I’m obsessed with organic balms and I use them every single day. Although I love my face oils, I find myself reaching for balms a lot more as of late so I thought I would share a few of my favorite organic balms with you guys. If you’re in the market for a good balm, I hope these help you out as much as they’ve done for me 🙂
My Favorite Organic Balms
MAHALO Balm
Mahalo Balm is one of my favorites because it’s literally a cure-all for so many things. I apply some onto acne spots, scars, minor burns and cuts, sun burns, redness, and if you want more hydration. I’ve even applied it to ingrown hairs to great effect.
I’m not a huge fan of the scent, but it works so well that now the scent is synonymous with miracles haha.
The formula includes tons of skin-loving oils, butters, and extracts for irritated skin so it’s great for calming any kind of inflammation. Also included are sun-protecting plant oils like carrot seed oil and kukui which actually have natural SPF as well, making them ideal for protecting skin from sun damage and after-sun healing. It’s a great one to have in your medicine cabinet and lasts ages as you only need to smallest amount. Well worth the price for it’s quality, effectiveness and versatility.
Key Ingredients: Turmeric, Tamanu, Carrot, Neem, Avocado and Kukui.
Best For: Skin inflammation, sun burns, minor cuts and burns, healing minor scars or scar prevention (like with cuts/burns), and extra sun protection or after-sun healing.

Herbfarmacy Mallow Beauty Balm
The Mallow Beauty Balm from Herbfarmacy is another one of those organic balms which you can use for a number of things. It’s great on chapped noses, rough elbows and knees, and it’s wonderful as a skin-calming moisturizer as well. I’ve used it on my face as an all-over calming face balm at night or when my skin feels super inflamed to great effect.
I’ve used it on my nose when I had a cold to soothe any dryness or irritation and on ingrown hairs and burns.
It’s touted as being good for fine lines and wrinkles, but I don’t have too many of those yet so can’t really comment on that effect. That said, it’s a wonderful balm for hydration that doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. It’s perfect for any and all skin types including acne prone and sensitive, in my opinion.
Key Ingredients: Marshmallow and Mullein flowers
Best For: Redness, Irritation, Chapped Noses, Rough Elbows and Knees, Light but Ultra Nourishing Skin Hydration for All Skin Types

Suti Cleanse Organic Balm
An oldie, but a goodie, this awesome Suti Cleansing Balm combines so many uses into one product! It can be used as a hydration mask, gentle exfoliant (when used with a muslin cloth or wash cloth), cleansing balm, and hydrating balm, of course.
It smells lovely, the organic formula is simple (but hard to replicate – I’ve tried!), and it works SO well, even in the summer time.
I have tried many cleansing balms and none of them come close to this one. It’s superior. If you want a balm that is specifically meant for cleansing, removing makeup, and soothing and hydrating skin, this is it.
Key Ingredients: Avocado Butter, Sunflower Seed Oil, Lime, Mandarin, and Lavender
Best For: Skin Cleansing, Removing Makeup, Gentle Exfoliation, Moisture Mask, and Hydrating Balm for All Skin Types (including acne prone skin)
Ursa Major Fortifying Balm
The Ursa Major Fortifying Face Balm is a relatively new discovery for me. What I found to be super unique about this balm is that it doesn’t feel like a balm at all, but it has all the nourishing qualities that you might find in a balm.
This is a great choice for anyone who hates having an oily residue left on their skin or wants something more balancing.
This would work especially well for acne prone and oily skin types because it’s not heavy on the skin and it soaks into skin without leaving a film behind. It’s brilliant for calming, balancing, and soothing skin without feeling heavy or having an oily feel to it. It feels more like a slightly runny face moisturizer than a balm, but it definitely gives skin that much-needed hydration.
Key Ingredients: Aloe, Witch Hazel, White Willow Bark, Kendi Seed Oil, Carrot Seed Oil, Birch Sap and Olive Leaf Extract
Best For: Acne Prone Skin that Needs Hydration, People Who Hate the Feeling of Typical Oil Type Balms, and Oily Skin that Need Balance
MAHALO Rare Indigo Balm
The Rare Indigo Balm is amazing for skin irritations and redness. I love this for when my skin is dealing with breakout, redness, or dry skin due to harsh weather. It’s also great to use right after face masks to replenish and balance.
The formula includes other glow-enhancing ingredients, as well, like vitamin C, acai and marula to help even skin tone, brighten, and encourage collagen production.
The scent of this balm is also an experience in and of itself and is ideal to use right before bed for a calm, relaxed mind.
Key Ingredients: Rare Indigo, Hemp, Murumuru Butter, Babassu, Tsubaki Tea Seed Oil, Kukui, Acai and CoQ10
Best For: Skin Irritations like Rosacea, Dermatitis, Psoriasis, Brightening Dull Skin, and Smoothing Fine Lines, Anyone Who Wants A Scent Experience with their Balm!

May Lindstrom Blue Cocoon Beauty Balm
This Blue Cocoon Balm from May Lindstrom is another awesome organic balm for anyone dealing with irritated skin. It has a lovely scent to it and, like all May Lindstrom SKIN products, a bit of a chocolate vanilla hint to it among the floral and herbal notes.
This blue-hued balm is ideal for acne prone skin or any skin types dealing with inflammation.
I love using this balm when my skin is dealing with numerous breakouts or just feels inflamed. It smells incredible, sweet, floral, and sexy (weird as that sounds), and the potent plant ingredients are wonderful for healing skin from breakouts and other issues while offering skin hydration and evening out skin tone. It’s a brilliant nighttime skin treatment and the scent is said to help calm and clear your mind before bed.
Key Ingredients: Camellia, Blue Tansy, Marula, Yangu Oil, Raw Cacao Seed Butter, and Baobab oil
Best For: Acne Prone Skin, Skin Irritations, Healing Breakouts, Evening Skin Tone Out, Healing Skin, and Calming Your Mind Before Bed.
Suti Purity Organic Balm – Discontinued
Suti’s Purity Organic Balm is another great balm for hydrating skin. It’s super light and smells lovely. If you have a hard time keeping your skin hydrated, this one is a great choice. The jar might seem small, but you need the tiniest amount to hydrate your entire face and neck.
It melts right into skin and keep skin calm, nourished, and clear.
I love using this one in tandem with the Cleanse Organic Balm for great results any time of year. You can also use this on any other parts of the body that need extra hydration like chest, neck, elbows, knees, and breasts (can’t neglect the girls! 😉 )
Key Ingredients: Sunflower Seed Oil, Apricot Oil, Calendula and Lavender
Best For: Deeply Soothing Skin Hydration for All Skin Types
