Holiday Makeup and Nail Ideas
I’m loving all the holiday makeup and nail ideas I’ve been seeing online lately. I thought I would share some more inspiration for festive makeup whether you celebrate Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Yule, or some other fun holiday!
Gold Eye Makeup and Classic Red Lipstick
This look is so simple and classic for the holidays! Bold red lips are so timeless and pretty on everyone. I love gold eye makeup, as well, because it instantly brightens up your eyes and gives them a sparkle. This one is definitely a favorite for the holiday season!
Gold Eye Makeup and Natural Pink Lips
This makeup look is super flattering for everyone and it’s a bit unexpected because it seems to simple; almost like a barely there look. The golden, amber colors brighten the eyes and bare or natural pink lip colors give the overall impression of a more natural look. It’s very understated in a good way!
Smudged and Smoky Eye Makeup and Red Lips
Smudged, smoky eye makeup is beautiful during the holidays when paired with red lips. It’s great for nighttime parties because its a lot more glamorous than other looks. It feels very dressed up even if you’re wearing something simple. Also, it’s the kind of look that you can wear for any style whether you’re more polished and preppy or a little bit punk.
Gothic Holiday Makeup
I love this gothic inspired holiday makeup look! It’s definitely not something most people will wear for the holidays, but it’s a bold look and I like that. If you love those vampy lip colors, this is a great choice. I used grey and charcoal colors on my eyes, but kept it very fresh and light. Most of the eye makeup work is done with these vamp false lashes. They make your eyes really pop, but you don’t need to layer on much makeup to get the effect.
Bare Eye Makeup and Rich Berry Lips
Most people associate berry lips with smoky eye makeup or something really dramatic. While I love those looks, I love the refreshing take of keeping your eyes (basically) bare and pulling it together with a bold berry lip color. It allows the berry lip to be the center of attention, it’s not much work to do this look, and it looks really beautiful. It definitely allows your natural features to shine through without doing too much work. So, in this case, less is more.
Bronze Smoky Eye Makeup and Nude Lips
This smoky eye makeup look is great for people who are a bit frightened to do a full-on black or charcoal smoky eye, but still want that same kind of effect. Bronze is less dramatic than using super dark colors, but the effect is the same. In fact, I think bronze is more universally flattering and if you use shimmer bronze shadow, it’s literally impossible to mess up. Add a little balm or gloss to your lips and you’re ready!
Navy and Glitter Eye Makeup + Pink/Bare Lips
This is my newest holiday makeup look! I love the color combination of gold, glitter, and navy blue. They’re both so pretty, still feel like a holiday makeup look, but they feel different and more unique. This look is perfect if you want to avoid the classic red holiday look and mix things up while still looking festive. Just make sure to top everything with a bit of loose glitter eyeshadow!
