As I said in a previous post, I recently picked up two new Hourglass products at Sephora – the Hourglass Cosmetics Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in Dark Brunette and the 1.5MM Mechanical Gel Eye Liner in Obsidian (review here) and I really am loving both!
The Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in Dark Brunette, specifically, is really lovely because the color matches my brow color very closely and despite being really pigmented, the color also goes on quite soft so it looks relatively natural. I think this has something to do with their innovative formula which claims to combine powder, pencil and wax into one product. You do have to pack on the product to get a REALLY dark brow look, but I like that as I prefer more natural eyebrows on the day to day. I also love that this pencil comes with the little spooly (spooley?) brush on the opposite end of the pencil because I was previously doing my eyebrows with powder and that required me to cart around a small eyeshadow compact and an angled eyebrow makeup brush. It doesn’t seem like a lot, but it’s so much less to carry now that I’m only using this pencil and application is so much faster! Not only that, but the packaging for Hourglass products is pretty much unparalleled in my opinion. I love how beautiful they look in my makeup bag. Couple that with flawless product formulas and gentle ingredients and I’m pretty sold on every Hourglass products I’ve ever tried.
BENEFITS + FEATURES OF THIS GEL LINER (according to Hourglass Cosmetics):
• Buildable formula combines powder, pencil and wax to create the look of naturally fuller, defined brows in one easy step. ✔
• The unique triangular shape allows you to sculpt with broad strokes using the flat edge of the pencil, as well as fill in with fine lines using the pointed tip. ✔
• Natural-looking shades allow you to customize your desired intensity: Layer and apply with more pressure to go dark and bold, or use a lighter touch and blend out to soften for a more natural look. ✔
• Sleek double-ended component has a brush to groom brows into place. ✔
I definitely feel like this product lives up to it’s claims and I’m so happy with it. I really have no complaints at all. It’s the perfect brow product, as far as I am concerned, and I think if you want a gentle, soft formula which is also long lasting, pigmented, and looks pretty in it’s packaging, then definitely give this a try. You won’t regret it! I purchased this in Dark Brunette as my eyebrow hairs, though sparse, are nearly black in color, but I think if you have lighter brown hair you could go with their Soft Brunette color and of course, Blonde if you’re blonde or redhead.
Here is my makeup using nearly all Hourglass products!
Products Used: Hourglass No. 28 Serum + Primer, Veil Fluid Foundation in Porcelain, Arch Brow Sculpt Pencil in Dark Brunette, 1.5mm Mechanical Gel Eyeliner Pencil in Obsidian, Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light, Dior Diorshow Extase Mascara in black, Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Hollow to Contour, and ILIA Tinted Lip Conditioner in Blossom Lady on my lips.
You can get this Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in Blonde, Soft Brunette or Dark Brunette at Sephora.
