There’s a question I love asking people a lot because it combines my love for TV, movies, and books with my interest of people and the question is this: Which fictional characters do you identify with most? This question actually gives a lot of insight into people because it #1 tells you what kind of books, TV & movies that person likes and #2 it tells you how they perceive themselves and their character. Also, it’s just kind of a fun conversation starter. I’m always amused and fascinated by the answers people give. On the flip side, another question that’s fun to ask is what fictional characters do you think I’m most like? This will yield entirely different answers, as well, and will also give you insight into how your friends and family perceive you. I thought it would be fun to share my answers to this question and also the ones I get people telling me I’m most like ♥
Fictional Characters I Identify With the Most:
Kenzie from Lost Girl – I identify with Kenzi because she’s really quirky, funny, and even though she puts on a tough exterior, she has a big heart for the people she cares about. Also, she shares my love for cute shoes…
Eliabeth Bennet from Pride & Prejudice – This is a bit old fashioned, but I love Pride & Prejudice and I always felt that Elizabeth was the one I related to most. She has such a spunky personality, an attitude, and an unwillingness to settle. I definitely think (and I know my friends would agree) that we share the same kind of stubbornness.
Clementine from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind – Clementine is a really troubled, quirky woman. She has such a raw, realness and vulnerability to her that I relate to very deeply. Moreover, she has an obsession with coloring her hair.
Kat from 10 Things I Hate About You – Kat is a character that I definitely relate to for her attitude and anti-conformity, anti-establishment ways. Also, in high school, a lot of people would consistently tell me I was a bitch because I was pretty forthcoming with my opinion and didn’t want to fake it to be popular. So, there’s that.
Lisbeth from the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo – While I’m not a computer hacker, I am incredibly stubborn when I have my mind set on something and I hate bullies. As someone who was thoroughly bullied in school, I find it’s a bit of a trigger for me.
Tally from Uglies (book series by Scott Westerfeld) – Tally is a rebellious spirit who ends up, unintentionally, defying her government. I don’t want to give too much away because this is a great book series, but she’s someone who sort of falls into a situation rather than choosing it. She’s trying to find out what she wants in life and it turns out it’s not in line with what society wants her to do. I definitely relate to that a lot.
Fictional Characters People think I’m Most Like:
Katniss from the Hunger Games – My boyfriend’s cousin always compares me to Katniss, though I’m not sure why. She said it’s because she thinks I’m ballsy and brave, but I really don’t see it. I’m just doing me.
Alex from Modern Family – My boyfriend thinks I’m a lot like Alex from Modern Family because I’m smart and I have a hard time relating to my own family. Gee, thanks.
It’s so true.
Tris from Divergent (the book not the movie) – Tris is a character who wants to strike out on her own and live her own life, despite what others might want for her or expect from her. She kind of defies the status quo in that way and I think that’s why friends compare me to her.
Hermione from Harry Potter – I personally think I was more like Hermione when I was younger (bratty know-it-all, the usual), but some people do compare me to her, even now. It’s probably because I’m smart, passionate, and I tend to be pretty vocal about my opinions.
So, there you have it! I’d love to hear your answers to these questions – I find them so much fun to read people’s answers 🙂
