Fall Makeup Trends 2015

As NYFW 2015 kicks off, we’ve been bombarded with TONS of fall fashion trends, but what about fall makeup trends? There are tons of fun fall makeup trends to look forward to so I thought I’d share a few of my favorites!

Fall Makeup Trends 2015

Red lips in any hue, from light to dark, are on point this fall with bright reds and deep wine reds making their way into tons of NYFW runway shows this year. I used NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Transylvania + Karen Murrell Lipstick in Poppy Passion and Lavender Laughter. You can get a similar look by mixing NYX Transylvania and any of their red lip colors.

You can achieve a diffused smokey eye look, very easily, by using your choice of eyeliner pencil on your eyes and then using a blending brush or your fingers to smudge it. I like to use black, brown, purple, blue and even grey to do this. MAC Eye Kohl is awesome for longevity, but a cleaner option that still has tons of pigmentation is the Living Nature Eye Pencil.

Whether you go for deep burgundy colors, purples, blues, or even black, matte is where it’s at (unintentional rhyming). Pair matte lips with glossy eye makeup or cat eyes for a gorgeous fall look that’s easy to achieve at home. My favorite dark lip colors are NYX Transylvania, Nudus in Revenge and Dirty Diana, and a new favorite is the one shown below in Zuzu Luxe Cosmetics in Rapture.

Glossy eye looks can be achieved with lip +cheek stain colors or eye shadow sticks and creams, but make sure you smudge them out so the look is soft. They look great paired with bold matte lips which creates a balance of different textures. You want to stick to subtle eyes + bold lips to maintain balance.

Gold eye shadows, metallic eye shadows, bronze eye looks, and even full-on glitter and sequin eye makeup are in this season. Glam, fun and dramatic eye makeup in these colors is perfect for the season, especially around the holidays, and you can find gorgeous hues to flatter every skin tone. My bronzed eye makeup look below was created using my favorite eye shadows from Alima Pure in Coffee Frappe (LE – no longer available), but you can get a similar result using their eye shadow in Cappuccino (I got mine as part of their Day to Night Set) and any gold or champagne colored eye shadow on your inner corners.

This season, bold brows are in in a big way. Classic, feathered, bold brows are in for everyday looks and funky colored eyebrows in blue, lavender, and other crazy colors are also in.

The “just flushed” from the cold weather blush looks are in for the fall season and they’re easily achieved by #1 going out into the cold ass wind or #2 applying a subtle blush to your cheeks! For powder, I am obsessed with the Hourglass Ambient Blushes in any color (especially Mood Exposure!) and for cream, I love the ILIA Multisticks (my favorite is I Put A Spell On You).

Tons of crazy eyeliner looks are in this fall season including funky cat eyeliner, geometric eyeliner patterns, and tons of other amazing eyeliner designs which I will probably fail at, but look amazing on the runway models!

I don’t branch out much when it comes to makeup, but I’m thinking that dark matte lip needs to be tried…I’m loving it!

thanks Shannon! Glad you like the lip color 🙂 It really is so pretty and ideal for fall looks, IMO. I was surprised how much I like it bc it doesn’t look like it’d be that great just looking at it in the tube, but it’s stunning.

You have a great skin tone because every color you tried looked good on you. I think I’ll have to go try some of the matte lipstick. Time to go shopping. 🙂

wow thank you so much! My skin looks great these days, but it’s a dedication to skincare, natural makeup and a determination to not pick at my face haha. Honestly, I really think these colors could look amazing on anyone, though. Fall colors are so wearable for anyone; it’s just a matter of finding the right tint of that color for your skin tone and hair color 🙂 Hope you find some awesome new makeup for fall! Thanks for stopping by ♥

Thanks for sharing! I need all the makeup help I can get, as I haven’t really changed my makeup style or colors at all since having my first kid. I just always feel so rushed when getting ready that it doesn’t even occur to me to try something new. I think I could easily move into the bronze/gold/metallic eye, though. That seems doable. — Amy @ http://thegiftedgabber.com/
