10 Green Beauty Picks for Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day

I think one of the best ways to celebrate Earth Day is by going green. Whether that means purchasing an adorable bkr bottle in place of your usual mountain of plastic water bottles, using more eco friendly cleaners, or doing a complete overhaul of your entire beauty routine – every little bit helps and makes a bigger difference than you would think. The first way that I green-ified my life was with my beauty routine. I still struggle with it, but my routine is a lot more green than it used to be.

Since then, I’ve overhauled my kitchen and bathroom to include all green cleaning supplies, I often DIY my own body products and cleaning solutions, and I do my best to recycle, re-use, and re-purpose anything I can from old glass jars of peanut butter (they’re great for smoothies and mason jar type lunches or soups) to recycling bottles and cans and re-using any plastic bags. So, in an effort to inspire those of you who have yet to go green in beauty, I’m sharing 10 amazing green beauty picks that are not only luxurious and effective, but also gorgeously green.

10 Green Beauty Picks for Earth Day!

Alima Pure Satin Matte Foundation

Alima Pure is a fantastic brand for mineral makeup. They have a wide range of foundation shades as well as a line of blushes, bronzers, eye shadows, and even a mineral based mascara. This has been my go-to powder foundation since I discovered them 2 years ago. Their foundation offers light to full coverage, depending on how you apply it, and then formula looks super natural as far as powder finishes go. Also, I love that they are made locally in the USA – making their carbon footprint much smaller than mass-produced brands – and without harmful ingredients like bismuth oxychloride or nanoparticles. { Review Here! }

May Lindstrom The Blue Cocoon Beauty Balm

May Lindstrom is, hands down, one of my favorite green beauty brands. Her products are not only phenomenal, but truly luxurious and beautiful from the inside out. They work very well, utilizing the best of what nature has to offer, and they come packaged in the most beautiful luxe glass containers. Best of all, they are hand crafted locally in small batches with organic and wild crafted ingredients so you are getting a beautiful product without all the guilt. This Blue Cocoon Balm is a newer product of hers and it works to help keep skin hydrated, calm, clear and beautiful. It’s a new favorite of mine. { Review Here! }

RMS Beauty Cream Eye Shadow in Solar

RMS Beauty has some of the most beautifully made organic cosmetics out there. Not only are they beautiful in their little glass jars, but they work incredibly well. Simply crafted with organic ingredients, they are made without harmful ingredients and their glass jars make them a greener option. This cream eye shadow in Solar is SO beautiful! I’ve been testing out both Lunar & Solar and they are both fantastic for giving eyes a pick-me-up. Lunar is great for subtle brightening in the corner of eyes, cupid’s bow, and around the brow area. Solar is beautiful on the lids or as a subtle soft bronze on the cheeks. I also own their Un-Cover Up which is lovely as well ( review here ). Reviews coming soon for these eye shadows!

Kure Bazaar Nail Polish in Khaki

If you’ve been following along for awhile, you may know about my love affair with Kure Bazaar, but if not they are a beautiful non-toxic nail polish brand that is made in France. They make beautiful, fashion-forward colors in lovely little glass bottles without any of the harmful ingredients making them better for both you and the environment.They are made up of 85% natural origin from plants, free of petrochemicals, and 4-FREE! Plus, all of their colors are beautiful, glossy, fast-drying, and long lasting. This lovely forest green, Khaki, is perfect for Earth Day, don’t you think? I own a number of these including Frenchie, Smokey, & Lychee. { Review Here! }

Suti Purity Organic Balm

Suti is another favorite beauty brand of mine. Crafted in the UK, these simple skincare formulas have a certain magic to them. They are all certified organic and the formula is simple you think you’d be able to make it yourself, but trust me when I say the results are never the same! I’ve praised their Cleanse Organic Balm TONS here on the blog, but I’m a fan of all their products and this is a second favorite. It’s super multi-tasking in it’s ability to hydrate skin (face, body, etc.), calm breakouts, protect from free radical damage, and even works well as an overnight mask treatment if your skin is especially parched. It’s super simple, eco-friendly, and gluten-free formula make this one a beautiful choice for those who want a moisturizer that has all the flair of a face oil, face balm and overall moisturizer in one. { Review Here! }

ILIA Beauty Tinted Lip Conditioner in Dizzy

I’m such a huge fan of ILIA Lip products! Formulated with all natural and organic ingredients, they come in beautiful packaging and a wide variety of colors that will suit anyone. I’m lusting after this lovely lip color, Dizzy, at the moment as it’s a beautiful soft orange color for spring, though all of them are lovely. I own a number of colors including my favorites Blossom Lady & Shell Shock as well as their Multi-Stick in I Put A Spell On You. { Review Here! }

Lina Hanson Global Body Serum

I had the amazing luck of being able to try out both the Global Body Serum & the Global Face Serum before they were released and both are amazing. The Global Face Serum is a bit more herbal and floral while the Global Body Serum is sweeter and has lovely vanilla, grapefuit and yuzu for a totally uniquely sweet scent. I’m more partial to the body serum simply for it’s scent, but both face & body serums are great and their formulas are all natural, organic and sustainable plant-derived from ingredients all over the world. { Review Here & Here! }

Waxelene All Natural Petroleum Jelly Alternative

A fantastic natural alternative to conventional petroleum oil, Waxelene is made with simple all natural and organic ingredients here in the USA. I love this balm for dry skin, chapped lips, redness, cuts, scrapes, bruises, burns, and even healing ingrown hairs and acne spots. I love having this in my bathroom cabinet for anything and everything. { Review Here! }

Konjac Sponge – Pink French Clay

Aside from my beloved Clarisonic, I truly LOVE using konjac sponges and I thought they were all pretty much created equal, but to be honest, they are NOT. I have tried a few other brands and this one is consistently my favorite. This one is super soft, gently exfoliating, and really helps keep my skin clear, soft and beautiful. Also, it’s entirely biodegradable and made from the konjac plant, a natural sea vegetable that’s similar to the potato. This one includes french pink clay which helps to calm redness and irritation in reactive skin so it’s perfect for all skin types, including sensitive. My personal favorite is the original konjac sponge, but all of them are lovely and can suit any skin type. All sponges are biodegradable, gluten free, cruelty free, vegan, sustainable, and 100% natural. { Review Here! }

Intelligent Nutrients Harmonic Hair Duo

This last of the bunch is one brand I haven’t actually tried yet, but I’ve been so utterly obsessed with their products ( nearly all have made my wish list! ) that I couldn’t NOT mention them. They have a huge lineup of hair and skincare products, all of which are natural and organically formulated. This particular duo is gluten free and vegan as well and includes a potent antioxidant blend to hydrate, soften, and cleanse hair naturally. Both in the duo are color-safe, lightweight and non-toxic. All products are made in the USA.

I wish you all a lovely Earth Day and I hope you try some of these wonderful green beauty picks!
