 Halloween Makeup Guide 2016

Halloween Makeup Guide 2016

It’s officially October, my loves! I’m soooooo excited! Today kicks off the launch of #31DaystoCreepItWeird over on my instagram so I’m pretty stoked about that. Since I will be sharing halloween makeup looks exclusively over on instagram this year (and not on the blog), I thought I would share this Halloween makeup guide here for you guys to get inspired and then, please join me over on my instagram for more inspiration throughout October! I will share Halloween stuff here on the blog, but the makeup inspiration will be exclusive to instagram (snapchat will show BTS stuff and tips! Follow me @greenbeautyglamours on both). Anyway, let’s get onto the inspiration! These looks are a mix of the past 3 years so I hope you enjoy and they help get you into the spirit of Halloween!

Pink Sugar Skull Makeup for Halloween or Dia de Los Muertos! - Halloween Makeup Guide

Pink Sugar Skull Makeup

I’ve done a TON of sugar skull makeup looks over the years. This pink one was my personal favorite, but I’ve also done red, teal, and orange. What color do you guys think I should do next?

Harley Quinn Makeup for Halloween or Cosplay - Halloween Makeup Guide

Harley Quinn Makeup and DIY Halloween Costume

I’ve done Harley Quinn several times, but this one is my personal favorite! It’s more creative than the other ones I’ve created and I loved the costume I made for this! If you want to see a Harley Quinn look using cruelty-free makeup, check here.

Sally Makeup from the Nightmare Before Christmas

Who doesn’t love the Nightmare Before Christmas?! I was so obsessed with this movie when I was younger. I would watch it every year, owned all the t-shirts and merch, and play the music each year to this day. It’s just a Halloween classic, you know?

Creepy Other Coraline Makeup for Halloween - Halloween Makeup Guide

“Other Coraline” Makeup

Coraline is such a creepy children’s story and I loved the film adaptation so, of course, I wanted to create a fun “Other Coraline” look! In hindsight, I think I might use real big buttons if I did this again because it’s hard to get the buttons on your eyes even otherwise. That said, this look is super creepy, fun, and it’s likely that not many other people will do it.

Dead Dorothy from Wizard of Oz - Halloween Makeup Guide

Dead Dorothy Makeup

Dead Dorothy was last year’s costume for me! I actually was part of a Wizard of Oz group costume which was fun. This look was pretty easy to achieve! I used a white button down and navy blue tulle skirt with suspenders for a DIY look, but if you have a pinafore, that would probably be more accurate. I used a cheap $10 wig from Spirit that my friend helped me braid as shown. And then I just made myself look dead and added some fake blood!

Vampire Makeup - Halloween Makeup Guide

Vampire Makeup inspired by The Vampire Diaries

If you follow the entertainment posts on my blog, you’ll know I LOVE The Vampire Diaries! I created this look for instagram last year and it was a lot of fun to be all bloody and scary 🙂 I’m so sad the show is ending this year! Anyone else obsessed with TVD?

Glam Bride of Frankenstein Makeup - Halloween Makeup Guide

Glam Bride of Frankenstein Makeup

I created this look using 100% cruelty-free makeup last year and I really love the effect! It’s such a fun, easy look to achieve with whatever you have on hand. All I purchased was the funky wig (for $10 at Spirit) and then I just used the makeup I already had on hand. If you want to DIY your costume for this, all you need is a black, white or purple dress and some heels (boots or otherwise). You could draw stitches on your hands and stuff to bring it all together et voilà!

Gothic Pop Art Makeup - Halloween Makeup Guide

Gothic Pop Art Makeup

I loved the pop art makeup trend that happened a few years back because it’s actually really easy to do! I made my look gothic for the fun of it, but you can do a more faithful recreation of pop art makeup, if you prefer. All you need is a white or black eye pencil (or gel liner) for the pop art dots and then do your makeup as you normally would with a few exaggerations! Line your lips, expression (surprised, sad, or angry), a line down your nose, and your eyes.

Easy Minnie Mouse Makeup - Halloween Makeup Guide

Easy Minnie Mouse Makeup

This look is incredibly easy to achieve! All you need are some Minnie Mouse ears (you can get them online or at Disneyland), a cute top (red, black, white or stripe work best!), and whatever makeup you already own. Do your makeup as you normally would and pair it with a cute red lip. I did a winged liner look to bring it all together and make it look a bit more glam for adults, but you could keep this super simple, if you prefer, or pair it down to suit a little girl. 100% up to you and super easy to do at the last minute!
