I’m really excited to share a guest post with you all today from my lovely blogger friend, Sabrina, from Chickweed & Blush. Sabrina is amazing, beautiful and she looks LITERALLY half her age!! She’s my new natural beauty blogger guru so you’d do well to follow her sound, priceless skin advice.
I hope you all enjoy her post & thanks Sabrina for guest posting ♥
First of all, I want to thank Tianna for letting me write a guest post on her lovely blog. She recently wrote a great guest post on mine and I was thrilled when she asked if I would write one for her. This is also my very first time writing a guest post, so I am extra excited!
I recently shared on my blog some of my anti-aging lifestyle tips, which you can read here. In addition to trying to live a life that promotes health and thus youthfulness, I’m always on the look out for products that will help to keep “Father Time” away for as long as possible as well, so I thought I would share a few of my favorite finds with you.
Since my skincare routine is constantly changing, I’ll give what I am currently doing/using. Everything I use addresses both acne (even at 42 I still have acne issues..sigh) and anti-aging.
Night time routine:
SkiNutritious Plant-Based Oil Cleanser – This is my favorite oil cleanser right now and one that is perfect for oily, acne prone skin like mine, but still has anti-aging benefits. I use this at night mostly as a make-up remover and pre-cleanser. It contains lavender essential oil, which helps to normalize oil production and jojoba oil, which helps to hydrate and balance the skin. It is also water soluble so it rinses clean, leaving no oily residue. $27.00 for 8oz
Eminence Clear Skin Probiotic Cleanser – After I use an oil cleanser, I like to use this cleanser not just to make sure all traces of my make-up were taken care of, but to also keep my skin from breaking out or to combat any break-outs I may already have. I love this cleanser because it contains both anti-aging and anti-acne ingredients such as cucumber juice, yogurt, almond milk, tea tree oil, as well as anti-oxidants to fight those pesky free radicals. $38.00 for 8.4oz
Eminence Organics Rosehip Tonique – I use this at night as it has rosehip juice, which hydrates the skin and is a potent source of vitamin C, and natural salicylic acid, which helps to slough off dead skin cells to prevent acne.
Sequoia Beauty Sun Damage Repair Serum – While I don’t have sun damaged skin, I do have acne scars and some hyper-pigmentation from acne and this serum has worked wonders on my skin (see my review here). It has incredible anti-acne and anti-aging benefits and my skin has never looked better. It also contains red raspberry seed oil, cranberry seed oil and carrot seed oil, all of which are natural sunscreens. This is probably my “holy grail” skin care product! $46.00 for 1oz
Sequoia Beauty Purity Face & Balm – I use this as an eye cream and also for any areas on my face that need extra hydration or healing. This contains shea butter and tamanu oil, both known for their skin regenerating properties and neroli and sandalwood which are both anti-aging and anti-acne. This is a very light, moisturizer that absorbs easily into the skin and doesn’t leave your face feeling greasy. See my review here. $28.00 for 2oz
Sequoia Beauty Honey Berry Enzyme Mask – I love to wash my face in the morning with raw honey, but this product has the additions of royal jelly, and raw strawberries and raw blueberries for even more skin healing benefits. I like to massage it in my skin and then leave it on for a few minutes before washing it off. My skin has been soft and break-out free since I started using this. See my review here. $30.00 for 2oz
Sequoia Beauty Firm & Tighten Toner – Even though this is supposed to be for dry or mature skin, my oily skin loves this just as much! It keeps my skin hydrated and oil-free due to ingredients like rose geranium and sandalwood. I also love that this product contains non-alcoholic witch hazel, so you get the skin tightening benefits without the drying effects of the alcohol in conventional witch hazel.. See my review here. $32.00 for 4oz
Sequoia Beauty Sun Damage Repair Serum – see in my night time routine above
Sequoia Beauty Purity Face & Balm – Again, I use this as my eye cream and also on my neck and decollete area, don’t want to ever neglect those areas!
Vapour Organic Beauty Stratus Instant Skin Perfector – This is my current foundation primer and of all the ones I have tried, I love this one the most. It does not contain any silicones or unhealthy ingredients, and it doesn’t break me out, which is a plus. You only need a very small amount too so this is a very cost effective product. You can also purchase samples to try to see if you like it before buying the full size. What’s also great about this is that it can be used as your moisturizer if you prefer not to use too many products. $44.00 for .56oz
Well, that’s my skincare routine. I will add that I use organic coconut oil as a body moisturizer and leave in hair conditioner. As for my make-up routine, it varies daily, but I always use natural or organic mineral, cream or liquid foundations. I’m sure my skincare routine will change again in the near future, as I am always looking for and trying new things.
Thank you again, Tianna, for letting me share this with your readers. And if any of you ever get time, please visit my blog at http://chickweedandblush.blogspot.com/
