 { The Christmas Tag 2014 }

  1. What is your favorite holiday film? When I was a kid, I was obsessed with Miracle on 34th Street, but now that I’m older, probably Narnia: Lion, Witch & the Wardrobe just because it was a favorite book of mine growing up and it always reminds me of the holidays. To be honest, I really enjoy films that aren’t about Christmas, but that have snow in them. Is that weird? I enjoy films like The Jacket which sounds morbid, but hey, it’s a great film LOL.
  2. What is your favorite holiday song? I have to be honest here and say that I mostly hate holiday music. I think it’s because I loved it a LOT when I was younger and burnt myself out a bit. I do like classical instrumental holiday music or choral hymns and I like rat pack holiday music. One holiday song I will always love is Carol the Bells. I was in choir in high school and college which is typically done in rounds and is seriously a blast to sing.
  3. Where do you spend the holidays? When I was younger, I spent Christmas Eve with my mom and Christmas Day with my dad which I hated. It’s horrible to travel so much during the holidays. Now that I’m older, I spend it with my boyfriend’s family during Christmas Eve and sometimes Christmas Day with my mom.
  4. Do you open presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? When I was younger, it was almost always Christmas morning, but my boyfriend’s family always do Christmas Eve at midnight.
  5. What is your favorite holiday tradition? My favorite holiday tradition is probably the fact that my boyfriend insists on getting a real tree. Every year, I always give him crap about the environment and how we could get a fake one that lights up, is spun in glitter or spins and he’s so indignant about the real tree thing, but truth is I love it. I love the pine scent in our house and how festive it looks.
  6. Is your tree real or fake? Real 🙂 My mom has a really cool fake one that spins and lights up different colors haha. It’s pretty cool too.
  7. What is your favorite holiday food or treat? My favorite holiday food is my mom’s homemade stuffing. I’m not much for holiday desserts or anything and I really don’t like turkey either. I enjoy my boyfriend’s mom’s tamales, though.
  8. What’s better: giving or receiving gifts? I always enjoy giving gifts more than receiving. I’m the kind of person who tries to figure people out and see what I think would be the perfect gift for them. It’s a fun game trying to put a nice, thoughtful gift together for people.
  9. What is the best gift you’ve ever received? Last year, my boyfriend had this box handmade for me with a storybook theme 🙂 That was pretty awesome.
  10. What is the worst gift you’ve ever received? A pill box from my dad when I was 15 LOL. Weirdest gift ever.
  11. What’s your dream location to spend Christmas? I’ve never been to New York and it looks like a lovely place to spend the holidays so probably New York, Paris, or London!
  12. Do you love/hate wrapping gifts? I enjoy it when I have the time to do it, but when I don’t have time, I hate rushing through it haha.
  13. What is your favorite holiday memory? My favorite holiday memory is spending the evening with my boyfriend and our 2 best friends. We opened gifts and then we played this game called King’s Cup which is a really fun drinking game. It’s just so much fun when we can all get together to talk, laugh and really enjoy the company.
  14. What’s your favorite part about the holidays? My favorite part is probably all the lights and the weather. I love the cold nights, especially the rainy ones, and I really enjoy seeing all the pretty lights in everyone’s yard.
  15. Do you make New Year’s Resolutions? If yes, do you tend to stick to them or abandon them come February? I usually make goals for the year, rather than new year’s resolutions, though I guess it’s sort of the same thing. I like to think I stick to them, for the most part. Obviously, I’m still human and I’m not perfect, but I keep my goals in mind all year long and beyond until I’ve achieved them haha.

The handmade box sound super creative and a great gift! And my favorite part about the holidays is seeing all the lights too. It’s such a festive time of the year. Best wished to you for 2015!

I love getting a real Christmas tree! That smell just puts me in the Christmas spirit. Growing up I also had to do separate days with my mom and my dad and it was hard. But now that I’m grown and my parents live far away, I miss those days.

me too! I really love picking out the tree and the smell it gives my house. Yeah I definitely understand that. I don’t think I miss it much haha. It is weird to spend the holidays in one place now though. thanks for stopping by ♥

I.Love.Narnia. I love the book, I love the film, love every tiny bit of it. <3 I've stopped making New Year resolutions too since I obviously can't stick to them. So instead I make goals for the year. I find them much better. Have a lovely Christmas, Tianna. 🙂

I’m a fake treer all the way but mainly due to allergies. I like the ease of putting up the tree with a pre lit one! But I agree with you on the awesome scent of pine 🙂
