Tag! You’re It!

Halloween Edition

It’s time for a “Halloween Edition” blogger tag! I haven’t done one of these in so long, but I thought it would be kind of fun for the season so I’m doing it 🙂 I previously did this same tag a few years ago so check that one out too! Some of my answers have changed over the years and some haven’t.

What’s your favorite Halloween movie?

My all-time favorite is Nightmare Before Christmas, but as I get older, I find myself really enjoying 90’s slasher films like Scream and Nightmare on Elm Street.

What age did you stop trick-or-treating?

I stopped trick-or-treating at 17. I kept wondering if I could get away with it after 17, but didn’t want to be that weirdo pushing my luck LOL.

Favorite Halloween costume you’ve ever dressed up as?

It’s still THIS Harley Quinn costume! That was my favorite, personally, because I love the character of Harley Quinn and I love how much fun it was to create. A lot of my costumes have been ones that I made myself, but this was my favorite.

Will you dress up this year? If yes, as what?

Honestly, I’m not sure. This is the first year that I’m stumped on what I should be. Shocking, I know! Any ideas?

Do you enjoy haunted attractions?

YESSSS! I love haunted attractions! I always go to local haunted hayrides and, if I can afford it, to local haunted attractions! I love seeing the costumes, the creativity in the mazes, and just having fun with friends.

Vampires or Werewolves?

VAMPIRES! Obviously. They’re just cooler. They are seductive, but also lethal. What’s not to love?

Do you prefer to make or buy your costume?

I prefer making it! Then, you don’t need to worry about looking exactly the same as someone else. Besides, homemade costumes are always more unique 🙂

Michael Myers or Freddie Kruger?

Freddie Kruger for sure! He’s way more terrifying!

Favorite Halloween candy?

Tootsie rolls, smarties, and peanut M&M’s.

Do you decorate your house for Halloween?

Living in an apartment really limits how crazy I can get with decorating, but I still decorate my living room, front door, and balcony (sometimes) with vinyl decals, pumpkins, fall plants (if I can find them!), and lights.

Halloween costumes that you dislike/hate?

Anything without imagination. Or when people dress up because they “liked the costume.” It always annoys me when people don’t put any thought into it, but then I’m a bit of a Halloween purist LOL.

Have you ever repeated a costume? What was it?

When I was young, I was a witch like 3 years in a row. More recently, I was variations of Harley Quinn for 3 years (not in a row!). I did the classic Harley, crazy Harley Quinn (more Arkham inspired), and then another makeup variation.

Do you believe in ghosts?

Yes, definitely. Spirits are always around us.

Do you enjoy scary movies?

I love them! Though, maybe not super scary. Also, I hate crime shows. I’m more of an “escapist” when it comes to horror. I’m not a fan of watching horror movies that could “actually happen.”

Favorite Halloween treat that isn’t store-bought candy?

Caramel apples or brownies.

Favorite way to spend Halloween day/night?

Halloween parties are fun, but I really enjoy going to events or even just passing out Halloween candy is a lot of fun now that I’m adulting 😛

I would totally go trick or treating with you and push that luck, hahaha. I like to think we could both still pass for teenagers! 😛

Twix and Snickers are my favorite Halloween candy. :] I haven’t dressed up in ages, but I still think it’d be fun to (if only I weren’t always working…).

That purple fairy costume is absolutely ADORABLE!! And what fabulous photography, ♥ it! I’m a sucker for vampire movies. I’ve seen the one at the top, very interesting. But, (are you ready? cause this is truly a ‘guilty pleasure’ movie) I have to say my favorite is Queen Of The Damned with Stuart Townsened. (SO CUTE!! ♥) Well met, my fellow Halloween lover! #smallvictoriessundaylinkup

    Finally have some answers! lol
    1) Too many to list! But I do love Halloween (both Carpenter’s & Zombie’s versions)
    2) I was still in grade school..just can’t remember the grade #! Though, now I buy Halloween candy just for myself..because Halloween candy…
    3) I dressed up as Little Red with the wolf’s head in her basket for a costume party back in my 20’s (and before it became a popular costume idea!). My mother had made the costume, including the wolf herself and I did my make-up, complete with bloody scratches
    4) I buy the Halloween themed tees and socks from Target every year and wear those, does that count? lol
    5) Yes! I really want to go on a haunted hayride, but it’s rained every year so we skip it
    6) Definitely vampires!
    7) If I could sew at all, I’d make my own…
    8) Freddie Krueger for sure! You can outrun Myers, but Krueger gets you in your dreams.
    9) Reeses PB cups, Peanut M&M’s, Snickers
    10) My husband is a Jehovah’s Witness, so no decorations. 🙁 I do put out some pumpkin and fall like decor though. 🙂
    11) The football jersey with the pillow sack “candy bag”..come on, at least try!
    12) Nope. Every year I was something different and my mom made all my costumes, so the creative sky was the limit! 🙂
    13) I believe in spirits – demonic and angelic, but I don’t believe in ghosts the way others do, if that makes sense. That being said,I do love a good ghost horror movie!
    14) Yes!!! I watch horror movies all year round! My hubs and I even have a little ritual where every Saturday night we pick a new scary movie to watch..we turn out the lights and light candles and sometimes I even come out from under the blanket to see what’s going on lol..jk kind of.
    15) Oooooo..caramel apples or brownies sounds perfect!
    16) I love to make a Halloween inspired dinner (or dessert), watch scary movies and gorge myself on bad for me candy and treats! 😛

    1. October 13, 2016 at 7:39 AM

yes! I love this! that Little Red costume sounds awesome! I LOVE the socks from Target’s dollar spot for all the seasons! Haunted hayrides are so fun – hope you don’t get rained out this year! and I’m really glad I’m not the only one who can’t sew lol. aww no Halloween decor?! 🙁 my boyfriend’s sister’s husband is a JW too. My nephews hate it because they never get to celebrate Halloween. thanks for sharing these, Sabrina 😀 I loved reading them!
