I Just Spent Way Too Much Money – Here’s What I Got

Last Modified: January 29, 2016 at 2:04 pm by Tianna | Leave a comment

I’m not proud of this, nor am I posting on this to “show off;” I just want to share some of the fun things I picked up recently in a bout of impulsive shopping that I probably shouldn’t have done. I guess that’s what happens when you get your tax return…

I Just Spent Way Too Much Money – Here’s What I Got

What’s kind of awkward and embarrassing about this is that most of the beauty goods I bought were literally all oral care products. Albeit, they are supposed to be really good ones, but I digress. Then, I also picked up some items I saw in review recently like RMS Beauty’s Lunar Cream Eye Shadow which I’ve been pining after for ages and finally decided on after seeing yet another review for it and also some nail polishes because I have become weirdly obsessed with weekly manicures (done by me of course and horribly).

The Beauty Goods

Botot Concentrated Mouthwash Elixir

Both this mouthwash and the Botot Toothpaste are formulated from all natural botanical ingredients such as gillyflower (similar to clove), ginger and others in order to clean your mouth without toxins and also reinforce and strengthen your enamel. They’re both fluoride free. Despite the fact that both were pretty pricey, the mouthwash is in a concentrate so you use only a few drops of it in a glass of water each time so it should be pretty long lasting.

Botot Toothpaste

As for this toothpaste, a lot of the reviews I read said it actually cleans teeth really well and doesn’t leave behind any film or residue like most drugstore fluoride toothpastes would. Also, this is the original formula for a toothpaste that was originally made especially for King Louis XV of France in 1755 which I think is pretty cool.

Curaprox Ultra Soft Toothbrush X 2

These toothbrushes are specially made with some kind of super soft material called Curen which is supposed to be much stiffer than typical nylon bristles, but also a lot gentler so that you get a really deep clean without damaging your teeth or making your gums bleed.

Curaprox Gums & Braces Toothbrush

I don’t have braces, but I like the idea of having a mini brush specifically for my gums and gum area because I always feel like the toothbrush I currently have never reaches the edge of my teeth where tooth meets gums and, being that I’m kind of OCD about hygiene, I really would like my teeth to be as clean as possible. A clean mouth can help prevent sickness, gum disease, bad breath and ultimately disease so there.

Kure Bazaar Nail Lacquer in Boyfriend

Next up, I actually bought 2 nail lacquers from Kure Bazaar that I’ve been wanting for AGES. Literally ages. This grey/green/blue variety called Boyfriend as I don’t have many green blue colors and I’m a huge fan of stormy looking colors for some reason.

Kure Bazaar Nail Lacquer in Lychee

I also picked up this nail lacquer called Lychee that’s a beautiful bright coral pink and I think it’s perfect for Spring!

RMS Beauty Cream Eye Shadow in Lunar

Again, this eye shadow was on my list for ages and I finally caved in and bought it. My boyfriend demanded that I clean out my beauty cabinet and makeup case before I bought any of this, which I have, and so now feel slightly more justified in my purchases…slightly.

ILIA Beauty Organic Tinted Lip Conditioner in Shell Shock

As Spring is nearly here, I think this is the perfect bright pink lip color to rock in the coming months and I’m a huge fan of ILIA Beauty so how could I say no?

Rodin Olio Lusso Lip Balm Ring

This last one was actually a free gift I got because I spent over $100 ( the horror ). If you decide to take a dive off the deep end and spend that much, just enter code: VALENTINE at checkout and you’ll get a free one too! You might have to hurry, though, because I’m not sure if it expires soon or not.

I wish it ended here, but I also spent money on a number of beauty things this past weekend as well (yup, I have a problem) and I instagrammed them so here are some photos:

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light

This powder is one I’ve been wanting for a few months now and I am loving it so far! Dim Light is perfect for those who want a barely noticeable glow powder. This has no shine or shimmer or glitter; it is the closest makeup product I’ve found to actually looking like a real ethereal glow. It’s so pretty and subtle and is a great choice for pale people like me who have a hard time finding the right shade of highlighter or even darker skinned ladies who just want a really natural glow with no shimmer to it. Expensive, but worth it.

EDIT: See my review here

The Highlighting Powder in Box & MAC Cosmetics Oval 6 Brush

Again, the powder is amazing and I’ll review it when I get a chance to. Aside from that, the new MAC Oval Brushes are AMAZING. I have the Oval 3 and Oval 6 and they are so incredible versatile and they apply makeup really effortlessly. I’m not the most skilled at makeup application, but these make it easier, blending for you and applying makeup in a way that seems nearly undetectable.

Tons of Lush Goodies including the ones below and a few small gifts for my roomies because I had extra money, for once, and felt like being generous so I purchased a small bar of the Dirty soap for one and The Kiss Lip Tint Balm for another. Other than the things below, I also picked up the King of Skin Body Butter Bar which smells amazing and is great for hydrating legs and arms straight out of the shower. My boyfriend also picked up the Teo Tea Tree Deodorant bar which is actually surprisingly effective at keeping underarms dry and odor-free all day (10 hours +).

Including Yuzu & Cocoa Bubble Bar (heavenly if you like sweet scents!), a new shampoo bar that’s supposed to be scalp stimulating and smells like cinnamon for the boyfriend, Ice Blue Soap ( my boyfriend’s favorite), Whoosh Shower Jelly because I’ve been curious about this for ages (smells very citrusy and has a jello like consistency).

The Fashion Goods

And onto the clothing. *Sigh* I know I spent too much on all this stuff, but in my defense, all the items I purchased were on clearance and I shop like this maybe once or twice a year. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

Brave Soul Color Block BodyCon Dress

I just thought this looked like a pretty dress that was also comfortable so yep.

I’ve been wanting some easy slip-on style shoes and I loved these floral flats too much to say no. I think they have the perfect balance of casual and fashionable.

ASOS Boudoir Satin & Mesh Balconette Bra & Thong

I don’t have a white bra for some reason so I bought this set and the markdown was so awesome that I only paid $21 for the set. STEAL!

ASOS LENNON Slipper Shoes

Again, I’ve been wanting simple slip-on flats and these are good for work business casual or even nights out when I don’t want to wear heels. These were under $20.

Anatomicals Nod Off & Let The World Sod Off Silk Sleep Mask

I used to constantly sleep with a sleep mask because I like to sleep in total darkness, but then my old one just fell apart over time; the elastic stretched out and broke and I just never replaced it. Then I saw this one and I love the text on it – so cute!

If you’re not already exhausted by this long, drawn out post, here’s the last thing I purchased :

X Crawford Top by Free People

I bought this top for something in particular, but as it’s kind of a secret right now, I’ll just say I’ve been wanting some items from Free People for ages, but they are seriously expensive! This shirt was $68!! Not sure how I justified paying that much, but this top is so pretty and I am nearly certain this occurrence will never happen again so there.

Hi! Can i ask you if the size of the dockland plimsolls fit correctly? Thank you

    1. March 7, 2014 at 7:28 PM

Hi there! sure – they actually fit my feet kind of tight, but truthfully, it’s only because my feet are quite wide and I have super high arches. If you have either of those foot traits lol, then they might be a little tight at first. Once I kind of broke them in (after about a week), they fit much better. If you don’t have any of those issues, you should be fine and they look adorable on! ♥
