Gorgeous Ways to Green Your Indoor Space

Over the past weekend, I watched The Last Witch Hunter with my boyfriend. The movie, itself, was pretty sub par, but I did have one major takeaway from it and it was that I MUST incorporate more green into my apartment! You see, one of the characters, Chloé, has this AMAZING set up in her apartment. It’s basically a room/wall divider with those little square shelves, but the entire unit is filled with plants! Not only that, but they lit the entire thing up with light bulbs which gave her entire apartment a beautiful green glow. Since seeing this, I’ve become totally obsessed with finding different ways to green your indoor space.

After all, plants can bring more oxygen into your home and neutralize toxins by cleaning and improving the air quality. Moreover, plants have been shown to uplift mood and can bring both aesthetic and practical uses to your home. For instance, you could specifically plant houseplants to clean the air or you could plant small herbs to be cut directly from the plant and used in a variety of recipes. Alternatively, bright green plants and other colors will brighten up any space, from the dining and kitchen areas to your bed, bath or living room. They just look so pretty! So, I thought I would share a few fun ideas for how you can incorporate more plants into your life and your home.

Simply Bring In More Plants and Place Them Around Your Space.

This is the easiest of ideas! All you have to do is go pick out some plants that you like and bring them into your home. My advice is to pick house plants because they will help clean the air in your home, but it’s your place so do what you like. Just make sure you don’t pick any of these poisonous plants. That’s all I ask. Even putting 1-2 plants in every major room in your home can have a profound difference in how you feel, the air quality you breathe, and how welcoming and bright your space feels.

Start A Functional Herb Garden.

For anyone who enjoys cooking, baking, or cocktails, starting an herb garden might be a good option. You can choose your favorite herbs to cook with, sweet edible flowers and herbs for pastries, or some lovely herbs for cocktails like mint, rosemary, and basil.

Office Wireframe Plant Partitions.

If you’re looking to brighten up your office space, this gorgeous Australian office has you covered! They’ve used wire frames and long vine plants to keep the space fresh, open, bright and green. Alternatively, you could use room wire room dividers and drape them with vines or other plants as well.

Create A Room Divider with Natural Plant Walls.

This idea is my personal favorite. Room dividers are cool, as is, but with plants? They take on a whole new life! Not only can you divide your space, but the divider itself becomes functional. You can utilize entire green plant walls or use your own shelving unit and mix in books and other decor with your plants for a personalized divider that looks bright, pretty and fresh.

Plant Wall Air Purifiers with NatureVention.

These brilliant plant walls are self-sustaining once they’re set up in your home or office and they look beautiful! I really love how they help clean the air and improve your overall health. It’s such a brilliant initiative.

I have to admit that picture of the metal frame makes me think the plants are trying to take over, crawling slowly towards people haha
It’s funny because while I can grow a huge veggies patch (fingers crossed it wasn’t a 2 years fluke!) I really struggle to keep indoor plants alive. I think it has to do with the Scotsman’s obsession with closing the blinds all the time 😉

haha I didn’t think that could be turned into something scary, but now I see it lol. Glad you’re so good at growing veggies – I totally struggle with it! I can keep my indoor plants alive though lol. guess that’s the trade off 😀

I know what you mean! I killed all of my plants for so long haha. Try spider plants or aloe. Those are pretty easy to keep alive! ♥
