New Green Beauty Discoveries!

I have been discovering a ton of new green beauty products the past few months, you guys. So much so that I literally feel overwhelmed at the thought of doing a separate review for each one. I will probably do a more in-depth post on some of them, but for now, here are a few of the things I’ve really been loving lately!

New Green Beauty Discoveries!

Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Primer for Oily Skin

I tried the Smooth Affair Primer and Brightener a million years ago and I’ve been a fan ever since so when they released a version of that primer for oily skin, I knew I would love it as well (and I do!). If you have stuck around since the early days of this blog, you will know how much I have STRUGGLED #thestruggleisreal to find a primer that didn’t make my skin incredibly angry. Every primer I tried made my skin react in a horrible way. This is one of the very few that doesn’t (thank the Green Beauty Gods). If you have the same struggles as me, try this primer. You won’t regret it! Oh, and did I mention it smells lovely?

Jane Iredale D20 Hydrating Face Mist

I talked about the D20 Face Mist – HERE – but if you don’t want to check out a whole other post, then I’ll just say that I love it! It smells lovely, the packaging is classy and travel-friendly, and the ingredients include aloe, algae, and various floral extracts. It’s one of the best face mists I’ve found for freshening up makeup throughout the day or simply cooling you off on a hot day without disturbing your makeup.

100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Pomegranate Oil Lipstick in Peony

I discovered a lovely new lipstick from 100% Pure that’s the perfect petal pink lip color for spring and summer months! The color is called Peony and pairs perfectly with smoky eye makeup and brighter day makeup looks as well. They’ve included organic pomegranate oil and other plant nutrients in the formula so it’s very nourishing and doesn’t dry lips out.

100% Pure Yerba Mate Sunscreen Spray SPF 30

This awesome mineral sunscreen spray from 100% Pure has an impressive SPF30 protection and includes skin-protective yerba mate in the formula 🙂 It was kindly sent to me from 100% Pure to review. It doesn’t have a very strong smell at all and leaves a slight white cast so it won’t be replacing my regular sunscreen sprays any time soon, but I do like that it’s a mineral sun spray instead of a chemical one. I’m just not a big fan of the white cast it leaves on me and, for the price, it’s quite a small amount that you get. I would consider purchasing this one if the price was better or if the container was larger. It seems like highway robbery to pay $35 for such a small bottle when I can get a large COOLA sun spray for $1 more.

100 Percent Pure Pomegranate Lipstick and Yerba Mate Sunscreen Spray and Sun Stick

100% Pure Everywhere Sun Stick SPF 30

The 100% Pure Everywhere Sun Stick boasts SPF30 so it offers a lot of protection. It’s quite light and doesn’t break my skin out, but it does leave a slight white cast so I’ve only used it underneath makeup. Under my makeup, it works well to protect my skin on super hot days, but I don’t think I would use it for anything else. The white cast is too noticeable. If you’re incredibly pale, it might not be an issue, but for anyone with any kind of tan, this probably won’t work in your favor. That said, if you want to wear it under makeup, it makes a good base 🙂

Leonor Greyl Hair Care

I’ve been testing out Leonor Greyl Paris for several months now and I really love these hair care products. The shampoo and hair mask are very nourishing, gentle and light. The hair serum and leave-in treatment mist are great for helping keep my hair soft, manageable, and frizz-free. I love the pre-shampoo treatment, but I’m not sure it quite beats my favorite one from Kumari Luxury. That said, the hair, skin and body oil is really lovely! I love using it straight out of the shower on hair, skin and nails for an all-over glow 🙂 These products definitely feel like luxury salon quality hair care products, but I love the cleaner ingredients. That said, I’m not sure how cost-effective these are given how expensive the products are. Maybe save up to treat yourself to these because they’re on the pricier end of things, but so, so worth it!

sappho organics foundation and mascara

Sappho Organics Liquid Foundation in Mia

I’ve been loving this liquid foundation by Sappho Organics! The lightest shade suits me pretty well (though it’s a little light now that I’m slightly tan from summer) and I LOVE the ingredients of this one! It’s formulated in a base of organic aloe vera juice and includes a host of plant essences, oils, and extracts. This formula is SUPER light, but offers decent light to medium coverage. I think it would be brilliant for anyone struggling with acne or who find other foundations to be irritating to their skin. This one is very soothing. It doesn’t beat my Gressa Foundation, but it definitely comes close 🙂

Sappho Organics Paradigm Vegan Mascara

This mascara is pretty nice as far as vegan mascaras go, but it does have a tendency to flake and get in my eye which makes the whole situation go to shit. It’s kind of a bummer because I love how dark the tint is! That said, if your eyes are not sensitive allergy-prone like mine, you should be fine. This gives great volume, but I wish the formula with a little thicker so it would hold for longer. It seems to wear and flake off after only a few hours. I prefer Pacifica or Jane Iredale to this one so not a win for me, but still a good pick.

skinny and co coconut oil

Skinny & Co. Coconut Oil

I’m OBSESSED with Skinny & Co. Coconut oil products as of late! Their coconut oil is on another level! I’ve been using it for cooking and I love that the flavor is light and barely noticeable. It makes it great for sauteing veggies or baking, especially if you want the health benefits, but hate the taste of coconut oil. I’m also loving their oil pulling coconut oil which has added peppermint infused in it. It’s amazing for cleaning and soothing gums and mouth after flossing. If you’ve been oil pulling, this is a great one to try!  Lastly, their whipped body butter is made with coconut oil, but I find it way too heavy for summer, unfortunately. That said, it’s brilliant on days when I’m going swimming because it keeps my skin from drying out in the salt water/ chlorine water so I’ve been using it for that 🙂

earthpaste toothpaste

Earthpaste Natural Toothpaste

Another great discovery has been this Earthpaste Natural Toothpaste. I’m not a huge fan of the lemon flavor, but the wintergreen one is on point! It’s kind of a weird sensation if you’ve never tried clay based toothpaste before, but it’s definitely easier than others I’ve tried and the mint flavor makes this an easy one to transition you into more natural oral care products.

jane iredale concealer

Jane Iredale Active Light Undereye Concealer

Last, but definitely not least, is the Active Light Underye Concealer from Jane Iredale. It reminds me of a more natural YSL Touche Eclat kind of product, but it gives better coverage and isn’t as light. It does have great brightening properties to it and I love Jane Iredale products. This is a great one for light makeup days or days when your dark circles are haunting you (which is every day for me!) ♥
