I’m really excited to share a new green beauty brand – Kypris Beauty – with you all today that is truly made with love.

I know it sounds kind of cheesy or maybe even insincere given that the first ingredient listed on their products is always love, but I honestly kind of believe it now. For one thing, their founder is lovely and kind and manages to sound completely sincere, even via email. For another, their brand is even named after the beloved goddess Aphrodite (the goddess of love, if you didn’t know) who was given the name Kypris by those who, according to legend, first worshiped her on the island of Cypris when she rose out of the sea. Like their namesake, their products are formulated with love (first) as well as gentle, healing ingredients that are super effective on skin.

According to Kypris Beauty…

“KYPRIS is a luxurious line of holistic, high performance skin care boasting organic, wild-crafted, and sustainably grown ingredients for gorgeous results and Beauty-Full experiences.”

Their very appropriate tagline is “Beauty with a soul, Supported by science.”

I was really lucky to be able to review a few samples of their items recently and I’m so enamored (get it!) with this brand!

The first product I was able to try out was their Moonlight Catalyst Serum.

It’s one of the more unique serums I’ve come across because it’s formula works much like a vitamin A/ retinol type serum, but it uses all natural ingredients to do so. It gentle exfoliates and refines skin without irritating it or causing any peeling, thinning of the skin, or redness.

The formula includes 16 natural active ingredients such as fermented pumpkin enzymes to gently exfoliate skin, Hawaiian sea algae to hydrate and balance skin, and supercritical extractions of rose hip and sea buckthorn oils rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids (skin building blocks) for hydration, healing, and protection of the skin. It also utilizes an ingredient I’d never heard of until now: Xylitylglucosides. Apparently, they are the hydrating precursors to your skin’s natural creation of hyaluronic acid and work to help your skin in creating it’s own source of hyaluronic acid – what?! So, basically this serum will help my skin look more youthful and hydrated by helping it to create a more readily accepted by your skin source of hyaluronic acid. I was SO excited to try this after reading that!

It’s strictly a night serum and should be used alone to avoid over-exfoliation. You apply 2 droppers full of serum to your face and neck/decolleté area after the sun sets and before bed.

Some effects I’ve noticed from using this serum are that my skin looks softer, more youthful and even toned, and, dare I say it, even a little glowing the mornings after I use this! I love that it utilizes fermented pumpkin enzymes, a natural form of vitamin a (aka retinol), to treat the skin and gently exfoliate and rejuvenate cells. I’ve used retinol serums and creams in the past and many of them are either 1. really irritating to the skin or 2. have no effect at all.

Not only that, but your skin can adjust to retinol to the point where it won’t be effective on your skin anymore whereas pumpkin enzymes are a natural ingredient and will be more readily accepted and effective on your skin without any of those side effects.

Also included are supercritical plant oils to hydrate, moisturize and rebuild the skin and I’ve found that they leave my skin feeling hydrated and clearer. I really cannot recommend this serum enough, especially to anyone who is dealing with breakouts, fine lines, uneven skin tone, or dullness. Kypris says this serum is meant for those with “Environmentally stressed, experienced, or imbalanced complexions” and I think that’s appropriate for this.

It works seriously well!

Just a quick mention, I wanted to also share that I got to try a small sample of the Antioxidant Dew Serum and I was so impressed!

Despite being a really small sample, it was deeply hydrating and lovely to use. It wasn’t oily at all; in fact, it feels kind of like a gel type serum and is very refreshing on the skin. I think those with especially irritated, dehydrated, parched, or even damaged skin could really benefit from using this as a moisturizer or in conjunction with a moisturizer. It’s good stuff! This product offers up 24 natural active ingredients including phospholipid encapsulated antioxidants and super oxide dismutase which, apparently, are ideal for helping your skin absorb ingredients and help destroy free radicals such as pollution, smoking and overexposure to the elements (like sun damage!).

Needless to say, I was seriously bummed when this serum ran out.

Ingredients: Love, water/aqua, algae extract, glycerin, Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice, Prunus armeniaca (apricot) kernel oil, oat beta glucan, squalane, sodium hyaluronate, sodium PCA, wheat amino acids, Symphytum officinale (comfrey) extract, panthenol, hydroxyproline, Rosa damascena (rose) flower water, Butyrospermum parkii (shea) nut butter, phospholipids, superoxide dismutase, Borago officinalis (borage) seed oil, retinyl palmitate, tocopheryl acetate, ascorbyl palmitate, Calophyllum inophyllum (foraha) nut oil, Urtica dioica (nettle) leaf extract, Rosa centifolia (rose) flower extract, Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, Helianthus annuus(sunflower) seed oil, undecylenoyl glycine, Triticum vulgare (wheat germ) oil, lecithin, capryloyl glycine, xanthan gum, Lonicera caprifolium (honeysuckle) flower extract, Lonicera japonica (honeysuckle) flower extract

Last of all, I wanted to mention that their 1,000 Roses Beauty Elixir I has officially made my wish list!

I had a tiny sample of it included with these, but it spilled before I could use it 🙁 so all I could do was smell it’s intoxicating scent! Sadness. Anyhow, it looks lovely as well, especially if you’re obsessed with rose scented skincare like me.
