Pantone 2015 Color of the Year Marsala

I’m really loving the latest Pantone Color of the Year for 2015: Marsala!

I love the name of it; it sounds so earthy and it’s fitting because the color itself is an earthy, muted rouge.

Since it’s kind of a tricky color, I decided it would be fun to share a few ways you can rock this awesome new color all through the year ♥

Marsala Beauty

This is probably the easiest way to rock the pantone color of the year because you can just purchase a pretty lipstick or eye shadow in this shade and it’s easy to wear in a number of ways. You can use an eye shadow in marsala and combine it with charcoals and greys to create unique smokey eye makeup. You can use lipsticks and pair it up with bright neutral eye makeup or combine marsala shades on both your eyes and lips. It’s really just a matter of how subtle or bold you want to be.

Marsala Style

Wearing marsala and adding it to your outfits is fairly easy, though it might seem trickier than purchasing a lipstick in this shade. You just have to find the right pieces to wear in this color. My favorites include jackets, dresses, and boots or even some accessories in this pretty color. It’s an easy way to keep your outfits edgy, but add a pop of color or even add some depth to brighter outfits without going to dark or wearing black or brown.

The Magic of Marsala

I’m really loving this gorgeous color for the pantone color of the year 2015. I think it’s such a pretty, yet unique, color that anyone could look good in whether you’re rocking this color in a pretty lipstick or a dress. It’s clearly a slightly lighter and brighter shade of burgundy and I think that makes it perfect for everyone as it’s not too dark or too pale so it easily can be matched to anyone’s particular style or taste.

Okay, when I think of “Marsala” I think of Chicken Marsala. Now that that’s out of the way…
