* I was kindly sent a gorgeous hair oil treatment for review from Kumari Luxury.

The Kumari Luxury Story

The lovely founder of Kumari Luxury, Aarti, often shared a unique beauty ritual with her mother growing up. Her mother would take time out, once a week, from her busy schedule and massage natural Ayurvedic oils from India to her hair and scalp. It is this lovely memory which she held near and dear and which then led to the inspiration for her line of lovely natural and organic beauty products. You can watch a wonderful video on this story and the inspiration behind the line here.

Kumari Luxury Hair Oil Treatment Review

This gorgeous hair oil treatment is a unique one because of it’s application method and the precious formula which actually does assist in improving the condition of your hair. The base of plant oils including coconut and argan oils assist with shine and scalp nourishment while also taming frizz and flyaway hairs. The botanical blend includes turmeric, saffron, sandalwood, and licorice which all work to heal and strengthen hair from the inside out, helping to reduce breakage and hair fall over time.

The scent of this oil is pleasantly herbal and woodsy, though surprisingly subtle. It’s hardly noticeable until it’s right up near your nose, to be honest, and I kind of like that about it. It’s very easy to use once you know how and taking time out to massage this oil into my hair and scalp was really therapeutic and relaxing! I love that this oil is both nourishing and light. I’ve been using it a little over a month now and I love the results! I experience a lot less hair fallout than previously (which was a problem for me before) and I love how bouncy and full of life and shine my hair is after using this. The oil is fairly easy to rinse out of my hair and doesn’t leave a greasy or oily residue at all. My hair also has a lot less frizz when I use this which I love because frizz is basically the bane of my existence!

How to Apply: I recommend checking out their FAQ on this as I found the visuals in the video really helpful, but basically you apply this directly to your scalp using the handy dropper. I applied it to my scalp in the 3 main parts of my hair – center, left side, and then the right side. After that, I took about 5 drops into my palms and massaged that along the length of my hair. Lastly, I took 5 more drops and massaged them into my ends. After applying the oil to my hair, I put my hair in a top knot style bun and left it in for 30 minutes before showering. Once in the shower, I first rinsed out with just water and then shampoo my hair, rinse, and condition and rinse. If you have thicker hair, you might need more oil and you may need to shampoo twice to remove, but since I have fine-medium textured hair, this worked well for me.

I highly recommend checking out their Hair Oil FAQ for information on how to get the most out of this treatment as I found it to be really helpful!

Overall, I’m very impressed with Kumari Luxury! I love that the blend is aromatic, but still subtly scented with plant oils and extracts. I love that the products utilize ayurvedic herbs in the formula which I’ve found work really well for any kind of beauty treatment, especially turmeric which is a big love of mine! Also, this hair treatment was both nourishing and light which made it helpful to heal and nourish my frequently itchy scalp and also increase shine, fight frizz, decrease fallout, and also put bounce and health back in my hair without making it oily or weighed down with product. Also, unlike other hair oils and treatments I’ve previously tried, this one is surprisingly easy to rinse out of my hair which I love.
