Miss Peregrine's School for Peculiar Children Book Review

Miss Peregrine’s School for Peculiar Children Book Review

I actually read the book, Miss Peregrine’s School for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs, in early spring, but I completely forgot about it until recently! Since the movie comes out this month, I thought I would share my thoughts on the book in case you guys want to go out and read the book before seeing the film.

So, What’s the Story?

The story of this book focuses on Jacob whose grandfather has just passed away. Everyone is saying he was killed in a freak accident, but Jacob knows the truth: he was murdered. Months of therapy leads him to an abandoned orphanage on a Welsh island.

The way the author tells this story is very unique. The author, Ransom Riggs, uses old photos throughout the book to support the narrative that are from the turn of the century (but fit perfectly into the story!).

There are several books in the series so if you want to get more of the story after seeing the first film, you totally can 😉

I adored this book and I totally want to see the movie. I plan on reading the sequels but I only enjoy reading when I’m on vacation. I know that’s strange.

I loved this book! I got to see Ransom Riggs talk about it at the Texas Teen Book Festival. I can’t wait to see the movie! I’m excited to see how they portray all of the characters.

Hi. I’m reading this book at the moment. I probably would have read it, but I managed to misplace my Kindle for a couple of weeks. So far I’m really enjoying it #weekendblogshare x
