokey eye.
New holiday lip whips from Kari Gran are so lovely! They kindly sent them to me to try out and I’ve seriously been loving them! I love Kari Gran Skincare and their original Lip Whips so I knew I would love these too. Nice is a beautiful peachy golden shimmer and it goes on quite sheer, but gives a beautiful festive shine to the lips while nourishing and hydrating them.
My go-to lip product for mixing burgundy and red lipsticks together for custom berry or more vampy purple lip looks is this soft matte lip cream. It stays on for ages, it goes on really easily and blends nicely with other lip products. I highly recommend it if you love berry lips or want to try them out. The color seems dark, but when blended with reds, pinks, and purples, it really gives a nice depth to other colors.
I love this lipstick! It has a tiny bit of golden accent to it, but other than that it’s definitely a true blue color. It blends beautifully with my burgundy lip colors and looks really classic on it’s own as well.
I picked up this palette from Sephora during the F&F event a few months ago and I’ve loved it ever since! Every color is absolutely gorgeous and creates a different effect. My favorite of the 3 is probably Luminous Flush as it gives off the most beautiful glow and makes my skin look so pretty and healthy!
This unique natural liquid foundation is unlike anything I’ve ever tried before! It’s formula includes natural organic plant oils which help combat acne, aging, and other skin issues. It actually helps improve your skin while wearing it! The consistency of it takes a bit getting used to as it’s super watery and runny and you literally need a few drops to cover your entire face. It’s lovely and definitely worth the price. Mine is in the lightest shade and suits my skin pretty perfectly. My only recommendation is moisturizing properly before application as this will settle into dry patches if you don’t.
Shimmery burgundy bronze lip whip is so gorgeous for the holidays. It goes perfectly over the top vampy and burgundy lip colors alike! I also love wearing it alone for a bit of color on days when I just want my lips to stay hydrated, soft, pretty and plump. This works really well 🙂
