It’s that time of year when it’s not quite summer, but it’s certainly starting to feel like it here in Cali. Oddly enough, it’s cloudy today, but literally everyday last week was in the mid 80’s to 90’s and it was seriously hot all last weekend. So despite the weather happening at the moment, I’m ready for the beach! Actually, to be truthful, I’m always ready for the beach. Growing up and living in Cali has done that to me LOL. Since I’m all beach dreamy at the moment, I thought it would be fun to share some cute swimwear for this summer and some fun places you can visit which all have something lovely in common – they all have wonderful beaches!
Hawaii is such a beautiful place. I’ve been very lucky to have visited Maui, Honolulu, and Waikiki before and all of them were amazing. The water is seriously cozy lukewarm temperatures and the weather is great. There is so much to do on each island, everyone is super nice and friendly, the food is wonderful (lots of sushi and yummy Japanese influenced cuisine as well as Hawaiian dishes), and the environment is very laid back and relaxed.
As you know, I was born and raised in California and I have traveled up and down what we call PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) which basically goes along the entire coastline and includes many beaches. There are a ton of beaches, believe me, but in my opinion, the best ones in Cali are in Malibu, San Clemente, San Diego, Laguna, and Newport. My favorite is San Clemente, but that’s because it’s close to my heart and you can see an entire guide of things to do and see there in this travel guide I did. Other second favorites include Laguna and Newport. Laguna is super nice, but very touristy thanks to the OC TV show and, if I’m honest, chock-full of snobs. Not to say everyone is a snob, but there are a lot of snobby people to be found there despite the beautiful beach and wonderful shopping and food. Newport is a second favorite of mine as it’s both beautiful, has great shopping at the nearby Fashion Island, a fish market on certain days, and there are some really fun places to eat and go dancing at right on their little boardwalk including a delightful gelato place.
Sadly, I’ve never been to Georgia, but I’ve seen it in nearly every Nicholas Sparks fillm adaptation so I think that makes me pretty qualified to talk about it. No, but seriously, these beaches look amazing and they have a certain quaintness and country vibe to them that other beaches don’t really have. Not only that, but they blend the lovely lush green forest of Georgia with beautiful beaches.
Another place I’ve never been, but would love to go is the French Riviera. I learned a lot about the south of France in my French classes and would love to go there as the food and beaches are said to be amazing and a quick look at google confirms it! Plus, I think that French women are amazing – exotic, beautiful and classic and who doesn’t want to style steal while on a beach vacation amirite?
Yet another place I dreaming about visiting – Maldives. Who doesn’t dream about this incredible island? It just looks amazing with super clear blue water beaches, island resorts that offer rooms that are actually on stilts IN the water, and likely fantastic local cuisine.
