Traveling is difficult enough without trying to look good doing it, but it’s not impossible. In fact, there are a few surefire ways to ensure that traveling is easy, comfortable and stylish. Since spring break is coming up soon and a lot of you may be going on trips, I thought this post would be helpful and fun!
Prepare Ahead of Time
Be sure to plan your trip at least 30 days in advance so you can get a decent price on airfare. Aparently, a new study from CheapAir concluded that the best time to book a flight and get the lowest price was around 54 days beforehand so you’ll want to keep that in mind while planning your trip. Also, you can minimize costs by packing a carry-on bag online and not checking your baggage, packing snacks and books from home like water, power bars, novels, and any travel size OTC medications for your flight as airports tend to inflate the prices for these items. The luggage above from Steamline Luggage is perfect for packing what you need and looking super stylish while you do it.
Again, packing on a carry-on and maybe a messenger bag or handbag so you don’t have to check your luggage are time-savers and anxiety-relievers because you won’t have to pay the extra costs to check your baggage and you won’t have to worry about your things being lost or stolen in transit. That being said, if you pack only carry-ons, make sure everything is travel-friendly sized, especially your cosmetics. I love travel kits like the one above which are perfectly sized to airline regulations and you can put just enough of products you already own in them for your trips.
There’s nothing worse than running to catch your flight in stiff, uncomfortable clothes so make sure your travel outfit is cute AND functional. Good choices include flats (or wedges if you must), jeans or leggings, t-shirt, and a small sweater or jacket depending on the weather. Keep the materials cotton as it’s the most breathable fabric and you don’t want to get all sweaty and smelly after sitting in them for hours on a long flight. Also, it’s easier to catch a nap in comfortable clothes than in a skirt or dress.
These are just some added extras so you can be comfortable and keep yourself occupied during the flight. An eye mask like the one above blocks out light so you can get a decent nap on your next flight. Other essentials include a neck pillow, your Ipod or Iphone (for music), a good book, and some travel sized snacks and drinks. You could even bring along some lavender essential oil to help you relax a bit, if you like.
Overall, traveling can be hectic, but you can ensure that with these tips, you’ll look great and feel great gracefully when you go on your next trip!
