Jane Iredale just released their 2015 fall makeup collection and it’s gorgeous, as expected! I was fortunate enough to get a few samples to test out before the official release this past Monday. This fall makeup collection is meant to evoke a playful and totally wearable selection of colors that will suit anyone for the fall season! On top of that, it marks the debut of a new Smooth Affair Primer formulated specifically for oily skin. As a lover of their Smooth Affair Primer which works to hydrate and brighten skin, I’m interested to see how the more balancing formula fares for those with oily and troubled skin types as the formula includes oil-balancing botanicals and mattifying plant ingredients to help heal, calm and balance acne prone skin. On top of that, they’ve release 4 new eye shadows and a new collection of beautiful lip crayons alongside lengthening mascara and lash conditioner!

Of course, the samples came in the signature violet packaging that Jane Iredale is so known for. I always love the sprig of lavender they include with every package. Can you believe the founder, Jane, harvests the lavender from her garden?! It always makes these packages smell incredible!

The fall makeup collection includes an entirely new line of Play-On Lip Crayons and I was lucky to get hold of 2 of them! Pictured below are Saucy (bright coral) and Hot (bright berry red). These lip crayons are formulated with natural and organic plant oils and balms to help hydrate and nourish lips while you wear them. On top of that, the color payoff is awesome. Both colors are very pigmented and look gorgeous on!

The two pure pressed eye shadows I received were in Forest (top left) and Mermaid (bottom right) as shown in the photo below.

I’m absolutely in love with Forest as it totally complements my hazel eye color and it has surprising depth for a green shadow. It’s semi-matte and very creamy.

Mermaid was a surprisingly cool seafoam color, but it just looks like shimmery light green, in my opinion. Not that that makes it a not pretty color, but I personally thought it would be more blue tinted. I don’t know why, but there it is. That said, the color is very pretty when used with Forest and gives a nice effect to the eyes when used together.

These eye shadows can be used wet or dry as eye shadow, eyeliner, or whatever you like. They’re both incredibly beautiful on the lids, very pigmented and easy to apply.

Here are all of the shadow and lip colors swatched:

(Left to Right) Mermaid, Forest, Saucy and Hot

The last item I received was a lengthening mascara in Jet Black, but I didn’t photograph it because it looks like any other Jane Iredale mascara. That said, it’s definitely not just ANY mascara! It’s formulated with a blend of seaweed lipids and wheat proteins to help thicken, lengthen and curl lashes. My verdict is that it must work because my lashes really curled and looked full!

Your posts make me want to play around with makeup even though most days, it’s a good day if I run a comb through my hair. Maybe on my lighter rotations, I’ll make more of an effort? 😀 It looks like it’d be fun! 😛
