My 5 Favorite Blemish Clearing Treatments for Acne Prone Sensitive Skin

Acne is one of the biggest confidence killers out there when it comes to your skin and it’s no wonder – if your skin isn’t in the best shape, it can really make you feel unattractive and, oddly, unsuccessful. I know that might sound weird, but back when my acne was pretty bad, that’s exactly how I felt. Ugly. Unsuccessful. And, for some reason, I always felt like everyone was looking at it, judging me and picking me apart for having bad skin. Or worse, feeling disgusted when they looked at me. Was any of this true? Probably not. But it certainly doesn’t lessen the blow, even if you know you’re being irrational.

This sort of thing can take a mental toll on your self-confidence and happiness which is why I’ve put together a small, but effective list of blemish clearing treatments to help you get rid of your spots once and for all. This year is the first year that I’ve noticed a significant difference in my spots to the point where acne is not a big issue for me anymore and it’s definitely thanks to some of these products. So, with that, I hope some of you will find this helpful and informative when choosing an acne treatment that will, not only help get rid of spots, but prevent them, treat scarring, heal your skin, and also, be right for your specific skin type.

My Top 5 Favorite Blemish Clearing Treatments for Acne Prone Sensitive Skin

juice beauty blemish clearing serum - My Top 5 Favorite Blemish Clearing Treatments for Acne Prone Sensitive Skin

Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Serum – Juice Beauty’s Blemish Clearing Serum is one that I, surprisingly, have not reviewed. I don’t really know why because this used to be my favorite serum in the world and I just sort of forgot about it until I came to write this post. Anyway, if you want a full review, let me know in the comments. This serum is fantastic for those with normal to oily to combination skin types, especially in the Summer time, and it’s very gentle for anyone who finds other treatments to be too abrasive or drying. This serum’s super light, almost gel texture makes this perfect for hot temperatures. Plus, this serum is super calming and clearing for acne and made with all certified organic ingredients which also aid in diminishing fine lines, scarring and pigmentation. Oh, plus it’s a more affordable treatment at only $29 and it smells lovely as well!

antonia burrell natural glow cleansing oil - My Top 5 Favorite Blemish Clearing Treatments for Acne Prone Sensitive Skin

Antonia Burrell Natural Glow Cleansing Oil – I was really lucky to try some Antonia Burrell samples from Beautyhabit and was amazed at the results these products gave to my skin! I know I have sited the Cleansing Oil, but really, their Cream Supreme is just as incredible and I’ve since purchased both of these many times over. Both are naturally formulated and they’re sort of skin care all-in-one wonders because they work simultaneously to clear acne, pigmentation, blackheads, whiteheads, wrinkles, and any other imbalance your skin may have. Although, I think the inspiration for the brand was actually meant to be for older woman who are still dealing with acne, but needed an anti-aging treatment as well, anyone can use these products without issue, in my opinion. If any of that sounds like you, this is the line you need! Their products not only work, but they work fast! I started seeing some results from using these within a few days. I was lucky enough to use the cleansing oil sample for about a week and a half before I ran out of it and I can honestly say that, coupled with the Alpha-H Balance Moisturizer, this did incredible things for my skin. They are a bit on the expensive side, but totally worth it in my book! If you want to get added value for this since it is a cleanser, I would massage it into your skin and then leave it on for a few minutes to let it fully dissolve dirt and work on healing your acne. In this way, it works more like a treatment for skin and you’ll feel more of the effects.

alpha-h moisturizer and gentle exfoliant - My Top 5 Favorite Blemish Clearing Treatments for Acne Prone Sensitive Skin

Alpha-H Balancing Moisturizer + Gentle Exfoliant – If you’ve been following me for awhile, it’s likely you’ve heard me mention Alpha-H and it’s because they offer incredible skincare products that deliver solid results. I love so many of their products, but this is my favorite because it has kept my skin relatively clear for nearly a year. The only trouble I have with this treatment is, occasionally, it does make my skin a bit dry. This is one I would say you should definitely keep away from your eye area. Like, well away, because it can make your eye area peel and I’m speaking from experience. I wouldn’t recommend this for sensitive skin types, but any other type could use this on their face and reap the great results. If you think this might be too much to use on your skin on a daily basis, one of the Alpha-H treatments like Liquid Gold, LG Perfecting Mask, or their LG Face Cream will all be great as weekly treatments if you’re afraid of getting too dry. Click here to check out my reviews for Alpha-H products.

