FOTD: Everyday Natural Makeup Look ♥

 I try to avoid splattering selfies across my blog too often just because I don’t want to become super self absorbed or a meme immortalized, but I really liked this makeup look I did recently because it’s really simple and it looks so natural, it almost looks like I’m not wearing any makeup.

My First Ever FOTD ♥

Everyday Natural Makeup Look

I’m not a person who wears makeup everyday, but when I do, I normally try to keep it natural most days unless it’s a holiday, special occasion or Halloween where I get a little more creative and colorful. So basically on regular days, if I do my makeup, I try to make it look like I am not wearing makeup or make it as subtle as possible. On this particular day, I just feel like it came out really nice so I wanted to share the products I used to get this simple everyday natural makeup look 🙂

{ Face Primer }

For primer, I’ve been using the incredible No.28 Primer + Serum by Hourglass. I’ve been pretty obsessed with this stuff. I first purchased a small sample of it at Sephora and bought the full size a few days later because it’s that good. It just seals in my moisturizer and makes foundation go on like a silk dream. See my review – HERE.

{ Foundation }

I’ve been really obsessed with the Hourglass Veil Fluid Foundation in Porcelain 0 shade which has replaced my NARS Sheer Glow (L4) and RMS Un-Cover Up (011). I still use the other 2 occasionally, but the Hourglass trumps them in terms of perfect finish, dewy glow that’s subtle and satiny, and just keeps my skin looking hydrated all day long. Also, the Un-Cover Up is more of a sheer coverage for light days and my NARS Sheer Glow is too dark on me at the moment as I purchased it in summer. See my review for the Hourglass Veil Fluid – HERE.

{ Contour }

For contour, my HG is Illamasqua’s Cream Pigment in Hollow. If you’re pale like I am, this is the perfect shade to create shadows on your face that won’t make you look dirty, overly bronze tan or orange. It works flawlessly with very little effort. A lot of makeup artists have told me that cream is more difficult to use than powder, but I personally found this super easy to use with my foundation. No idea how it would work with powder as I haven’t tried that, but for my needs, it’s amazing. See my review – HERE.

{ Blush }

I use a variety of blushes from MAC, Alima Pure & Rimmel London, depending on the day, but my current favorite for winter makeup seems to be Rimmel’s Blush in Antique Rose. It’s just really subtle, not too noticeable, and beautiful. It just looks really pretty on the skin! I don’t have a review for this one, but I’ve been using it for ages (like years) so maybe I should?

{ Brows }

For my brows, I use a matte brown from the Becca Balearic Love Palette. It’s the perfect dark brown shade for my nearly black eyebrows. I use an angled brow brush from EcoTools, but any angled brush works fine. For winter, I’ve been really into thick straight ish brows. The palette was discontinued, but you can get it at ACW at a discounted price – here.

{ Mascara }

I was previously obsessed with the Diorshow Extase Mascara, but it has recently been dethroned by Covergirl’s Flamed Out Mascara which gives similar, if not better results for less than half the price. It’s the best – volume, curl, length, thickness, fullness, and a dark pigment that makes lashes look intense without looking fake. See my comparison of the 2 mascaras & review – Here.

{ Highlighter }

For highlighting my brow bone, inner corners, and nose, I use Makeup Forever Eye Shadow in N101 which is a champagne gold color. I received it a year or so ago in a giveaway I entered and it’s something I never would’ve picked out myself, but that I find myself using all the time because it’s the prettiest golden champagne color without being overly shimmery or glittery. You can see my original post on the giveaway items – Here.

{ Lips }

For lips, I’ve mostly been rocking statement berry or purple lips, but I try to keep things toned down if I’m going for a more natural look and for that, OCC Lip Tar in Memento is perfect. It’s a pink mauve shade that has a nude feel to it because it looks pretty, yet not too over the top. The OCC Lip Tars are great – you need a few dots of pigment for your entire lip area to be fully covered and once it dries, it lasts a good few hours before fading a bit, but still maintains the color and doesn’t give you that “lip liner” look.

You know, where it fades everywhere but the outline of your lips so you look like you’re wearing lip liner. Yeah. This doesn’t do that. You can pick up Memento for $18 in the full size, but I recommend picking up this OCC Lip Tar Mini Set for $20 as it has more value. EDIT: This one is no longer available, but you can get the larger set of OCC Lip Tar Minis for $58 at Sephora! These will last you ages, even in the smaller sizes, even if you use them constantly. EDIT: I’ve now posted a review for the OCC Lip Tars – See it HERE.
