It’s been awhile since I’ve reviewed any Alpha-H products and I was lucky to get my hands on these lovelies to review for you which, let’s be honest, was always going to be amazing.
First up, there are 2 Liquid Gold type treatments that I was able to try out as well as a sunscreen and a face mist toner type and there was not a single product I didn’t like. I wasn’t really surprised by this as I’ve been a huge fan of Alpha-H, even before they ever launched here in the USA so yep. I’m kind of a big deal. I mean they are…

This serum is amazing, but after so many incredible Alpha-H products, I’m hardly surprised. It has very similar results to the LG Toner Exfoliant, but this has a bit more moisturizing properties to it with more anti-aging ingredients thrown in as well as opposed to the LG Toner which is really just a straight off exfoliating treatment. Both work really well and do slightly different things, but I think this night serum is better for those fighting wrinkles and the occasional breakout. Included in the formula are (of course) glycolic acid, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide (helps with every skin issue under the sun), vitamin A and collagen-boosting peptides so you know you’re getting a super potent age-fighting serum with this one. During use, I saw a difference in my skin overnight, like with most Alpha-H Liquid Gold products, but this one really does give skin an incredible glow and seems to improve hydration levels and overall clarity of the skin which is a big one for me. I can’t recommend this enough if you’re looking for something to combat the signs of aging and maybe the occasional breakout – this is just the thing. My only peeve with this is the smell – it’s just funky smelling and I think all of their LG products have similar scents so it must be the glycolic acid in the formula. If you can put the scent aside, this is brilliant. If you’re more concerned with breakouts, you’ll want to go with the LG Toner and their Balancing Moisturizer + Gentle Exfoliant products which are great for acne prone skin types (though not sensitive skin).
This botanical lightening serum focuses on brightening up dark spots and pigmentation utilizing a host of potent ingredients such as ferulic acid, an antioxidant that helps to brighten skin and inhibit melanin production therefore reducing skin discolorations. Also included in the formula are glycolic acid, cucumber and hibiscus extracts, and waltheria indica which work to boost collagen production, brighten and tone, and reduce age spots. I loved using this as both a night treatment and also a day treatment to fight off free radicals. If you do use this during the day though, make sure you absolutely apply sunscreen as it will make your skin more sensitive to the sun. This definitely helps to brighten up the skin and give an overall brightness and clarity to your skin tone. It’s not like a whitening lotion which makes you feel like your skin is being bleached – this uses botanical and pharmaceutical grade vitamin ingredients to brighten your skin’s radiance and it really works well!
This face toner is one that I initially wrote off, but that I really find to be a valuable component for hydration now! It’s a hydrating face mist that includes witch hazel, aloe, papaya and lavender to calm, brighten, cleanse, tone, and hydrate skin. The witch hazel is a nice element to fight bacteria as well, especially if breakouts are a concern and I love that this toner is very calming, but seems to really help serums do their job that much better. Also, the packaging is brilliant and comes out in a delightfully relaxing fine mist. Definitely a great one if you want a toner that helps your products work more efficiently while also balancing the skin.
Although this sunscreen is not the most natural, it is certainly one of the most gentle and easily applied ones I’ve ever tried. It seems almost to be clay based (though not drying at all) because it has no white cast at all, it doesn’t irritate my super sensitive eyes (which even natural ones have been known to do), and it goes on like a typical face cream and truly feels protective. You can apply this alone as a sunscreen and moisturizer because it really does seem to function well as both and I’ve loved using it alongside the LG products to protect my skin during the day. Pomegranate and mango seed butter in the formula both offer natural sun protection against UV rays and free radicals while fighting photo aging and hydrating the skin. I actually may repurchase this, if not for the fact that it has no white cast and is easily applied, then for the fact that my eyes are never irritated when using it.
Overall, this round of Alpha-H products were just as wonderful as any Alpha-H products I’ve tried and then some. When I run out of them, I’ll certainly be looking to repurchase all of the above.
