The Perfect Autumn Makeup + Nails!
Like anything good that’s ever been discovered, it all started with a crap ton of caffeine and ended in the perfect autumn makeup and super cute nails 😉
My boyfriend went out with his BFF for Halloween Horror Nights which meant that I would have some nice time alone. I actually tried to make plans with literally anyone and everyone because I didn’t want to be stuck at home while he went out, but of course, nobody was available.
I’m like a mad scientist when I drink coffee…
My roomie and I went out to Ulta where I picked up the most incredible lip color EVER. Enter Transylvania – a soft matte lip cream by Nyx Cosmetics. Obviously, with a beautiful deep burgundy color, a velvety matte finish, and a cool Halloween-y name like Transylvania, I HAD to have it!
On the way back from Ulta, we promptly drove through the nearest Starbucks. I got my go-to toffee nut soy latté with an extra shot of espresso and thought little of the fact that she repeated my order back to me as “toffee nut soy latté with a double” which apparently means 4 shots. 4 SHOTS of espresso in my TALL latté. Holy crap. So much caffeine.
We get home, my roomie goes to bed and I am WIRED. Like I literally cannot stop twitching. I’m running back and forth between rooms like a complete lunatic. When I finally get a moment to sit still, it’s only to accidentally come up with the perfect autumn makeup look which, frankly, I’m surprised turned out so well. Isn’t that always how it is when you’ve got nowhere to go?
The lowdown on this makeup look:
It’s super EASY. I used a combination of shimmery brown colors from Alima Pure including Fleur a creamy light beige color (as a base all over the lid and to highlight brow bone), Minaudiere (not sure how it’s spelled), Milkshake (all over lid), and Coffee Frappé (ironicially) which was the main color I used in the crease and to line my eyes with.
I used the Arch Brow Pencil from Hourglass on my brows, MAC Studio Sculpt Mascara (only on top lashes), Alima Pure Satin Matte Foundation Powder in Neutral 2, Alima Pure Sombra Contour Powder to contour my cheeks, and a mixture of the Nyx Transylvania + Karen Murrell‘s Lavender Laughter and Poppy Passion.

This is my dramatic face, if you can’t already tell. I was pretty bored at home so I had loads of time to take weird photos of myself without being bothered haha. I really have no idea why I haven’t written about Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams as there are a TON of colors in the lineup and I seriously do love them. This is probably my favorite color, but I also love London (nude) and Amsterdam (pretty muted pink color).
Pretty Autumn Nails
On another note, I also had time this weekend to paint my nails with some lovely new colors from Kure Bazaar! If you’ve been following, you’ll know Kure Bazaar are my favorite non-toxic nail polishes so I had to use them immediately. They’re too perfect for the fall/autumn and winter months so I HAD to share them. Plus, my nails came out really nice for once so I couldn’t pass up the chance to show you how my skills have marginally improved.
The main color is Mademoiselle K (a beautiful deep raspberry red). It looks a lot brighter in the photo than it is, I think. It’s more of a deep bright red than a super bright party red, if that makes sense. Then I also used Platinum, a shimmery silver color on my ring finger. I used Butter London’s Union Jack Black underneath Platinum thinking it would show through, but Platinum is a lot more opaque than I thought it would be so the black didn’t show up at all.
Overall, I think these are pretty perfect for everyday fall/autumn beauty looks.