may lindstrom problem solver face mask - My Top 5 Favorite Blemish Clearing Treatments for Acne Prone Sensitive Skin

May Lindstrom The Problem Solver Face Mask – I was actually sent a full size sample of this for review from the lovely May Lindstrom ( full review here ), but I’ve since purchased it over 5 times. This is my HG face mask, by far. I honestly love this face mask so much and it really is my problem solver! Gentle, but intense, this face mask is naturally formulated with ingredients like raw cacao, charcoal, nutmeg, and various clays, to name a few, which all work to detox, rejuvenate and stimulate healing on your skin. It smells delicious, just like chocolate, and feels like a gentle scrub when you go to rinse it off. I can honestly say that, when you use this, you see an IMMEDIATE difference! It might sound funny, but I legitimately ask my boyfriend if he can see a difference when I use and test out products because I feel like sometimes, maybe I’m just having wishful thinking and he’s totally unbiased. He always comments on how great my skin looks after I use this and you can actually see the results. My skin looks instantly calmer (less redness), clearer, and feels softer and smoother.

Rainwater Botanicals Troubled Skin Serum - My Top 5 Favorite Blemish Clearing Treatments for Acne Prone Sensitive Skin

Rainwater Botanicals Troubled Skin Serum – An oldie, but a goodie, this Troubled Skin Serum from Rainwater Botanicals is AMAZING! It’s formulated with all natural, organic and wild crafted ingredients that gently heal skin. This one takes a bit longer to see results, but it’s not abrasive or drying or too intense to use which makes it great for sensitive, dry or highly irritated skin. It’s a light lotion so it isn’t super heavy on the skin and it smells lovely. You can get a small pump bottle of this for only $9 so it’s definitely worth a go at that price! You can see reviews for some of my favorite RB products – here.

So that’s all for my top blemish clearing treatments for acne prone skin. I hope you found it helpful and definitely try some of these out to see how they work for you!

Ugh, I hate acne! I have acne prone skin, which I thought I would get over as I got older, but not so much. I still get teenage-like breakouts. I’ll have to look into some of these products. Thanks!

Yeah I know what you mean. I definitely recommend the Antonia Burrell line for you. It is meant to help clear all signs of acne, pigmentation, scarring AND aging. It’s not drying to skin at all and the products are all natural and smell lovely. They are pretty pricey, but worth it, in my opinion, as you really won’t need any other products at that point.

Oh, I remember the year when I had a really bad acne hun, it was just horrible and I can agree that it felt like everyone’s looking at it LOL. I think that was the first time I used Pro-Activ which worked like magic. Then years later, although it wasn’t a bad acne breakout while here in the UK, I tried using Pro-Activ again, this time, it didn’t work! Very strange. I’ve heard of many good things about Alpha H, I might take a look at this next time (hope there’s no next time for acne breakout though! haha)

I’ve been dealing with pretty awful hormonal acne so far this year, but *knocks on wood* my skin seems to have settled down the past few weeks. These products are all new to me, but they sound so tempting! I will definitely look into these in the future when my current products run out 😀

Thankfully I never had acne *touch wood*. But sometimes those tiny pimples decide to pay me a visit and especially on the eve of something special. To be frank, mine happens mostly when I drink less water! 😛
So I don’t have to put in much hard work, except for drinking litres of water, applying a good facewash/exfoliator and moisturizer. I haven’t tried any of the products and I’m hoping I never have to. It definitely makes me underconfident and self-conscious. Great post, loved it totally! 🙂

I definitely agree water helps any issue with your body whether acne. dry skin or another health concern. Natural is always best, but if I can speed up the process, I’m all for that! ♥
